I mean there isn't much promotion you could do for a Christmas album, and it doesn't matter how much it sells anyway. The Christmas album would always show up every year around the holidays on the Pop Catalog..if you look at the Pop Catalog chart right now you would see that nearly half of them are christmas albums.. Sales for the album would definitely pick up next week, and then it would drop after Christmas right off the charts and it would show up on the Pop Chart next year. I don't think the album would get a platinum or a gold certification this year however ;(, maybe by next year :) - -shawn ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Nov 1999 11:57:22 EST From: W1GGY2@aol.com Subject: * Re: not watching RWTD & just looking Elizabeth writes: >But the worst >thing is, at the end of the article it said, "This movie is rated R. They gave it 4 N's (out of 5) for the review which is very good because they tend to be quite tough on movies. The article is also very good and it says nice things about Jewel's performance. The issue of NOW came out TODAY (Thursday) and will be gone very soon. It's a free paper and can be found in newspapers boxes all around Toronto (mostly at subway stops). I think they have the article online at http://www.now.com/issues/current/Ent/film.html Also, EYE (the other free weekly paper) has a 4 star (out of 5) review of RWTD.. so check that out. cya guys steve ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Nov 1999 18:49:22 EST From: BabyLindsay23@aol.com Subject: * help! It's from Jewel's brother Shane, who helps manage Higher Ground For Humanity & The Clearwater Project, which you all have been so generously supporting in your current "Giving Back To Jewel" Christmas present project. I think you'll be quite happy to hear how things are going with your wonderful project, so without further ado, I hand you over to Shane: From: Shane Kilcher To: The EDAs November 25th, 1999 Hello EDA's! My wife and her friends are all down in the kitchen cooking away, the kids are all trying their best to demolish the recently cleaned house, and I just came in from cleaning up the yard. I don't know if its some innate holiday spirit thing, the smell of some really good food cooking, or having friends and family gathered under one roof, but I'm positively infected with good cheer. I sat down to start calling friends and family who live far away, but first I wanted to write a note to all of you. I just got back from a trip to Chile, where a wonderful organization is working with the local government to start including community, the rainforest, and an environment based program (such as a tree planting campaign, etc) in public schools, particularly the ones in the poorer areas of Chile. I returned happy, but tired from the 15+ hour plane ride, to find the most wonderful "work" waiting on my desk. A pile of donations for the EDA/ClearWater project! And even though I had only intended to stop by the office quickly on my way home I sat down and started listing all your names and adding up the donations so far. So far you have already raised over $1,200 and the mail-in donations are only starting to trickle in! I'm positively and absolutely impressed, what an amazing group of people! I know Jewel is absolutely going to love your gift to her, and your gift to one lucky community that needs clean drinking water. I've decided that once she gets the card, I will help her type up all the names of the participants so she can post an email to the list thanking everyone by name who contributed to this project. You guys absolutely amaze me! I doubt there is another group of Angels like you in all the world. I know Jewel will be touched. Keep up the good work, and have a very happy Thanksgiving! Shane Kilcher - ---------------------------------------------------------------- So there you have it. The EDA have already contributed over $1200 toward HGH/Clearwater as of today! :-) For those of you who would enjoy participating in this EDA project, I'll repost the donation instructions below. Thanks so much to all who have already contributed & thanks to all who will soon contribute, helping to make the EDA total grow & in turn helping so many others less fortunate. Individually everyone can make a difference, but together we can achieve incredible things! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving & a wonderful weekend! Alan If you'd like to participate in the EDA "Giving Back To Jewel" HGH/Clearwater Project AND have your name listed on the "EDA Donation List" to be included with the EDA card we'll be giving to Jewel on Christmas, please follow the most convenient instructions for you: You can contribute directly to HGH/Clearwater either by mail or through the HGH website. You can determine what is most convenient. Here are the exact procedures to follow to be counted in the ongoing EDA total. PLEASE, follow these instructions carefully. If you do, we'll be able to periodically update you on how much the EDAs have contributed & provide the "card team" with an accurate list of all EDAs who participated. #1-For those who prefer mailing their contribution: You can send a check or money order. (Cash being sent through the mail is not recommended, but you can do it.) Please make any checks or money orders payable to: Higher Ground/Clearwater (Please DO NOT make them out to HGH, EDA Project, Jewel, or anything else!) Please write "EDA" in the memo line or in the mailing address as follows. Mail it directly to HGH at: Higher Ground For Humanity Attention: EDA (<-don't forget this line!) PMB #302 300 CVD #108A Carlsbad, CA 92008 USA #2 For those who prefer the ease of using a credit card for their contribution: Go to the HGH Website at: http://www.highergroundhumanity.org. At the site is a very simple form so that you can donate with a credit card very easily. Increments of $1, $5, $10, etc are already in a pop-up menu for your convenience. This is also the recommended procedure for all international EDAs wishing to participate. The cool thing about international EDAs using a credit card is that once you choose your amount, it automatically converts your withdrawal at the current exchange rate! Great, huh? If you don't have a credit card, perhaps an EDA (with a credit card) in your country can help you. IMPORTANT: The one thing to remember if you choose to use a credit card on the website form, is to please write "EDA" in addition to your name in the "name" field of the form. Please don't forget this one little thing! The HGH staff processing credit card donations know to look for "EDA" in the name field. If you follow these instructions, your donation will be added to the EDA total & to the list of names we forward to the card design team. We'd love to see this become an ongoing project & to eventually have EDAs contributing real "hands on" help with new Clearwater Project locations. For now, we'll continue to keep an ongoing total running for all EDAs who follow the above procedures & depending on how much money is raised, perhaps the EDAs can adopt a specific location. We'll keep all that open for later discussion & let you concentrate on this particular project for now. Needless to say, everyone on the J-Team, at HGH & Clearwater thank you for being such thoughtful fans. You are amazing! Also, again a big thanks to Louise Tamblyn for suggesting this idea. This project shows, once again, that the EDAs really get Jewel's message of helping others. That is unquestionably the fan gift Jewel cherishes most! Cheers! Alan PS.
