I am really glad that she did this because its nice to get to know some of you, and here life stories from others that feel as passionetly abouts Jewel music as I myself do. I think that we need to do more talking online. Even though we may not know each other that doesnt mean that we shouldnt get to know one another. Afterall, you could make a life long friend... ~Samantha the dazed and confused angel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 00:25:41 EST From: W1GGY2@aol.com Subject: * Angel Food offer; EDAF events; lot's o' stuff.... Well, it has just occurred to me that I have been on this list for just about 4 years now (and it seems like only 6)! Who knew that joining an internet mailing list to look for some recordings would turn out to be a life-changing event? Many of the 100's of friends I have made here have become my very best friends. And with the EveryDay Angels Foundation, I have discovered much of the meaning that my life was lacking. So, I have decided to commemorate my 4 years and "moosh" all that stuff together (thanks to Tom Proven for adding the word "moosh" to my vocabulary) to make the following offer: I have a 2-tape set of angel food that I believe is extremely rare. They are recordings made during the Innerchange Days and, though there are some versions which are the same as on the "official" Innerchange Days tapes, most of these are different. Each tape also has one song that has never been circulated as far as I know (see below for track listings and additional info). From now until the end of April, I will send free copies of these tapes to anyone who: (a) donates $40 or more to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society by way of the upcoming MS Walk (in other words, you will be sponsoring me and the EDAF Team in the walk and I will pick up the tab for the tapes and the shipping) or (b) enters and completes their own local MS Walk, raising at least the obligatory $35. After April, I will be offering the tapes for trade and/or making them available to anyone who sends blanks. In either case, you can let me know now if you are interested. I will be going away this Friday, March 30 until April 5 and won't have e-mail access, so don't be concerned if it takes a while for me to respond. Here is the track listings for these tapes, tentatively dubbed "More Innerchange", as well as some of Jewel's comments before songs. Keep in mind that, as with previous Innerchange recordings, these are distinctively Lo-Fi. Unless noted, the versions are previously uncirculated to my knowledge..... *** "ID" = "Innerchange Days" tapes *** TAPE 1 Daddy Train Song Down So Long Housewife's Revenge Mama's Little Hero (same as ID) Swedish Song (same as ID) Without You By My Side (same as ID) Billy (same as ID) She Cries Morning Song WWSYS Flower (this is a DIFFERENT version!) Daisies is an extremely dark song, be warned. UPCOMING EDAF EVENTS (EAST COAST): April 9 - the MS Walk. Team EDAF will be walking in Jersey City at Liberty State Park. However, you can join the team even if you are walking at a different location as long as it's in NORTH JERSEY. Go to www.njbnmss.org to register. Team name is EveryDay Angels Foundation; team captain is Amy Neufeld. Please email me at w1ggy2@aol.com if you have any questions or if you plan to join in. I will not have email access from March 30 - April 5, so please be patient. April 16 - Our bi-annual adopted beach cleanup at the South Amboy Waterfront in NJ. As tradition commands, we have decided to stretch this event to a full fun-filled weekend (try saying that 10 times fast!) Thanks to Eric Montas, we are invited to attend a FREE (my favorite word) soccer game at the Meadowlands between the NY Metrostars and - oh - some other team. This will be on Saturday night at 7:30. The beach cleanup will start at 10 am the following morning. After the cleanup, we'll go back to that barbeque place with the plywood animals. I can accomodate some people fairly comfortably or a lot of people most uncomfortably at my house for sleepin' on Saturday night. Email me if you plan to attend the game and/or the cleanup. I will be sending out directions to those interested in about a week. I will not have email access from March 30 - April 5, so please be patient. Well, I guess that's it! If you got this far, thanks for reading. Now go out and do something great! :-) Amy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 04:25:30 -0800 (PST) From: dream Subject: * ride with the devil available in the philippines for those who are staying in the philippines, ride with the devil in vcd format is being sold alng ayala avenue in makati. i got one and jewel surely did a great job in it. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 12:18:17 EST From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: * Re: njc aol chat hey angels= I've been trying to find a chat room on aol for jewel. Somehow I've gotten 2 spirit sheet music books (how, i have NO idea..) I only need one, obviously, so if there's anyone who'd like one, I'd be willing to trade it for angelfood. Check out my page below to see what I already have. I'd REALLY love the Exhale interview, but I'd probably trade for anything not on my list. So let me know! As you may recall i had auditions on tuesday, and since i didn't have a karaoke tape i used my regular spirit cd. They said the kind a liked it , but wanted to hear just me. So i searched high and low for a nice real karaoke tape of hands. finally finding it, i redid my audition today. It was supposed to be at 10 am and was postponed. Finally when all the judges got together, it was 2 pm. I had been singing all day. At this point, i was lightheaded, and tired from singing so much and on an empty stomach, i was exhausted. But i looked at my cover of spirit, and knew that i could do it. So in front of the 10 judges, i grabbed the microphone and sang my heart out. Once it was over, i smiled and did a light curtsy, and walked to turn off the tape. they all clapped, and shouted good job. Then the head judge came down and said "well your in" I GOT IN!!!!! then one judge ( my hot teacher) said "wait, do we get to vote?" i laughed, and told him he wont get an autograph if he wasn't going to be nice. so, I am going to be singing hands at my senior high school graduation. Pretty cool huh? so, everyone have a great day/night amanda the graduation singin angel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 17:31:11 -0500 (EST) From: Jennie Anderson Subject: * Vote for New J-Card Picture! ok, you've all heard about the new "rarest" tape compilation that jodi is working on. well, i'm designing the J-card for it and i'd love your input! i've received pictures from several people on the list and have put many of the ones i think will work well on a web site. there are 9 of them and i would like for you to visit the page and vote on which one you like best. please only vote for one! http://expert.cc.purdue.edu/~jenniea/jewelvote.html i will no longer accept votes after Sunday, April 2, 9:00pm EST (my birthday!!! gosh, i'm getting so old!!). thanks for your help! jennie ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <><> Now I love to hear that warm summer rain Just to hear it fall is the sweetest sounding thing And to see it fall on your simple country dress Is like Heaven to me I must confess -Ben Harper, "Steal My Kisses" ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <><> ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 18:18:55 EST From: HERSH111@aol.com Subject: * NJC: Angel in trouble Hey EDA'S! I subscribe to Cowboys & Indians magazine (especially after becoming interested in horses and rodeos thanks to Jewel! LOL) and in the May 2000 issue on page 55 there is a pic of Jewel and Ty at a blackjack table at the Bud Light Cup World Professional Bull Riding Championships in Las Vegas. I think Ty is playing and Jewel is just sort of watching, clutching her bottle of water with a little smirk on her face. LOL I KNEW subscribing to this magazine would pay off dern it! There are a few ads with Ty in them and a whole article about how he did at the championships--mostly in cowboy-speak but a good article. LOL And at one point it goes to say... "But between Murray and the championship stood one final ride on Panhandle Slim, one of the tour's most infamous bulls. Panhandle Slim's treacherous technique of dropping his head and rolling his shoulders literally catapults riders into the air. Murray knew this better than most. Twice during last year's tour the bull had bested him. Now, everyone in the convention center--including Murray's squeeze, singing sensation Jewel--got deadly quiet as Murray climbed on the back of his adversary." At any rate, he rode perfectly and won. I think it was because Jewel was there.
