I think that we are all just humans in training. our training really isnt complete until the moment that we find beauty in death. At this time in the world there are wars, in our city there are wars. We are fighting for something that none of us can see. I personally am fighting a war with and against my sister. At nite i cry myself to sleep while listening to life uncommon... its a hard battle to have to fight, but i cant wait until all the wars and fighting is over.. maybe then i will sleep well..... dont worry mother.. it will be alright.. and dont worry sister... say your prayers, and sleep tight, and it will be fine... lover of mine... it will be just fine ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Jun 2000 19:16:07 -0700 From: "Sandy" Subject: * Re: Can we just forget about it? I kind of agree with Aimee here...I mean, she wasn't purposely insulting Jewel, and of course, people do gain and lose weight! and of course, other people are going to notice it, because that's what people do. I also believe that there was nothing wrong in her wondering if Jewel was pregnant because of this either. When someone gains a little weight in a short amount of time, and just like she said, starts to look more voluptious, it's natural to wonder if it's the beginning of a pregnancy. She never said "Jewel's fat now she looks likes she's 9 months pregnant" or anything rude, it was just an observation, and an opinion. Frankly I don't think that any observations should be taken under scrutiny like that, and I'm sure that although many people jumped on her, I'm sure there we're people who agreed. For instance, (and I'm not trying to dig myself into the same hole that unfortunately Aimee got thrown into) I thought Jewel looked like she put on a bit of weight at Woodstock. Now of course, that's not important, nor is it a topic for discussion, but had I thought she could possibly be pregnant and been curious about whether or not she was (and Aimee's right, it would be great to see Jewel pregnant, I'm sure she'd be an excellent mother, and I sure hope she passes on those wonderful genes of her sometime!) I would have looked into it further, and shared my curiousity with others on the list in hopes of clearing it up. I wouldn't think that it should be a cause for controversy, especially not a year later. It was her opinion and observation and I don't think she should have to apoligize to anyone, then or now. She didn't personally insult or offend anyone, and no one should have taken offense to it. ~<3~ Sandy ~ Angeloflove@innocent.com ~ Angelicpoet@home.com - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aimee -" To: Sent: Tuesday, June 13, 2000 5:24 AM Subject: * Can we just forget about it? > > Ok,like a YEAR ago I was tired and watched Jewel on TV (I think maybe it was > the CMA's) and I couldn't remember seeing her look quite so voluptious. The reason is that preparation of our new photos is done one week in advance and last week our photography team was in NYC (at the Radio Shack/RCA event taping) shooting many new images for you to soon enjoy. So for this week, several favorite "non-performance" images of Jewel are featured again. This is a unique batch of photos that we hope you enjoy, even if some are familiar. We'll be featuring some of the brand new images over the next few weeks. Keep checking every Tuesday! If you haven't signed up for JeweLink, Jewel's official communications list, it's real easy. Simply send an empty email to: join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com You do not need a subject or to say anything in the message like "please subscribe me." It's really that easy. There is also a JeweLink web interface at jeweljk.com where joining is just a mouse-click away. (It's located on the "email" page.) When was the show for Radio Shack recorded? Finally, does anyone know when Jewel sang I Shall Be Released with Bob Dylan or 6th Avenue Heartache with the Wallflowers? >> Exhale: Feb 9, 2000 Austin City Limits: Feb 7, 2000 Radio Shack Concert: June 6, 2000 Jewel performed "I Shall Be Released" twice with Dylan and sang "6th Ave Heatache twice with the Wallflowers. I'd guess the versions in question come from two tapes we previously treed to the EDAs which would be these dates: Jewel & Bob Dylan: April 18, 1996 Providence, RI Jewel & The Wallflowers: Dec 12, 1996 Fairfax, VA Also, I'd like to remind folks in the following areas that EDA favorite Joy Eden Harrison is still touring and you have a few more chances to catch her live at the following gigs around the country: June 16: Harrisonburg VA The Artful Dodger June 18 : Arlington VA, Now! Music and Fashion record store in-store performance June 20: Scranton PA, WVIA-FM live in-studio performance with studio audience And here's a few confirmed July dates for Joy: July 15: Chicago IL, The Double Door (various artists) July 20: Chicago IL, Uncommon Grounds July 29: Sonora CA, Main Stage Sonora Songwriters Festival (various artists) It was great meeting some new faces and seeing several of the long lost list vets turn up this past weekend at Joy Eden Harrison and Ellen Rosner's Living Room gig in Taunton, MA. I hope many more of you get a chance to meet each other at various EDA-related events this summer. It's well worth the effort!
