Subject: [EDA] NJC: another successful TX gathering This past weekend we had yet another fun gathering for the TX EDA's...it was actually for a couple reasons. Luna was performing another Living Room concert, and the Rugburns were also in TX this weekend. Kristie hosted the gathering, and after being on the list less than 2 months, I must say she really had everything well organized. There was plenty of food for everyone, and it was very accomodating overall. I didn't stay overnight, but several others did. We had hamburgers, chips, and drinks, and it was all really good. Luna performed for us a couple hours on Saturday, then we headed out to catch the Rugburns show in Houston. They put on a very entertaining show! My first time seeing them. I'd recommend checking them out if they're coming to your town. I went home afterwards and the others went back to Kristie's to stay the night. I'm sure Luna or someone will post the details of the rest of the weekend. Eric came down from NY and it was good seeing him again after over 3 years. Amber, her friend Michael, myself, and Luna were the others there, along with Kristie of course, and her boyfriend Elliot. It was a small, but fun gathering. Hopefully some others from this area can join in on it all next time around! For those who dont have CMT. The break out video is usually concidered a very good place to start on CMT... Most of them go on to get to the countdown and rate pretty high. She's A LOT like Jewel; 20 years old (like when Jewel released her first album), plays mainly acoustic tunes, writes her own songs, and writes songs about her emotional growth. I know the CD is not available in the US (the record label hasn't released her over here), however people may be able to download portions of her songs from fan websites. Perhpas there's an online music store based in Europe where people can buy the CD. But those who like early Jewel music will definately like Lene Marlin. Check out her fan sites!
