Oddly enough, it's called: "EDA Headquarters". ;-) It's open right now and fully functional, and I need your help in shaping it up to the the ultimate hang-out for EDAs. I've included a message board for all Jewel/EDA discussions and an area where you can place your own kind of "Angelfood Classifieds". It's kinda like an online swap meet area. If you're a new Angel, you can request some Angelfood, or if you're an experienced Angel you can hunt down that rare Jewel song, or if you're really nice, help out a new Angel. ;-) I've also included an EDA calendar for upcoming EDA events. So you can find out when and where the next Living Room Tour is going to be held and other cool EDA events. I've also included one or two more special areas on the site. You'll just have to visit the site to find out what they are. ;-) Everyone please at least visit the site, even if just to take a quick look around. I really would like to see this thing take shape and try and bring us all closer together as a group. Here's the site: http://www.deepwaterstudios.com/eda/index.htm Have fun, Jason ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 10:56:49 EDT From: Wendy765@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Houston edas hey.... are there any eda's from houston who go to numbers ever? i just heard that remy zero would be playing there tuesday.... wendy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 17:05:41 +0200 From: "michiel van gorkum" Subject: [EDA] Cool the accoustic concerts are starting again soon Hello Jewelfans, Just like the old days from 1995 / 1996/ 1997 is Jewel going to give accoustic concert gigs again in America and i am happy to be able to participate in 3 concerts in California. Hi everybody! I already asked this question a few months ago but i didn't get any reply so i just thought "Let's try again!"...is there any other Italian eda on this list or am i the only one??? Sorry for bothering you again guys but you know, the fact that i might be the only eda here in Italy makes me kinda sad. We had so much FUN! There were about 20 EDA's and friends in attendance from Pennsylvania, Massachussettes, Texas, and of course, New Jersey (and New York?). Those of us that arrived Friday night mainly sat around talking and joking and being generally goofy (imagine!). Saturday we went over to the beach and divided into our 2 tribes which then competed in several contests - most trash collected, scavenger hunt (looking for the items that the Survivor castmembers brought as their "luxury item" - we actually found most of them!), and most unusual item (of course we had a suspense-filled and dramatic vote for that one). Dan's "thing" aka "THE HOOK" won. The Superintendent of Parks came by and presented us with a framed Proclamation from the Mayor which named Sept. 16, 2000 as EveryDay Angels Foundation Day in the city of South Amboy. Rock on! After our lunch at the now-traditional Big Ed's BBQ (home of a dozen or more plywood animals), we went back to the ol' Campbell Inn to wash up. At this point the guitars started coming out of their cases and some singing did occur (with possibly a Jewel song or 2 or 20)! Who knew talent ran so rampant in the EDA circles? The LRC started a couple hours later and was awesome. Luna opened - she sings some really beautiful stuff, so when her first cd comes out, you better all buy it! (Or should I say Y'ALL better buy it?) Next was Randi Driscoll, who continues to be a staunch EDAF supporter and all around super (not to mention incredibly talented) person. She is the one to keep an eye on, trust me! Later that night we continued the Survivor competition, playing a couple of rounds of You Don't Know Jack. Unfortunately, technical difficulties brought it to an early end and we had to resort to Rock Scissors Paper to determine the winner LOL! Sunday we wrapped things up with the final vote for the last Survivor and Kelly Gallagher won by a landslide (we were a little nervous when Dan's "Thing " got a vote). She was presented with a check for a Gazillion dollars and a brand new, still in the box Pontiac Aztec (or as close to one as Matchbox makes!!) Please note, guys, the EveryDay Angels Foundation wasn't created for people who want to be or think they are superior or perfect. It's intended as a vehicle for regular people who have an inclination to do something to better their community and environment and who want to have a truck-load of fun while doing it! Hopefully, newer EDA's will not be scared away from gatherings (be it EDAF or EDA) because of the recent quarrel. I've been to literally dozens of gatherings all over the country and every single one has been absolutely amazing! Arguments happen, it's part of the whole being human thing (especially when you have such a diverse group of people). But the EDA's always seem to stick together in the end, and that's pretty cool if you ask me! Oh, and welcome back Tom Morales! :-) Amy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 13:35:30 -0700 From: "Tim S." I also have links to other sites which present more news than I do if you're still interested in it. I'm just interested in seeing and hearing Jewel! =) Also, I finally went thru my e-mail inbox and put up all the poetry that people sent me to put up over the past nine months. :P There are now 33 (!!) poets with 1-5 poems each. You should really check 'em out! =) http://www.endor.org/jewel/eda/poetry.html I also went thru and added the photos to people's entries in the EDA Yearbook. If you are not yet a member, or if you're looking for info on an EDA, 'tis a good place to check out! =) http://www.endor.org/jewel/eda/yearbook As usual, I have a complete list of all places to purchase Jewel merchandise on the web: http://www.endor.org/jewel/merch.html And I still have the largest ongoing list of Jewel links: http://www.endor.org/jewel/links/ All you Jewel fans who have web sites.. add your link!! And link to me. ;) Also, if the Jewel List isn't enough for you, check out my list of Jewel mailing lists. I also have regional lists for EDA's getting together for local events: http://www.endor.org/jewel/mailing/ And if anyone knows of a web site that lets you specify URL's to send eCards, please let me know. My Jewel eCards don't work anymore 'cuz Regards.com changed their interface. :P Thanks, Gerrit ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 21:44:53 -0400 From: "cymbaline" Subject: [EDA] Jewel mention in Globe I'm not one to read the tabloids, but while on break at work someone had left their copy of the Globe in the breakroom. So I began reading it. I came across this article. There's a pic of Jewel and Ty... and then one of Jewel and her guitar. We all know how tabloids are. For all we know this could be false. (especially about the "engagement ring".... we already know the ring Atlantic gave her has been confused with an engagement ring.... anyway, here's the article. JEWEL TO WED GEM OF A DUDE Pop singer Jewel has roped herself a husband! Friends reveal that she and her bronco-busting beau Ty Murray are set to tie the knot. The angel-faced chantuese and the rugged rodeo hunk have been a hot item since they met last year. Now she's sporting a huge glittering rock on her engagement finger. "Jewel and Ty plan to announce very soon that a wedding date has been set," confides an insider. Wedding bells seems imminent when the coosome couple appeared at Ty's induction into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., in August. At a reception afterward, the 26 year old Yo Were Meant For Me singer serenaded her 30 year old sweetheart, and also entertained guests with jokes and yodeling. "Ty has definitely lassoed Jewel's heart," says a source close to the couple. Raised on an 800-acre homestead in Alaska by her singing cowboy father Atz Kilcher and artist-singer mom Lenedra, Jewel has always had a thing for cowboys, say pals. Long a fan of Ty, the worlds No.1 rodeo star, she had her publicist arrange for them to meet. "Jewel fell head over heels for Ty," says the insider. "He's strong, independent, but with a real gentle side." The "humble cowboy" from Stephenville, Texas, is the best rough-stock rider the sport has ever known. He's won the world all-around title a record of seven times, despite being forced out of action for three years by injuries. Jewel's mom, who's also her manager, thinks the sport is so dangerous, says the insider, that she warned her daughter, "You never know for sure if your man is going to come home in one peice. You could end up a young widow." cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Sep 2000 00:01:09 EDT From: RunTontoRun@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Did Jewel forget about us east cost EDA's???
