"Life is beautiful" Has really moved me. Like few songs have before and I would just die if I could get ahold of hte lyrics. Seeming as how there are some parts where I cant understand what shes saying, and things always look different on paper. I did a search and found virtually nothing on her.So if anyone knows where I can find the lyrics to that song life is beautiful and/or any others, please let me know! I don't mean just a couple of those lil fluffy latte's, either. I mean 2 to 3 pots of plain ol' joe coffee EVERY DAY. (I work full time, attend college full time, and volunteer about 10 hours a week, so you can imagine that I don't sleep much. Last quarter I actually, on three separate occasions, went as much as fourty hours without sleep! This cigarette/coffee method has worked well for me.) Ummm.....oh, yeah.....I noticed a couple posts from people who had tapes or photos to trade from the Puyallup show. I don't really have any Jewel stuff (or anything collectible) to trade. I would suggest getting sleep at night. I know lots of people try to get by without sleep, but you need sleep to stay healthy. If it's not a question of actually needing sleep, just not being able to stay awake in a particular class, I'd think about taking a different class. I used to fall asleep reading certain text books and in my bio class all the time. I finally realized it was the actual class, it just bored me. You need to take classes that interest you. - -Kerri - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 1:12 AM Subject: [EDA] Sleep! > Do any angels have tips for staying awake in class? Subject: [EDA] ya'll never cease to amaze me! I've recently met a very amazing person...and yes, she's an EDA as well. At first I didn't think this person was all too much different from most EDA's...but the more I began chatting with her, the more I began to really see into her, and realize she has a huge heart, and is a very special person. We started talking about Jewel some (of course), and other things. When we got around to the tapes we have, live shows, etc., that's when the shock came to me. She joined this list about 2 *years* ago. Quite awhile back relatively speaking. Yet, she does not have ONE live show of Jewel! She did get a so-so copy of Woodstock, Jewel's set I think, from a friend who had like a 3rd generation copy. So *that* tape is even pretty bad quality. And it's not for the lack of trying. She's e-mailed the list a few times...and some did reply, but never offered to send anything without a return tape and/or postage. While I know most do it this way, I think it would be nice (since I know this has occured in the past) if some of you would offer to make a Jewel tape for her free of charge. You can manage. I've already decided to give her several shows I have, including Jewelstock. I'm still in disbelief. She's been on the list 2 years, and is STILL on the list and as big of Jewel fan as ever, and yet has not received or ever heard ONE live show or treed tape! I think it's about time (and way overdue) for you guys and gals to extend the offer to this very diehard Jewel fan. I've yet to meet a fan of Jewel's that's been a fan (and on this list) for that period of time, having only heard the CD's. I know *I* sure wouldn't have! It's all the other tapes that really impressed me in the beginning, much more so than her official CD's ever did. I'm sure many of you would agree as well. I feel very honored to know a person like this, and hopefully will become good friends with her soon, as I have with many others in this area. I've already extended an invite to a future gathering, and plan to do what I can do help her get alot more Jewel items. So, if even just 10 people could write her and offer a show or two, etc. for her, that would be very NICE of you all. Her name is Wendy, and her e-mail is wendy765@aol.com You may be asking why she isn't doing this herself. Well I answered that above. She's tried, more than once. Didn't get any replies. That's so sad really. And here it is, 2 years later, and she's still on the list. She did make it to the Jewel show in Houston last summer...but barely in time to catch the last few songs, as her and her brother got a flat tire (2 actually!) on the way to the show. So she was very sad about that as well. So it's not for the lack of trying. I hope several of you read this, and are still reading this. Wendy deserves to have some of Jewel's shows..maybe Innerchage, Radio and Rare Angels, and the new Jewel rarities tape, several live shows, among others. I hope you can help out. Thanks for your time, I've done what I could, now it's up to all of you to open your arms up to her. Jewel is in the "Whay Are You Listening To?" section on p. 32 of the Rolling Stone with Kate Hudson on the cover.. It's a beautiful new picture of her and it says she's listening to Californation by Red Hot Chili Peppers.. "They make some of the smartest rock music happening right now. They're blending punk rock and funk and still being quite progressive about it".. According to her =) I love the new pic though.. She's ravishing.. Hey Angels, I haven't posted about the Puyallup Fair Concert yet, but I will. Let's just say OMG! Hi Denise! Hi Charles!:) And why are all of you Washington EDA's speaking up now, hummmm...??? I wanted to thank everyone who voted for Scott in the Starvivor contest and yes HE WON! So thank you to all who voted. The reason for my post today, is to congratulate my all time favorite EDA who has tried really really hard not to smoke and has done so now for over 6 weeks. I'm so proud of her. And to anyone out there trying to quit smoking, your awesome just for trying, so keep it up! ~CONGRATS PATTI YOU ROCK~ ~Yvonne ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #313 ***************************
