We've already fixed the links on Jewel's site to go directly to the correct page, but if you go to AmericanGreetings.com main page, you'll need to click the box in the upper right hand corner that says "Celebrity Smooch". This is simple enough to do, but if you prefer going directly to the page where you can send Jewel a "SmoochMail", go to this URL directly: http://www.americangreetings.com/promo/cs/index.pd Websitemasters, please update your links accordingly if you want it to be even easier for everyone to go directly to the "Celebrity Smooch" page. Thanks to everyone who takes a minute to send Jewel a SmoochMail between now & Valentine's Day! It's FREE & very simple to do. Every time you do it, you will be helping to raise the contribution to HGH's Clearwater Project. Let's help Jewel win the $25,000 bonus donation for Clearwater by making her the most "smoochable" of all the participants! You can do it! In reply to the questions that were asked of me, My names Peter, I'm a young 26 and I live in Brighton. I didn't see Jewel at the RAH last year, because it was shortly after a break up and move, so I wasn't really looking out for such things at the time. My general music choice is predominantly female solo singer/songwriters but there is no music that I dislike. I'm usually an active member and I don't see why this list will be any different from any others. So hello to Lynsey, Ian, Debbie, Cara, Marc and Naomi and to everyone else, I look forward to getting to know you all and divulging my secrets. Her opening act will be our bud Jason Mraz who played the side-stage here in SD on Jewel's Spirit tour. Both are incredible performers, and having them both together in one show promises to be an incredible evening. We were hoping to head down on Friday, but it looks like we are going on Wednesday. Hope to see some of you down there :) Also we have a new page up dedicated to the Project Warmth LRC we had on Jan 15th here in SoCal. That's right, I'm doing the age/locale survey for the entire EDA list. So, if you would be so kind as to e-mail me your age and your state (if in the USA) or country (if outside the USA), it will go towards the final results of this survey. We had a HUGE turnout last year, and I hope for the same. And don't worry. All the information you send is strictly CONFIDENTIAL. No one will know who is how old or where they are from. REMEMBER to include BOTH: 1) your age 2) your location (state for US, country for outside US) If there is more than one EDA in your household, feel free to e-mail me all the ages and the location in one e-mail. The results will be posted in about two weeks. Hope you all enjoy this again. I'll just brace myself for the 200+ e-mails coming tomorrow :-). Thanks. It was really neat. She started playing (I think it was) Little Sister, and stopped after a bar or so, and looked out and said "Um... Does anyone have the booklet to my first CD? I... can't seem to remember some lyrics." or somesuch. Then this guy started waving his arms, and so she beckoned him to come forward with it, and I think he expected to hand it to her and walk offstage, but she had him hold it there in front of her while she sang. When he got up there, all the men in the audience started booing. "Why are you booing him?" Jewel laughed. (Poltz did a similar thing in the pre-show... Can't remember the circumstances, but he had a girl come up on stage, and he poured her a glass of wine, and everything. Seems like the women booed then, too.) Though the chances of a repeat of this happening are pretty slim... I have resolved never to go to her concerts unless I have the CD Booklets!!!! ;) Anyway, Jewel forgetting those lyrics is something I'll always remember from that concert. (Shoreline ampitheatre/Mtn. View, CA/ June 29 1999. - still got my ticket right here. ) Ian ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 22:51:48 -0500 From: Jack Joseph Schiller Subject: * Worth While to Read if Near Cinci. OH Tomorrow I am going to make an announcement that I hope will excite anyone around the tri-state that is on this list. I am planning an event on Feb. the 12th that would be well worth your while to read about tomorrow. But I wanted to send this e-mail out first as a test (of the list, not fellow EDA's), and to let everyone know some things about me before you hear about my idea. My name is Jack and I am a Senior MIS (Management Information Systems) at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I am thankful that I have a job lined up already, and it is in Cincinnati, so this offering tomorrow does have a small selfish (no negative connotation please) intent of getting to know some tri-state EDAs. As far as activities are concerned here we go: soccer, skiing (water/snow), rock climbing (in and outdoor), hiking, paint ball, fishing, rollerblading, broomball, etc. etc. ... I will try just about anything. And this weekend I am going to learn (GOD willing) how to snowboard. I am involved in Campus Crusade for Christ on Campus here, which is a non-denominational Christian organization. I also lead a Bible-study. And if I have not hit on anything in common with you yet ... I have a passion for reading and writing poetry ... AND I have a veritable amount of respect for Jewel along with a deep appreciation for her poetry and music. So please "stay tuned" for my announcement tomorrow, I think it will be well worth your time. God Bless.
