Hi all, Well...yet again, i'm asking for a true angel(s?) to make a TV angels much like Radio angels. The year has been beyond hectic and finding time or energy to stay up until 12:30 to watch Jewel on Leno or Letterman is next to impossible. I would record it but I don't have a VCR in my dorm so...y'know...? Anywhoo, Even when i had time to see Sessions, they didn't show it on my PBS station. I'm desperate to see jewel on TV but I just can't. So please help me! Help the other angels, too! Some of us just have such busy lives...almost as busy as Jewel's! However, I now have 11 things signed by Jewel, nine of which I had done in person, one is the first batch ANWA book that I assume to be genuine and the last one is a picture I got from a collector who I trust. Every thing I have shows slightly different "J's" but even the "ewel" varies. Sometimes she really signs so you can tell it's a "ewel" and other times it's just a line with a few spikes in it :-) The "J" variations can be differing sizes of the two loops to even a hook-type lower loop. The thing is her signature would be so easy to forge unless you get it yourself you'll always wonder a bit. My best advice is to suspend your disbelief and just enjoy what you got (or are getting). As those who have been to Tammy and my house knows we collect a few autographs from other stars, and what I tell people is if they aren't genuine I don't want to know it :-) -- Rob In a message dated 11/28/99 11:32:16 AM Eastern Standard Time, CaitAdaire@aol.com writes: >Out of all the signed autographs i have seen, hardly anyof em look anything > alike. > in almoost every single one her J is made different... not just a tad > different but VERY different. Well, as I'm sure we all know, MrBB has been kind enough to offer to give our gift consisting of a card and donations to Jewel for Christmas. I've been thinking this one over for a couple of weeks now, and I came to this: wouldn't it be nice if one of us EDAs could give our gift to Jewel to represent all of us? I mean, I don't know how it would happen, but it seems like it would mean even more to Jewel if she was handed a donation from the EDA's by an EDA. I realize this most likely would not happen, but it was just a thought. - -Nicole:) angel on horseback ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 13:39:16 EST From: JewelAng@aol.com Subject: * Carnivore chords...I know some one asked for them.. Carnivore by Jewel Kilcher Tabbed by Buster Payne and Michelle Kady Note: Heavy accents on specific stings work well and tend to sound more like Jewel's version. Example: The 5th string should be either plucked or heavily accented while playing the "C" chord durring the Intro and first few verses of the song. And likewise the 6th string should be accented in an Em chord. In the begining part of the chorus,(Em - C), I've found that strong downstrokes with a few up strokes mixed in sound good!) Listen to the song and just try your best to play what you hear. But relax! Don't worry too much about playing EXACTLY what Jewel's playing. Have fun with it. C Em C Em So much space can fit in a sigh, more than words can say. C Em G I'm left here with my hands all akward, trying to win D (repeat) space. I used to know you, but not anymore. Your substance has been subtracted, word by word. D C Silence in my ears where once you offered your D C conviction, your promises are dry beads that crack with no stalgia. C Em C That's all right, that's ok. Had no business D C giving myself to you anyway. I'll be carful next time for sure.. Em C And I'll never trust my pink fleshy heart... Em C D C D never trust my pink fleshy heart to a ...car--ni--vor........... Em to a carnivor. Your soul is an ink stain. Your perfection is a mend. (??) Your as fragile as your thoughtlessness, strong as you can bend. You could only believe in angry oaths, had all your high hopes through a telescope. Lavender haunted you so I could only laugh in yellow. (Said you've lived with farther than)?? ingenious subtleties and slipped through the fingers of half of good and evil. Well, I did it before but now I won't do it again. This time I'll be my own best friend and take back my songs and my poetry, this time I won't be so easy to read.. and I'll never trust my pink fleshy heart, never trust my pink fleshy heart, never trust my pink fleshy heart to a carnivor....to a carnivor, to a carnivor. CHORD PROGRESSION: (intro) C - Em (X2) (verse) C - Em (X3) then... G - D (X1) (strum verse chord prgression X2) then.... (Bridge) D - C (X2) (Pre-Chorus) C - Em - C - D (Chorus) Em - C (X2) D - C - D - Em Then, start from the top.... Enjoy! I know that a lot of people spend a long time making the tabalture and I didn't want to make it look like I did it, or not be able to give credit. So now, I wish that I had it on my website. So if there is anyone that has like a LOT of tabs/chords for Jewel songs and wouldn't mind me using them on my site email me. I would give FULL credit and everything, so don't worry. So please email me if you're interested! Hello Edas! I'm new to the group but a collector of all things Jewel for a long time & some friends finally convinced me to join up. (Hi Linda & Steph!) I have some questions I hope you can answer. About 4 months ago I found 2 unusual CDs of Jewel in a used record store in Greenwich Village. They were in regular CD cases with a plain red Atlantic insert in the fronts that was blank other than the logo for Atlantic. The CDs have just a plain white surface on top with JEWEL TEST PRESSING 10/28/94 written in blue marker. Both are in the same handwriting & both CDs are identical in content. It's not with CDR labels, but real CDs with the white surface fused to the CD so its not a CDR. Heres the great part. They are songs from Pieces Of You but different!!!! Some songs have loud clapping after that is not on the released CD & some songs are not the same mixes on the album. It has a different song order after the first 2 songs. Near You Always is a different version & Who Will Save Your Soul has a loud organ part that is very different from the album version. Foolish Games & Painters have different violin parts too. Does anyone know what this is? I paid $50 for each. I think the store owner thought they were the same as Pieces Of You, but I noticed the difference right away. He said someone at Atlantic was liquidating his collection of promos & these were in there. Are they worth a lot? I never heard of this before & I can't find it listed in any Jewel discographys as a promo or anything like that. I would like to know more about them. Anyone? Now for my second question. I know Edas are buying a Christmas present for Jewel & I want to help & get my name on the card. How do I do it? Any help please? Sorry if this is common knowledge but can someone send me instructions? Is it too late?? Thank you Edas, Deanne ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 19:29:59 EST From: LeoBabe98@aol.com Subject: * chords again Hey EDA's!! i jsut sent for chords on Carnivore thanx to those who sent them!!!! now i would like chords for Jessica please!! if u have them send them :) this is a beautiful song!!! i love it!! thanx you guys!! love ya!!
