I am doing something good for others I think, so maybe possibly someone could do something good for me? Email me personally and I will work out details. I worked at Radio Shack toward the end of 1999 and for like a day in 2000. I just happened to walk into my old abode and found the flyer with Jewel on the front and I had to stop and just wonder, "What is the connection?" Either way, one of my best friends who i used to work with, works at Radio Shack in Wayne, NJ and there might be a possibility he can record it, since there's all that funky hi-fi VCR stuff over there, though I don't doubt that this concert is one that has already been aired on television numerous times, which would defeat the purpose of going through the trouble of recording off their Direct TV. But either way, this is just kinda funny - i guess if I still worked at Radio Shack this could be a good excuse for having people come visit me at work :) Take care all! - -Linda ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 May 2000 12:44:31 EDT From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: * Jewel on Austin City limits and Radio Shack Thingy Hey angels-- I haven't cheaked my mail this weekend so i'm a little behind. Hey everyone, I'm not a spokesperson for Teen People, but i think i should clear some things up, since my original post probably gave you the wrong idea. First, the article called "The Smile File" was mostly about keeping your teeth healthy, which i believe everyone wants to do. Second, i think they were trying to use the "Quirky Smiles" to show that your teeth dont have to be perfect to be pretty or successful. I don't think they were trying to embarrass or make fun of Jewel. While I could be wrong, I just thought i would try to clear up any confusion from my earlier post. ~Lindsay the notting hill angel http://www.angelfire.com/la2/angelfood/index.html In a message dated 5/29/00 6:41:48 PM Pacific Daylight Time, owner-jewel-digest@smoe.org writes: > Hi Everyone. > > Why does the media infatuate itself with people's physical traits more than > they do their talents? As it is on every Tuesday, NEW photos are up today at jeweljk.com & we'll have a new contest starting soon. You still have today left to enter the current contest, if you haven't already. Hope to see many of you at the upcoming Joy Eden Harrison NorthEast gigs over the next two weeks! (Go to Joy's site at www.joyedenharrison.com for complete tour dates.) First, as visitors to the Jewel Auction already know, one of the "unannounced surprise" items being auctioned, is a set of four tickets to a private concert in NYC on Tuesday June 6th. This concert is not open to the public. However, the concert is being recorded for a special RCA high definition TV promotion & two days later, on June 8th, anyone within distance of a Radio Shack can go watch this concert for free! On June 8th, Radio Shacks nationwide will be broadcasting Jewel's concert on walls of high definition TV displays in their stores. I believe the concert will begin broadcasting at 7PM regardless of your time zone. (Call your local RS to be sure.) Also, a few people wrote me asking about the Christmas CD at the Jewel Auction. This is actually the rarest of all Jewel rarities! I think many probably thought this was the 1997 Atlantic promo Christmas CD that had "Angel Standing By" & a brief holiday greeting from Jewel. That's NOT what it is! This CD was a special Christmas Card CD that Jewel gave only to staff, family & friends for Christmas 98. It contains Jewel & Lenedra singing accapella (unaccompanied) versions of "Rudolph" & "I Wonder As I Wander" and has some humorous dialogue after that. It comes in a special "holiday card" slipcase as well. These are far more scarce than any other "official" Jewel recording. We hope you're all having fun at the auction! Please be courteous when going to Radio Shack - I highly doubt that the sales associates or managers will be very happy to have hordes of people come in to just watch the tv - in fact from my experience I'm sure there'll be someone who will go and turn the TV off if they feel like it. I believe this is a big thing to drive in sales - once you're in the Shack, you see an ad for deals on a Sprint PCS phone - and the people's job there is to sell you things. Keep that in mind. If you aren't looking around and just watching TV, regardless of whether there's a promotional concert on, they might give you a hard time. Just keep this in mind when forty different people ask you if you need any help. And don't get mad when you start getting dirty looks - Radio Shack is a store that sells electronics, not music, and therefore, is not a place where they normally tolerate people chilling out watching their TV. Just though I'd let you know - -Linda ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 May 2000 15:23:26 -0700 From: "Rizioule" Subject: * NJC: Reminder of Live Show tonight! Hi Everyone, This is just a quick reminder about the new I-net TV show "Local Solutions" I will be on tonight. You can tune in from the link on my website http://RiziouleSoundProductions.homepage.com or from http://www.WorldEvolution.net or http://WorldEvolution.net The show is supposed to begin at 7:00 Pacific time but I'm not sure exactly when I will be on because they are doing a lot of setup beforehand. If you tune in and dont see me, just be patient. They will probably have a video going first. Also, The show that usually airs after Local Solutions will not be on tonight which means we may do an extended musical performance. That would be cool, but I don't know for sure yet. Hope to see you guys tonight !
