Hi Angels, Dennis has come up with a very good idea when he said we should be channelling good intentions and energies through the EDAF and "doing something a bit more personal that might produce more immediate, measureable results". However, it cuts out all those EDAs like Louise, who came up with the idea last year to help the Clearwater Project and who has suggested we do something similar again this year, because they do not live in the US of A. Louise's idea has the advantage of being more inclusive - we can all join in no matter where we live: this list is much wider than US EDAs, though I guess they/you make up the vast majority. There is, of course, nothing to stop us doing both. Those who want to donate money to a HGH project can do that and those who want to do something through the EDAF can do that - some may do both. Whatever. So let's discuss the two proposals for a while (but not too long as the year is racing away, especially for us oldies). Then come to a decision about what we'll do for Jewel to finish of the century/ millennium. Take care, Barry Howarth Canberra, Australia ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Oct 2000 00:00:41 -0700 (PDT) From: kevin maguire Subject: [EDA] Time TO Move ON!!!!!! Hey everybody...... Well i think, ask, want, and BEG for us to move on to a different subject, or at least get away from all the stuff that should take place in a Chat room, or message board.... This is the Jewel Digest, and i have only been on this thing for a year or so now, but it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo Much better when Mike was in charge. I am not saying that what has been going on is a waste, but some of it does not belong on the JEWEL DIGEST. So is anybody going to any of the Concert in Novemeber???? I think i am going to the Santa Rosa one, maybe also the Stockton one.....well Lets meet up, hang out, exchange Angelfood, and try to hang with Jewel and Steve after the show!!! ALSO i have a Copy of a NEW song that Jewel did at the concert i went to in Saratoga, on Sept.27th its Called UNTIL THE FALL.... and i will email it to someone to put on a web site or something....i dont know how to do that, so talk to me.. I've been on here since 1996 and I'll have to say I'm dissapointed right now but that's besides the point. I dont agree with Emilie saying that this list is about opinions about things not related to Jewel. Not to say that opinions and whatnot that people want to talk about are not important, I just really don't have time to read through a bunch of non related Jewel stuff every day! I respect other's thoughts and everything and poems and stuff but I dont want to spend time weeding through that. I joined this list to be up to date with what Jewel and her fans are doing in relationship to current albums, books, tv shows, etc that jewel is involved in. about the period stuff and the robert or whatever the name was, here's the answer: ask the person!!! whoever wrote about the period please post something to the list to get this straightened out about your name or whatever. also, I am making a 'zine for my media class and may have an article about jewel in it, maybe about her style as in fashion or along those lines. i dont know if anyone is interested in a copy or not but i'll have the info about that later, if you want to reply. thanks, kara _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. OK.right now.. everyone is to annouce there most controversal fact about themselves, i have already done it. so lets just whip them out, try to top each other, bash and defend each other.. really rip each other to shreads, then try to pick up the pieces of our fallen community. sound like peaches to everyone? have everyone at arms with each other.. have mike having an anneurism? True, volunteering is very helpful, but I had a different idea. For those of you that can afford it, go buy a blanket (a good warm one) or more than one, and distribute it (them) to the homeless this winter. I know some people can't do this, for lack of money or homeless in their area, but if you've ever had to live in an alleyway or under a bridge during the winter, you'd know what a damned gift a simple blanket is, trust me...been there. I once befriended a homeless man in my area when I gave him a blanket, and I started going to check up on him from time to time. One day, the police were harassing him, making him leave his little bedding/home spot. They took all his things (blanket too), and he died a week later from pnuemonia, for he had nothing to keep him a little warm. So do someone a favor, it could save their life... It's been a while since I've posted due to the fact that I refuse to make myself a part of the recent rounds of bickering. I have been a part of this list now for only about a month and I was wondering if there are any EDAs in the Northern California area (above Sacramento)? I'll be coming home on leave from the Air Force for Christmas on 19 December. I would like to be able to meet some EDAs while I'm home, if there are any in the Northern California area. Please reply to me privately so we don't cause more mail traffic for the entire list. Take care all! Dennis, I think this is a great idea, I think some EDA's have forgotten that they are EVERYDAY ANGELS! True, this list is not for people to spill personal info, but lets go back to 3rd grade for a minute here and remember that people do things for ATTENTION and ol Ron has the attention of the whole board. If he/she wants to post things of no relevance to anyone at all, just scroll on by, so click delete, I don't even read this stuff about him anymore I have plenty of other things to do. Anyhoo, I live in Mass now and I was wondering if the EDA's here are thinking about doing a food pantry x-mas thing. I have a lot of rehearsals for messiah those first 2 weeks, but I'm willing to give up my spare time to help. Also any angels with AOL IM (first of all, mail me with your name so we can chat!!! ) and then go to this site http://www.juice2000.com/icon/ they have some cute Icons that look like they fit into your menu, some of them are bad, but there's a really cute one called angel buddy, and the Irish ones (my personal favs) are cute too. Anyhoo, take a look they're good for a laugh. bye bye ~Kris~ The Singing Mass Angel "I am wanting, and...
