I decided to de-lurk to bring some cool information to the EDA community...... As a side note, I'm so upset that I missed the Letterman show. I just moved into my new apartment and currently have no television :*( :::sob sob::: To think, there was a time when i NEVER missed an apperance. *sigh* ANYWAYS - besides all that everyone must visit: http://www.heavy.com They have a part of the website that is absolutely HYSTERICAL! You'll come to the front page and you'll have the choice of "FAT or SLIM" depending on if you have a dial up or cable modem. Then the farthest left icon that is "Behind the Music That Sucks". At the top click "Episodes 1-6" and Jewel's is the 2nd from the right. It's ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! It's really rude and mean....but it's all in good fun :) If you look around a bit too you'll also see more "Behind the Music that Sucks" on artists like: Britany Spears, Fred Durst/Limp Bizkit, Hanson, Christina Agularia, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Shania Twain, Will Smith, etc..etc...etc... take a look. :o) Have fun!! A few months ago "Mishelle Ray" made an offer to send me Radioshack posters. Her email address was (and this address still works, nothing is being sent back): MISHRON@email.msn.com . After sending her postage, she emailed me telling me that she would be sending my posters that day, and this was, of course, a few months ago. I never received them, and I have tried contacting Mishelle through that email address with no reply. What I'm asking here is, if you are Mishelle, and you are still on this list (I haven't seen posts from her/you since then that I can recall) and you changed your address, or forgot to send them, or anything, or if you have been in contact, and are still in contact with Mishelle, or know anything about this, can you please let me know? I was really looking forward to receiving those posters since we didn't have the concert here, and I just want to know what happened with them. Hey everyone. Wow, I haven't posted in awhile but I just wanted to comment on the few things! First, I'm glad Jewel is back these days. I've missed seeing her on TV and everything. I got Jewel's book on October 3rd at my doorstep. It was amazing, I dove right into and read through it till about 2:00 AM that night. It was soothing, yet honest. I could hear each word being spoken in her voice, and I fell asleep with the book in my bed. Luckily, it didn't get wrinkled! It was just like being read a bedtime story and with each one I felt like I was taken to a foreign place because the descriptions were so clear. I was just so intrigued by it! She shocks me everytime, and even the fact of that stuns me. I also watched Letterman, hm..I've listened to that new song quite a few times. It's pretty good, definately not one of her best because it was a bit confusing and I couldn't really feel her through soul through her voice like I could in most of her other songs, but it's definately not bad. I like the fact that she's still doing new things. Now the main focus of this is the book reading. I wish it would've been longer, since I spent practically the whole day waiting for it to start and it was only like a half hour long, but I still enjoyed it anyway. I got there around 10:30 and had 3rd row center seats. It was almost silent when I arrived. Everyone was hiding their tired faces behind books and magazines like turtles slowly curling up into their shells. As more people arrived, they began to open up more causing the silence to slowly diminish and make room for the growing excitement. She rooted herself to the small stage abling herself to absorb the emotions of the crowd. She looked beautiful as always, looking like a delicate rose dressed in red. She read from her book and afterwards answered some questions. She really connected with the audience and spoke to a few briefly from their seats. She was both serious and funny, which kept it entertaining. Besides seeing Jewel, I got to meet some new people there like I did at the CD signing, if any of you are reading this right now I'd like to say hi and hope you had fun too! The best part of the day was at the end, as most things are! It was worth the wait. I got to meet her, even if it was only for half a second that she looked into my eyes and said to everyone who was waiting there "How are you guys?" "Thanks for coming", and leaped into her limo. Not many people knew about that little exit so we got pictures of her and she didn't run right through us. We waved goodbye to Jewel as her limo tumbled down the street, growing smaller as a rock being carried through a winding stream, insignificant amongst the maze of many tall buildings. - -Jade *Tiny Angel* ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 07 Oct 2000 15:39:57 -0400 From: Scott Evans Subject: [EDA] Jewel Store - new item Hey, the Jewel store is selling what sounds like an awesome idea.. As you probably noticed, Jewel served up three new songs in the past three days. To rescue ourselves from email overload, I'm here to answer the three big questions, which are: Q: What was Jewel's new song on "The View" called? A: That one is titled "Break Me". Jewel wrote this back in January and debuted it shortly thereafter. The accurate lyric transcription is available at the lyric page at jeweljk.com. Q: What was the new song on the Late Show with David Letterman last night? A: That one is titled "Serve The Ego" and is one of many new songs Jewel has written recently. Last night was it's debut performance. Q: What was the new song on CBS "Saturday Morning Early Show" earlier today? A: This was another one of the new songs. It's called "Shadows Play". This morning was it's debut performance. Also, please check the jeweljk.com calendar. It's changing daily with new information for you! Back from New York, where you can't walk behind a woman's grown daughter without getting yelled at. "Why are you walking behind my daughter?!?!? What's wrong with you!?!?!?" I hope all New Yorkers aren't like that! So I got to B&N at 10:45. WAAAY early. No line. 3rd row. Jewel was cute as ever. I have found my self to be completely un-starstruck though. I mean. She comes in the room and everyone jumps up with their flash-bulbs "Jewel, over here! Jewel I love you" and there I am rooted firmly to my seat, basking in my glow. She really is beautiful, I thought to myself. So she only used half of her hour but it was well worth it. Then my bus didn't return until 8 so I had to sit in B&N for five hours after! Hazy p.s.
