Hi Everyone- I don't really think that we could get a Jewel video played on TRL for Jewel's birthday. But what about calling and trying to get Carson Daly to say Happy Birthday to her, or something like that. Maybe he could say from the EDA's. Just a thought that I think might be more realistic. -Kirsten ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 May 2000 10:10:34 EDT From: Buster2530@aol.com Subject: * Life Uncommon Tour Bus Song? EDA's, Hello everyone. Last night I was watching the Life Uncommon video(was bored, thought i'd check it out again), and while Jewel, Steve Poltz, and Jewel's father Atz were in the tour bus....they were singing a song and jewel was playing the guitar. At the end, Steve was like,"That's such a sweet song you should record that!" Now to my question......what song is this? Is it complete? Has anyone heard it? I would like to thank everyone who came out in support of the EveryDay Angels Foundation at Java Joes this past Wednesday. It was practically a who's who of the San Diego music scene as the EDAs converged and music flowed! Randi Driscoll opened the show with a stellar set and tales from the road. Carlos Olmeda was up next for a rare solo set and flexed his "Sensitve Groov-i-ness" . Headlining the show was none other than LRT Alumnus Joy Eden Harrison, just freshly moved back to San Diego. Joy treated us to many favorites and brought up friends Lisa Sanders and Cindy Lee Berryhill to join in on the fun. Proceeds from the door will help the EDA Foundation to continue to develop programs and events to further the EveryDay Angel cause :) Special thanks go out to Tony and Maddy for their long drive down and to Alex for his superb handling of senseless (but extremly amusing) violence playfully directed his way by both Joy and myself. :) Look for the Alex Esther Commerative Pinata at the next EDA Gathering near you ...... Till next time, Jason V Special Events Coordinator EDA Foundation PS Audio tapes of our recent Project Warmth LRC Starring EDA Joe Hui, Jason Mraz, and Carlos Olmeda will soon be ready for trade. Hi y'all :-) Sheesh....with everyone writing in to get a Jewel video on MTVs TRL I guess I'm kind of suprised no one noticed this on TRL Wednesday and posted about it asking. Must be no one here actually watches TRL ;-) Anyway, just before the #7 video aired, Carson Daly asked (and there was a graphic onscreen with the question) a question as a clue as to what the next video was. The question went something like: Which artist has performed with Moby, _______ and Jewel? (I forgot the third artist, so I'm using a blank). The answer was The Bloodhound Gang and the next video was that hilarious video of theirs, "The Bad Touch". ("You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel"). Does anyone recall Jewel performing with these guys? It sure does not ring a bell with me. I did an electronic search of the Jewel digests for "bloodhound" and found a few hits, including a group called "The Bloodhounds" that came on stage RIGHT AFTER Jewel at the December 8th, 1996 HFS Holiday Nutcracker in Fairfax VA (Washington DC area). Anyone know if "The Bloodhounds" later became "The Bloodhound Gang" or if the digest was just wrong and this IS The Bloodhound Gang that was there? If so, did she do a song with them there at the Holiday Nutcracker? (By the way, This IS the same show/performance of 8 songs that is treed on the Angelfood known as Jeweltide Carols, which includes Jewel performing "6th Avenue Heartache" with the Wallflowers). Mike :-) P.S. She wasn't one of the people in one of the monkey suits in the video was she? ;-) * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand, * or have a burning question about Jewel and/or the list, * The Jewel/EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.quackquack.net/jewel * Many basic/common Jewel and list questions can be answered there :-) * * Need some Angelfood? Last year when we made the everyday acts of kindness book for her, what I wrote about donating blood got put in it. Now this year, my student council is running a blood drive for our school in which I'm a big part of and guess what day it's going to be on? May 23rd! Ha, I just found that sort of amusing. Well, I'll be donating a pint of my blood and thinking of her on that day! amy *the raindrop angel* ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 May 2000 19:06:44 -0700 (PDT) From: Juliet Forbes Subject: * I'm making a Jewel Site (kinda long) Hey Angels! I haven't posted in a while, it's me Juliet - the break me angel! Well anyways I posted a while ago, about me being in the process of making a Jewel site (to add to the millions of others) - well I have started, but before the "Grand Opening" I need some help with some ideas: -For those in school, year books are coming out soon, if they haven't already, so I want you to to send me some Jewel Quotes that are ideal for signing yearbooks (ex. Have a great summer - "We are everyday angels"). If you can think of any just send 'em on over to princessjuel@yahoo.com. :) -Also I am making a "Proud to be an EDA" section and I want you guys to tell me why you are proud to be an EDA (oh god, it sounds like one of those essay contests!) - it may inspire newer Jewel fans to join the list. :) If you guys could help me out, that'd be greatly appreciated. The page should be up in the next couple of weeks, I'll keep you posted. :) .Thanks. Juliet the break me angel :) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #136 ***************************
