Ticketmaster doesn't even say anything about Jewel in the description of the event, only that she will be there. They are promoting it as "Def Leppard w/Jewel" However, the radio station is promoting them both equally. Also, there aren't very many good seats left, so hurry if you still want to go! The tickets are 27.50 plus service charges.... As we all know, Jewel was a teenage when "Pieces of You" was written. We can relate to darn near everything she wrote about. "Pieces of You" helped us deal with the emotional roller-coster that is the teen years. As I listened, I never heard the Jewel that was on the cover of magzines or all over TV. I heard the teenager struggling with the same problems I had, Relationships, self-image, and feeling like no-one understood what I felt. Some days just listening to her voice made me feel better. Sean Hooks made a good point how many of the songs were not even on any of Jewel's albums, and I think one of the reasons why we all go so crazy about songs like Love Me Just Leave Me Alone, Flower, Carnivore, you know them all... is because in general, people want what they can't have. Yes, I know we have our angelfood tapes and those songs are floating around on the web, but we still can't get them through an official release. Don't you think that if Jewel put out as many albums as say, Ani DiFranco, that it wouldn't be as interesting? If all of Jewel's older and more rare songs were released, don't you think that they would lose something? I, personally, like trying to hunt down some of these songs because it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you finally heard that *rare* song all the EDA's are talking about.
