I like the idea of trying to help along Jewel but I don't like the category you chose. Most underappreciated artist. I mean she is appreciated right. I just think there is a more suitable category name. I caught (I think) most of the segment with Jewel... I think it was mainly about why she supports Al Gore. (She believes he'll do a lot for the poor and hungry in America.) :) Also, the interviewer did ask her what WWSYS was about. She put a spin on it I'd never thought of -- but I'm drawing a blank on what it was, exactly. If I think of anything else, I'll write. :) Take care, guys. Ian, the Angel still without a name. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2000 12:28:36 EDT From: NikosSong@aol.com Subject: * RE:We can help jewel win an award. I didn't' like that category either. I nominated her for another one though: Most humanitarian. Hopefully they'll do it! I even went a step further and also submitted the "Humanitarian Award" of course for Jewel. I was ready to add about a million categories but I figured they would just ignore the rest. But please use Gina's suggestion and submit a category for "Most Unapprecited Artist" and "Humanitarian Award" hopefully one or both can make it, especially if we increase the possibilities and vote. Although I beleive that jewel is somewhat underappreciated, I don't think that they will give her an award for this. Also I think that the catagory needs to be a nominated for a few artists so that there wil be a competition for the award, and I also saw that they wanted a song/video suggested for the award, which song should we nominate? and for what in particular? WSIT? Jupiter? these songs were hardly played by the media-- maybe down so long but she released that a while ago--- I think the idea is a nice one, but it will be difficult. Original message: Hey Angels, we all know how much Jewel does for our planet and it's people, and now we might be able to help her get the recognition she deserves for it! VH1 is doing a My VH1 Music Awards, where fans pick the categories and nominees. I am in the Jewel fan club, and so I entered the category "Most Underappreciated Artist" and entered Jewel's name. If a lot of EDAs do this, they would have to seriously consider this, don't you think? Here is the link to the webpage: MyMu sic Awards: VH1.com Let's do this! I agree with some of the other posts..... Jewel is under-appreciated....BUT ONLY TO US... cuz we're super biased. :o) To the normal everyday listener, she's just as appreciated as everyone else. Ya know? Just as a suggestion how about an award for : "Hardest Climb To The Top" I mean think about it... completely broke, living in a car, no medicine when your sick, no job, bad jobs, small coffee house gig, washing up in Denny's, record deal (yay!) touring with punk bands, getting boo-d off the stage, sleepless nights, more punk bands, etc...etc.... but of course, she DID have Steve by her side the whole way... who could complain about life when you've got that kinda support/good-looks!!!??!? haha j/k Anyways you guys get my drift. Just a suggestion anyways ;) Always yours, Chelle the angel who loves to jam** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2000 19:17:31 -0400 From: Scott Evans Subject: * Jewel Makes Headlines Jewel has the headline news article on billboard.com (as of right now)..
