It says it will be on The Family Channel on Tuesday December 14th at 10:00pm ET and lasts an hour. It also says it will be on a second time, same channel, but on December 23rd at 10:00pm. Please check your local listings for other time zones. (The TV Guide for next week lists the show, but does not mention any of the stars) Mike P.S. The text below calls Jewel a Grammy Award winner. She's never won a Grammy. (should have though! Lee Ann Rimes stole it) TSO: The Ghosts of Christmas Eve Atlantic recording artists Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), Grammy Award winner and pop music sensation Jewel and Tony Award winner Michael Crawford headline an hour-long television spectacular. Hosted and narrated by veteran stage actor Ossie Davis, the fairytale epic underscores the power of love during the holidays and brings together some of the most extraordinary musical talent ever to share the stage. The award-winning Trans-Siberian Orchestra performs symphonic rock works blending the theatricality of Andrew Lloyd Webber, the poetic storytelling of Harry Chapin, the thematic drive of Yes and the raw edge of Aerosmith. Filmed entirely on location at the highly ornate, historic Loews Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, NJ, the special tells the story of a 14-year-old runaway who yearns to return home and be with her family for the holidays. Seeking a refuge from the cold weather, she breaks into an abandoned theater and instead of merely providing temporary shelter, the experience changes her life forever. Through loose pages that fall out of the young girl's diary, viewers learn of her desire to return home to her family. But, without a bus ticket or a dime to her name, the youngster takes solace in the quiet theater and falls asleep. The caretaker, portrayed by Davis, takes stage right of the ornate theater and with the flip of a switch sets the performances in motion. The runaway awakens to find a bus ticket and some money slipped inside her diary and leaves the theater with happy memories and her chance to return home for the holidays. Holiday selections performed include: TSO's "Come All Ye Faithful," "Good King Joy" and "Christmas Canon;" Jewel performing "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" (from her new album, "Joy: A Holiday Collection") and Tony Award winner Michael Crawford's unforgettable rendition of "O Holy Night" (from "Michael Crawford: A Christmas Album"). ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Dec 1999 08:34:05 -0600 From: Subject: * Angelfood Give-a-way contest I just wanted to give everyone a fair chance at winning some angelfood for christmas... Hi all, Having a great time here in San Diego. I want to quickly update you on a few things & since I have limited time & type slooooooow, I'm going to mix various info together here. First, Jewel's website calendar has been significantly updated with many more TV broadcasts (& repeats of older broadcasts) listed. Please check it for the latest accurate info. I'm getting a few questions repeatedly, so here's the answers to those: > Is it too late to have my name with the card being given to Jewel > from the EDAs?>> No, in fact you have until December 23rd, which is the day we all break for the holidays. It's been suggested (& we agree) that all the EDAs who are so generously donating to HGH/Clearwater will be listed on a seperate sheet that will be included with Jewel's card. This serves two excellent puposes. One, it allows the card design team to concentrate on creating a beautiful card & message without being bogged down trying to cram hundreds of names on it. And two, it allows many more EDAs who participated to have their names included with the card AND to have their contribution added to the total by Christmas. So YES, there's still time to have your name included. > I'm getting an Error message when trying to donate. What can I do? For people visiting the HGH site to donate, we're aware a few international EDAs have had difficulty donating online. It seems Australia has had the most problems & we're not sure why. Here's a solution for people outside the US that get error messages. Try again first, but if that doesn't work fill out the form as you would normally, but change the country field to USA. Since you aren't ordering anything, this should solve the problem & not effect your end. HGH will still have all the correct info needed for this project & your donation should work just fine. > Is the Jewel 1999 Christmas ornament still available? No, they are sold out. Gone. New one next year. > Where is the "Joy" VIDEO available? The official Joy video (aka Sessions at West 54th St) is only available for purchase from Jewel's website store & is not going to be in stores. You can also get it from some PBS stations for a $100 donation. At the moment, we do have it available SEPERATELY for $19.95 for phone or FAX ordering ONLY. Phone JMerch at 1-877-295-3935. If you have any questions, simply write them at customerservice@jeweljk.com. That's about it today. For those in the San Diego area, come on by Java Joe's in OB tomorrow night (Thursday) for Cindy Lee Berryhill. I'd enjoy your company! I'll also be there Saturday night for Elizabeth Hummel. Eric posted in regard to an online order he placed at Jewel's website store: >If you do use a credit card and >you end up with an error message, it's entirely possible that your card was >charged, but the order didn't go through. I know this because when I tried >to order the ornament/sessions package a couple of weeks ago, I was charged >for each time I tried to order; even when I got an error message. To make >matters worse, JMerch has denied to me that they are having problems, so you >will most likely have to take the matter up with your credit card company >(as I did). Eric Knowing the JMerch folks personally & seeing first hand how they ALWAYS go out of their way to please customers, I naturally found this post hard to believe, so I walked across the hall to JMerch & showed them this post. Here is their reply: Hi all EDAs, I received a message from Alan about his concern for an EDA getting charged more than once on his credit card over the Jewel store web page. I would like to let everyone know that if this has ever happened to anyone in the past or happens in the future, we will take the time to find out what happened and resolve the issue ASAP. No one was ever told to "take it up with your credit card company". I am the one that personally pulls the orders down off the web site store and I do keep an eye out for double charges or double orders. I will then contact that person to let them know they were double charged and we will credit their card back. As far as the current inquiry, I looked up Eric Levenchuck and saw many attempts to order, but only one charge. I am not saying that he didn't get charged more than once, I am saying that all we show on our system is one charge. If anyone ever gets double charged when you receive your credit card bill, just fax it to us and circle the double charge and we will credit your card back IMMEDIATELY. Our fax number is 1-760-602-4886. This is a rare issue and has happened only twice in the past four months. One time we caught it and the other time the customer called us because she saw two charges on her bill and we credited her card that day. Please contact us directly with any JMerch questions or concerns & we'll help you. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Michael =) customerservice@jeweljk.com ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V4 #732 ***************************
