I was wondering if anyone has taken any pics of Jewel at concerts, signings, etc... I am starting a collection of real glossy pictures of Jewel. If anyone wants to help me out I might be able to send you a angelfood tape. I already have pics from the NY coconuts signing but anything else is welcome. Thanks a lot!!! I thought I'd let all you die-hard Jewel/Movie buffs know I found a website that sells original Ride with the Devil movie posters. You can find them at http://www.dvdexpress.com Do a keyword search of "ride with the devil". It's running about $18 and when I checked around 9pm Central Time on Monday, they had 16 posters left. I've gotta really hand it to the EDAs, performers, and their friends who attended the show. You all kept the place clean! :D Amazing! The LRC went really smooth considering there was alot of miscommunication between the performers and the host about what time they should have arrived and jerry rigging the sound system to record and people arriving earlier than expected(I didn't mind Gerrit :). Even though I started late (the show was suppose to start at 6pm but didn't start till around 6:45) our very own EDA Joe opened the show with is set of songs. Jason Mraz got us all relaxed. Carlos and Toca fortunately found the place after their manager showed up before them...hehe... a little drama for the night. Will Carlos and Toca be able to make it to the Living Room Concert on time? (dramatic old radio show music) :D We also had the pleasure of Christiane Lucas play a couple of her songs. As a finale, Carlos and Toca played a couple more songs to end the night at 10pm. I recorded the majority of the show on my Tascam 4 track and I'll be making a master CD off of my computer in the next couple weeks. SO...if anybody wants a tape tree of the show, gimme a reply and some time. With the aid of my fairweather friend and last minute fellow EDA Paul, we found the Casbah and got to the show. Unfortunately, we got there just as Anya Marina was doing her last song. ;) There was a break and then Steve came on for a solo set w/ the one-day-he'll-move-to-San-Diego-and-out-of-Los-Angeles Doug Pettibone. It wasn't as good or as long as the Java Joes shows, but I liked it. He did his 858 song which everybody cheered for-if you don't know the story now, I ain't gonna tell ya but give you a hint: it has to do with an unexpected phone # area code change- and a bunch of One Left Shoe songs. He did YWMFM with the Dave Cassidy story and to finish his set, he did Star Wars Song (Yeah!). The Dragons played and I could hear their set just fine outside. :) In the last couple songs, Steve came up and sang with them on a couple cover songs. At about midnight Steve, Stinky, and John Castro get on stage. Doc. got on stage a little later. About the end of the set, Steve got Doug and Doc. to trade off solos on the same guitar strapped on Doc. It was kewel. The show ended with Dick's Automotive with Doug, the Dragons, and the Rugburns all on stage and everybody had to get out as fast as they can cause it was 1:30 in the mornin'. I wander outside and Steve is full on buzzed but I come up and say hi. He recognized me and gave me a hug. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he didn't kiss me like he was kissing everybody in the front row earlier in the night. After he hugs me, he grabbed my cap and signed the inside of the bill. I never was gonna wash it anyways. :) By this time I was really tired and I grabbed Paul and left. With a little driving and persuading, Paul got a motel room for the night and I headed home from an awsome weekend. Again Thanks to all that came!! :D It was a REALLY good show and I thank the EDAs and their friends, the HGH folks who stopped by and for everyone who gave clothes to the Project Warmth. Our EDAF West people Jason and Lori are going to be distibuting the clothes around southern Califorina. I was thinking about the Backstreet Boys *hehe* and I remembered how you had to pay like a yearly fee to be a member of the Backstreet Boys list. And my poll question is. . . *drumroll please* If you had to pay a yearly membership fee to be an EDA, would you still be on this list? Please email all responses to AdamSandlerLvR@juno.com with the subject POLL. Thanks again! Poll will be closed on January 25th. Honestly, I really never took notice of him until tonight. I read the lyrics to some of his songs and I find them humorously brilliant. He was also born in Nova Scotia...yay! He reminds me of Bob Dylan....which is totally cool. Anyway, I know I'll probably never get a reply from him, but I'd love to just tell him I like his stuff. If anyone can help me, let me know. Later gaters, Angie List Moderator Note: newer subscribers to this list may not realize this, but Steve Poltz is an integral part of Jewel music, both creatively and in performance. He took Jewel under his wing when she was just starting, has co-written many of her songs (including You Were Meant For Me) and has toured with her as an opening act (solo and with his former band, The Rugburns) and a member of Jewel's band on the recent Spirit tour. Posts about Steve, while in most cases are NJC (No Jewel Content), from this point on will be allowed, as long as they are about his music and/or his professional relationship with Jewel, and as long as it does not get out of hand. - Mike ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #21 **************************
