So I guess it means that even though he's not there, Juel is like, "I'll think of you and remember the good memories of us together." And that with this in mind, she has faith that he loves her and will know that he needs to have her... I'm not sure of course, just my 2 cents... ===== ~*Liz*~ the Misplaced Angel HARMLESS & SHAMELESS PLUGS (if you can, check 'em out!) Wow! Now, the reason for the post. Okay I know at first this is going to sound kinda bad,...but stick with me..Okay, When Spirit first came out I didn't really care much for Hands. Or atleast, when I heard the rest of the album I felt that there were much stronger songs that would have made a better first single. Yet over time I've gradually started liking several lyrical moments....like "In the End only kindness matters". but..Sunday when I watched ACL the song hit me in a completely different way. I've mentioned before that I've been down in the dumps lately because of a personal drama involving a boy,..and it honestly felt that Jewel was singing that song to me! Lyrics like: "Not to worry cause worry is wasteful and useless in times like these, I won't be made useless, won't be idle with despire. I'll gather myself around my faith for light is the darkness most fear.." "I am never broken" "And heartache came to visit me but I knew it wasn't ever after" So now, I love this song! I sing it to myself all the time. Especially when I'm having a bad moment. It is my current motivational anthem! It's so amazing to me how a change in circumstances can change the outlook and personal interpation of a song. And as I started writing this post I was remind of the "least favorite Jewel song poll" and the constroversy which surrounded it, and I started thinking that having a least favorite Jewel song might have nothing to do with the song, instead the simple fact that we haven't had a personal experiance that really made the message of that song hit home for us, and I believe that the message in a Jewel song is just as importent as the music. Thus, having a least favorite Jewel song does not mean the song is bad, or make any it less of a song because as we gain experiances her songs take on a depth and a meaning we might not have caught in the first place, and maybe in the end that is why we love her songs so much. Okay, I'm done now. ~smile~ Have a very Angelic day! ttfn Sara the angel with a paintbrush. - --- I tried to forget you but you tied bells to your name ~Jewel "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone" http://homepages.go.com/~mysteriousraven/door.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 11:42:18 EDT From: "Kunis Joseph" Subject: * Re: jewel-digest V5 #199 Need Jewel video, have some but more is needed! I'm relatively new to the list and haven't posted before so I hope this works. I was just wondering if anyone had the NYA guitar tab. I haven't been able to find it on those guitar tab search sites, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but if anyone has it and is willing to send it to me I live at underwhelmed_ar@hotmail.com Please and thank you. Hi angels I was wondering if one of you could help me out. Recently I got Jewel's home video and there was a really brief clip someone in there of Jewel playing Foolish Games by herself just on guitar and I thought it was really beautiful. So my question is, does a recording of Foolish Games exist out there that only has Jewel singing and her guitar? If so where can I get it? Thanks :-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 19:12:10 EDT From: KNicky3116@aol.com Subject: * Re: Recording of Foolish Games on just guitar? Thanks :-) For all interested in the answer to this question, Jewel sings Foolish Games with only her guitar on VH1's Hard Rock Live, and she even says "shit" :) (it was during FG, right? It's been a while since I've watched it) It's hard to pick up on her saying that, but it's after she misses a note or something like that. - -Nicole angel on horseback http://www.fumblergal.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 19:48:26 EDT From: DeitysJuel@aol.com Subject: * Re: Jewel In This Month's Teen People A tiny note on Vh1, during one of thier programs involving female biased sexuality in the music industry, at the interview with editors of 17 magazine, the cover directly behind was one of Jewel, and during the best solo female artist "the list" it flashed her face, though no one named her, personally i think this is quite unfair, as though the top three and majority of the list were at least known for twenty years, Jewel has more than proven her staying power. >here wearing a playboy bunny shirt. first, despite my previous comment on the virtue of playboy as oposed to the more smutty mags, the fact that jewel has never even begun to consider posing (doubtless she has been offered!) shows volumes for her virtue, her integrity in a industry intent of showing flesh to sell furthers this well...as to the arguing, in my time here Ive seen much overdefensivness of jewel in comments stated harmlessly, yet I feel that compassion should be given as it too often is not to our wonderful moderator. During these little spats surely he must fume at the volatile adolescent bickering too often to be healthy, A hearty salute on tolerance!
