What an absolutly excellent way to make this Jewel Down time constructive on this list :o) I think its a wonderful idea I would volunteer for something... but my web page making skills are beyond lacking. So, Lets brain storm here, and get it going. anyone wants to try it? volunteer? how can we do this? We could really turn it into something great. I got 3 new posters today from Jmerch. that i got from the auction a few weeks back. One is profile, trees, and the other is the newer life uncommon. they are wonderful. so now i have all the posters jmerch offers. So anyway, i recomend them :o) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2000 23:13:27 EDT From: ZinzyGurl@aol.com Subject: Re: * EDA fights Because really, you can only read so many posts that say "Jewel is lazy, when is she gonna work her butt off so we can sit on ours and enjoy it?" It gets old and it is rather disgruntling (is that a word?) to hear people who know very well the things she has done for us, the music world, and the entire world around her. With all this new talk about the EDA yearbook, I got kinda excited! OK, I may not be the best web page designer, but I can at least do something. I would really like to do this for all of you, but if someone else wants to do it, I can understand that as well. The thing is, I wouldn't have money to buy a nifty dot.com name, so it would have to be on geocities or something. Anyway, I have nothing to do this summer vacation, and I think it would be a wonderful project for me to do. Of course I would include all of your ideas into it. If someone would like to design backgrounds/graphics/fonts, etc. for the page, I would be more than happy to use them! (Wow, I feel like I'm campaigning..."If you vote for me, I promise I will....") Anyway, peace out to all you angels out there! And remember: "We are, each of us angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another" WE ARE EVERYDAY ANGELS! In the most recent issue of Rolling Stone, with Blink-182 on the cover, there is a small mention of Jewel's new book. It is in the "In The News" section. It says something to the effect of Jewel's new book will be arriving near christmas this year, there is a quote from Jewel saying that she worked on it whil she was on tour from midnight to 4 AM after every show. No picture though. The magazine is not on most news stands yet I just have a subscription and I got it a few days a go. Just thought I would let you know. That's a lot different than San Diego, isn't it? Does that mean the next album will be country music? Don't laugh that's what some guy told me on email. I'm not criticizing her. I'm just trying to figure out what she's doing. I must say that including my age in my last post was a mistake. I wasn't tryiing to single any gender or age group out from the EDA family. I guess the point I was trying to make is We all can be better people. no matter what age, Myself included. After spending a part of my adolesent life being the person I didn't want to be. It took the death of my sister and mother to make me relize how short and valuable life really is. Sure everyone has issues, but I think there are a few people. that dont look at our world this way. Those were the ones I was trying to reach. If I have insulted anyone I am truley sorry and I hope you can see the real message here. That we as a whole, as a community, We need to help those that dont understand who we are and what we are about. See that there is hope and serinity to be found in all of us. It shouldn't take a tragic loss or illness for them to apprecieate life. And we all can in our own little way be the difference that makes a difference. Jewel has become our common ground and we should never forget she is a big part of why we are accepting the challenge of being all that we can. Peace to you all. My website, Sunshine Supergirl, now has a non-frames version available. Please go to http://users.drak.net/jewel for the options, thanks. What's with all the fighting? Three simple words: Get Over It! I'll keep you posted on whether I get flamed for that comment or not. I've seen a few quotes by Tori Amos floating around. Yay, I love Tori! I'm obsessed, really. Quite scary. Ummm, what else? I dunno. Nice getting in touch again. Bye-bye. Oh, and to that guy who says 90 shows is not enough for Jewel: what are you on? I'd like to see you get up there and do it. Anyway, ciao! ================= Can you imagine how quiet a plane crash would be to a deaf person? The fact that people are arguing and sending hate mail is ridiculous. The fact that people have singled out younger EDAs is even more ridiculous. People need to realize that when someone else states something that you may not agree with, it is not in any way a personal attack on you. If people would keep open minds, they would realize that age, especially on a list like this, is of no concern. Rather than filling the list with posts of scorn, spite and negativity, it should be filled with posts that are more informative and positive. What do you think Jewel's reaction would be if she knew how negative some of the things that are posted here have been lately? That's all I have to say (for now). Feel free to send me hate mail if you find it necessary, just be sure to type "hate mail" for the subject. :o) Ted BBBMonkey@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000 04:02:42 EDT From: GWJewelGrL@aol.com Subject: * Re: What's Jewel doing ? All i have to say is in regards to Jewel should have released five or six albums by now...GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Im sorry but id much prefer quality whether than quantity. I mean I find it a little peculiar when a band like Korn releases 2 albums in the same day, how different can they be? (sorry to all Korn fans but working in a music store i never understood that)...and then i will just say that there are other bands who dont release things for two or three years maybe even more, and it winds up being great...and very much looked forward to. *the mystic angel* Jordana "I'd rather see the world from another angle."-Jewel ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #226 ***************************
