I'm not sure if this question has been asked before (it probably has, sorry) But does anyone know when Jewel's video "Life Uncommon" will be available in Australia?? Also, maybe this question is a long-shot too, but I'd love to know where to find out when RWTD is out in Oz too. I've been told not to expect it any time before March at least. God! I'm going mad, us Australian's are so deprived!!! HELLO EDAs, I would just like to know, how deep is your love for Jewel? What things have you bought, what activities you have done, what concerts have you attended because of Jewel? Me, I would like to express my fanaticism by citing the things that I have bought (Since I can't go to her concerts yet, because she doesn't go to the Philippines) Okay here they are, Proofs of fanaticism: 1) Pieces Of You CD (Foolish Games single CD cover!) 2) Spirit cassette tape 3) Joy: A Holiday Collection CD 4) I made My own Jewel folder (yellow folder full of Jewel's pictures printed in computer paper, her information, her quotations, news handwritten by me, discography, song lyrics, my own personal note written in the second page of the folder, etcetera) 5) Seventeen magazine with Jewel in the cover (May 1999 issue) 6) "The Story Of Jewel" - presented by Pop Culture - this is a huge magazine-like book (paperback) with her face on the cover and facts about her life inside. 7) Jewel in Reader's Digest (the most recent thing added to my collection) 8) A diskette full of Jewel files! 9) A diskette with Jewel wallpapers… See, how's that? Can I be called fanatic? Perhaps. That's what my friends and family told me… Let me tell you something: I was not originally a Jewel fan… I just heard a song called "Foolish Games" in one of the cassette tapes in the province, and I loved it a lot. It's very melancholic… and I heard that the singer was someone called "Jewel"… "Jewel… what a name…" I was musically unaware then. And then time passed… and then by September 1998, I became a more musically aware person… I started watching MTV, listening to the radio and buying tapes. In April 1999, I started surfing the Internet… I got a list of the artists that I wished to know more about… and that includes Jewel… I surfed the UBL (Ultimate Band List) and searched for Jewel there. Here comes an enormous amount of websites poured over me… I picked the official website and started surfing. Then, I soon found out about her life… it was very tragic, yet very victorious… I started to like her life and it has become an inspiration to me. Then I bought Pieces of You CD. I loved the messages of her songs and I moved on to know more about her. Then I realized that I was a fanatic, until the New Millennium! There it is my story,, I hope that you can share your stories with me on how you developed into a more humane person through the inspirational music of Jewel. Goodbye, GOD BLESS! Magno S. Elento, Jr. P.S. Can I ask for a favor? Do you have some sample Angelfood that you can send to me? I would just like you to know that Jewel placed 5 songs in the MTV TOP 2000 compiled by MTV Asia! This countdown started in October 25, 1999 and ended in New Year's Eve, December 31, 1999! Sadly, her chart positions are in the lower half of the chart… Her highest chart position is #130. You Were Meant For Me. VJ Sarah described it as a "refreshing song." Take a look: #130. "You Were Meant For Me" #920. "Foolish Games" #1004. "Jupiter (Swallow The Moon)" #1695. "Hands" #1908. Other stores in the company that should also carry it are as follows: Coconuts, Saturday Matinee, Planet Music, Strawberries, The Wall, Camelot, FYE. Some smaller stores may not stock more than one copy at a time, so if it is sold you may need to wait a week or so for it to come back in!! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Jan 2000 07:00:30 PST From: "Nico Pham" Subject: * Re: what the...? I know some tapes like that always sound so fake... ya know what i mean? also, i am kinda doing a teach yoruself guitar (insert severe laughter here) and i was wodnering, i know some songs you can play if you only know a few chords, so what jewel songs only require a few chords? any at all? thanks, Amanda (aka caitadaire) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Jan 2000 17:54:17 EST From: PointeRose@aol.com Subject: * Jewel quote Hey, does anyone know where this quote is from? Hopefully we'll get one soon! >>> Hi , All . I was ALSO Very disappointed by the " no show " for the announced VH1 Behind the Music ( B.T.M. ) , supposedly to have aired in August . Shortly after I " heard " the announcement ( on this list ? ) that Jewel was Artist of the Month on VH1 for August , I heard that SOMEONE ELSE was the artist of the month ( can't remember anymore , who , but not Jewel ) - --From VH1 directly . I was also VERY DISAPPOINTED that the promised VH1 Christmas Special with Jewel , also announced on this list , I believe , ALSO Never materialized ( unless I missed something ) . If maybe Alan ( Mr.BB ) could address these two mysteries , I'm sure that many more than the three of us are still wondering what happened ...
