Hey I love the idea of Jewel with the Dixie Chicks!! She always says that she's afraid that some fans wouldn't be loyal if she came out with a country album-- ( I am definatley not included on that list) Maybe since the Dixie Chicks are pretty main stream, a duet with them would be a good crossover. However I am kinda hoping that Jewels next album is a rock album, with songs like Down. and Love me just leave me Alone, and race car driver-- and tons of New Stuff!! Spirit did not sell as well as planned..(I love the album I am just talking figures..) do you think that Atlantic will ask her do do another? Has Jewel given any clues? There is 2 pictures and an article about him from page 70-75 and the name of the article is..... The Greatest Cowboy *Ever* I could type it out for everyone and post it later -- it doesn't mention Jewel but in one of the paragraphs it says....It's a spring afternoon in north-central Texas, a few miles south of Stephenville, where Murray owns a 1861-acre ranch. I guess the guy has a good effect on Jewel's song writing in a way. I'm new to the list and this is my first post. You seem like a great community, who supports each other a lot. I'm happy to finally being part of this community and so expand my knowledge of Jewel even more. I live in Peru, South America, and it's very difficult for me to get Jewel stuff because she's not very famous here, they only sell POY and Spirit in Peru! But luckily, on a trip to the States I bought lots of Jewel singles and other albums! I'm just starting to get Angelfood thanks to a great friend in England. I became a Jewel fan since I heard Foolish Games, which almost made me cry. I fell in love with that song and since then I've been finding more about Jewel and becoming a bigger fan! If anyone wants to visit my homepage, the URL is: http://members.xoom.com/hotelangeljk/Main.html I would really appreciate if you do :) It has a lot of things you'll enjoy! Thanks! If you're gonna cut and paste, at least give credit where credit is due. Almost all of our info has come from somewhere else, I have no problem with people putting it in their own words. I did that myself. To copy from someone else is wrong. Maybe it's just me. Maybe no one else cares about this. But please, if you're making a webpage, make it yours. Don't just regurgitate what others have written. That's my vent for this week. It is not true. I just got off the phone with Jewel's management and I was told that she is NOT confirmed for this concert, no matter what the printed tickets, the Wembley box office or web sites such as Pollstar etc say. I was watching my Jewel tape, which has appearances from '95 to '96, and one of the cooler parts is when she is on Conan O' Brian. She is singing "You Were Meant For Me". Except.....she doesn't sing the lyrics "Dreams last, so long.....", instead she skips directly to,"I know you loved me.....". I haven't been reading a lot of my mail lately, and maybe you guys have mentioned this. But please fill me in on the story behind "adding" that lyric. She's listed there with a sample of her album. Mossy Kilcher is Jewel's Aunt. She was the first child of Jewel's grandparents (sister to Jewel's dad Atz). Her album "Northwind Calling" was originally a double album when released in 1977, with all the songs included on one CD now. It's original Alaskan folk songs & all performances are on acoustic instruments, some of them home-made. It was an early musical influence on Jewel, which may be of interest to her fans. There's also some interesting photos of the Homer Homestead & Kilcher Family (including an old Jewel photo) in the CD booklet. Jewel fans may find Mossy's album interesting as a document of "Kilcher Family Music" prior to Jewel's generation. Jewel comes from a family filled with musicians & singers. I'm a little prejudiced, because I digitally remastered this for CD release, but I like this album's simple charm. You can find Mossy Kilcher's CD at the jeweljk.com store.
