Thanks. I liked the part about where you found the Jewel CD on the top of that one box you looked at! Makes you wonder. I think if people payed attention, they would find this sort of thing happening more. Life is miraculous. We are not so separate from the world or each other--we are one. If you set a glass of milk on a table with one hand, it is easy to pick it up with the other if you just pay a small amount of attention to which hand you are using. People are this way too. "Hands" of God. Like Jewel says: "we are reflections of God...". Wow, life is awesome. Have a good one, and happy Jewelling! Thanks a lot from Matt and Jewel Questions I have this theory, that if we're told we're bad Then that's the only idea we'll ever have But maybe if we are surrounded in beauty Someday we will become what we see 'Cause anyone can start a conflict it's harder yet to disregard it I'd rather see the world from another angle We are everyday angels Taken from jewels song I'm Sensitive Jewelquestions@hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Nov 1999 02:07:52 -0800 (PST) From: Jeremy Hodgins Subject: * Australian article about Jewel Dear EDA's, I found this article entitled "Jewel has many facets" in Monday's version of the Daily Telegraph. It explores many thing, including Jewel's early life and her thoughts on fame and being a celebrity. Here is an interesting paragraph on how Jewel became know as just Jewel, and not Jewel Kilcher. "I wanted the almbum to say Jewel Kilcher on the cover, but they misunderstood and thought I wanted it to just say Jewel. They told me it was too late to change the cover but that I shouldn't be too upset. They said they expected the album to sell only about 300 000 copies. They said nobody would notice and they'd fix the name on the second album. Of course, when an album sells 11 million copies, you become Jewel" It also mentions Jewel's change in attitude when she was about 18. "I like to call it my rewiring phase...finally, I told myself 'Jewel, nobody's going to come in and save you. You'r going to have to get over this by yourself. Your going to have to start to do something for yourself" Just some interesting stuff, and it was nice to see her in Australian papers! :-) Jeremy **The Scorpion, Peace Loving, and Kind & Gentle Angel!** My ICQ number is 42872979. Isn't it a little demanding of everyone to expect Alan to get every little detail of Jewel's schedule on the list? As Alan has said many times, he is volunteering to be Jewel's liaison to the list. We have to remember that Alan's entire life is not Jewel or the EDA list, and if he misses something, especially a last minute scheduling, we can't get on his case. Think about it, if Alan stops doing this, who will? Who would want to? Thanks to Alan and Jewel's organization, we had the opportunity to go to Sessions, in fact they pushed to add more people and did. Many of you got to go to Storytellers. The opportunity's are here because Jewel's organization, through Alan, bring them to us. They could easily say this is some wacky group of obsessed fans and stop cooperating with the list. As we've said many times, Jewel is obligated to us only in the sense that we are loyal fans, no more, no less. We have no right to be pushy or insist on anything from her or her organization, especially Alan. Alan does a great job of keeping us up to date, why don't we thank him instead of griping at him. When your preparing your donations and card for Jewel, think of Alan's contribution in keeping you as close to her as you are. She could be like other bands and charge to be in her fan club. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. You can imagine that waiting for Jewel on the show makes up for the lack of humor... oh ok, he ain't that bad. I was deathly afraid that Jewel would make a mistake in the song (not lyrics, but something with her voice) or something would happen she couldn't control. Luckily all went great. She looked hot, I also think the lip-gloss looks great on her. Too bad we couldn't see much of the audience. Would have been nice to have seen some of you as well. Glad I taped it :) Stephan Harkema fly.to/jeweldutchfanclub - ------------------------ There are nightmares on the sidewalks There are jokes on TV There are people selling thoughtlessness With such casualty ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V4 #715 ***************************
