Not to drag out this subject of Jewel's hair, but to me, hair dying, highlighting, or lightening is no big deal. So why do some of us seem to make a big deal out of it? Is it because she's famous? And not "being true" to herself? I'm sorry, but who a person is goes way beyond what their physical appearance is. By not being true to herself, she'd have to go against her morals and beliefs to please someone else. It's not a physical thing! So... let's say that Jewel was to get a tattoo. A small, tasteful tattoo on her ankle, abdomen, or above her chest, to the side? Would we make a big deal out of it? Probably. Why? I have no clue... plenty of people have tattoos, (like me. I have a pretty tribal armband... bigger than what most girls get), and we don't make a big deal out of it. "Nice tattoo, where'd you get it done." Is more than likely our reaction to friends, or anyone we see on the streets. But if Jewel were to get one, we'd be like "OH MY GOD!! I Can't Believe She Did That!!!!!!!!!!" Can someone tell me why? (enough already) Guys, Does it really matter? Is it that big of a deal what color her hair is? Aren't we supposed to like her because of what is on the inside? I know I do! That is all that matters to me. It should be to you guys to or guess what you aren't true fans!! I think we should drop the subject because I'm sure everyones parents taught them years ago, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover!! Most of you already opened up the book and then closed it TO judge it by it's cover!! Sorry if I sound too cocky that kinds of stuff just gets to me!! Is this the issue that was in the US a few months ago? Or is it a whole new digest with new pics? =) Please help answer that. Thanks! -John ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000 19:19:21 EST From: BoeZanDoll@aol.com Subject: * My 2 cents on this hair issue I know this conversation is getting old, but here's my view: I'm a big buff on the whole "be yourself, natural is true beauty, society's standards of prettiness are stupid" things, but as a dirty mousse color for my top, I dyed my hair blonde once to see if blondes really did have more fun. In actuality, I tended to act more ditzy than usual. Later, I dyed my hair a vibrant red color...not natural looking, but I absolutely love it! I am convinced that everywhere you go there should always be a crazy red head to make life more interesting. I'm a pretty random person, so I took it upon myself to be that wierdo. Turns out, my hair color kind of gave me a boost on my creative side. I'm even more random now and I love it!! Being an insane redhead makes my personality improve as well as my songs I write. I'm much more willing to try to new things. You get the point. Anyway, maybe most people don't realize tht hair color can affect a person...and i think Jewel looks cute as a blonde. It makes her seem innocent, yet bold...like a Susan B. Anthony of the new millenuim, only the B stands for barbie, because she reminds me so much of the cute little doll that every one loves. That's just my opinion. There. It's out. ~~Annie, the crazzy angel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 00:48:03 GMT From: "~* cymbaline *~" Subject: * Whatever happened to Jewel's "Behind the Music"? Back in August (or whatever it was), when Jewel was VH1's Artist of the Month, weren't they supposed to premeire a Behind The Music, of Jewel? Whatever happened to that? I've seen quite a few new BTM's, but not Jewel. Am I mistaken that they made a Behind the Music? I was thinking the same thing the other day. I know that someone mentioned that VH1 would be doing one, but it never came around. I was under the impression that it was going to air the week they aired Storytellers for the first time. Well, I guess Jewel wasn't the best candidate...no drug , alchohol, suicide, depression, or weight problems, what would they do it about? Hehehe, just kidding. Hopefully we'll get one soon!
