Hi ~ there's another incident that people may be thinking of... and it was when Jewel was on The Tonight Show with jay Leno at the same time as Howard Stern. (It's possible that I'm confused and it was Letterman, but I'm pretty sure it was Leno.) Actually on that occassion Jewel and Stern got along very well ~ even to the point of him asking her to the opening of his "Private Parts" movie. (He claimed later that Jewel's PR person nixed the idea.) The gross, gross man (thanks to Bif Naked for the phrase) that night was the U.S. poltical commentator, James Carville, who was obsessing over Jewel's breasts. It was Carville, and not Stern, who failed to be a gentleman that night. As far as the song Adrian goes, when I first met Steve Poltz he told me that Jewel and he didn't know any Adrians when they wrote the song, and since my name is Adrian, he joked the song was about me (he even told fans at the March '97 Vancouver concert during an autograph session that Adrian was about me). I think Jewel talked very open and frankly about her new careerpath. She has reached already so many nice goals that Jewel has to really think what she wants to accomplish in the future. She has doubts about touring and she is also guessing whether to have hits or be herself the artist that doesn't care about hits. She compared Madonna as a symbol who has a lot of hits, but was really wondering if she has a good life. Jewel honestly told Candince that she wants to be happy with friends and she is taking a break to get things clear for herself. She was very grateful for the concerts and the difference that she makes for her fans by her songs. She is just in a stage of her career where other things seems to be important as well. The song Break me is a very passionate song where i really loved every word Jewel sung. It always surprises me how Jewel touches me personally with her great songs. Jewel has to be wise and i hope this will implicite that Jewel keeps touring once in a while. I already look tremendously forward to her Austin City Limits concert. Once again, we have entered the Jersey City Walk as "Team EDAF", with a goal to top our previous pledge amount of $740 by at least $100. Multiple Sclerosis is a devastating disease that generally strikes young adults. As of now, there is NO KNOWN CURE. There are several ways you can participate in the MS Walk: - - EDAs in the NY/NJ area can join Team EDAF at beautiful Liberty State Park to walk 6.2 miles along the boardwalk in the shadow of the New York skyline, Ellis Island, and Lady Liberty herself. You need to raise at least $35 in pledges to participate in the walk (don't worry, it's much easier than it sounds). - - For other EDAs, there are walks going on all around the United States. Check the National MS Society's website at www.nmss.org for your local schedule. If any international EDAs know of similar events in other countries, please let us know! - - Even if walking isn't for your thing, you can still get involved!
