Thanks to JewelRocks, Alan Mr. BB and Mike Connel list manager for bringing up this show. Just more proof that, as I have stated numerous times, that Jewel's peak was 1996(in terms of live performances especially) and her live shows and live reputation have declined and suffered since. The setlist and performance at this show kicks the crap out of every single show on the last couple of tours. Hopefully at some point relatively soon in her career arc, Jewel will regain some of that lost passion and creativity. I'm certainly no authority on this matter , but I wanted to reply a couple of months ago , when this info. was posted on this list , and didn't manage to at that time , so I'd like to with this " 2nd chance ! " :-) I believe that the 5'5.75" figure was probably one used for " promotional purposes ." From all of the performances I have studied on TV , with close up filming , I would say that she is quite short ( without heels ! ) . If she is any bit at all taller than 5'3" -- 5'4' at the very most -- I would be EXTREMELY surprised . 5'5.75" is a typical height for females , and she is definitely shorter than average ( imo ) . :-) --Joe ===== joeshenk@yahoo.com My Home Page (Currently on KOSOVO ,etc.) : http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill/congress/8420 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Dec 1999 21:34:45 EST From: Mgsju@aol.com Subject: * Jewel cover of Leaving on a Jet Plane? Odds are that the clip you heard was actually Chantal Kreviazuk's cover of the song. It was featured in the movie "Armageddon" and can be found on the soundtrack. Take care.
