Hi guys, I'm fairly new to this list. I'm an Eda from Oz and I have being lurking for the past 3 months but haven't posted anything. I haven't watched the Leno segment with Jewel but I have to get the following off my chest. Here it goes... People please stop with this weight business. I am sooo tired of seeing posts that critisize Jewel's weight. I cringe at the thought of Jewel coming across these weight posts. We are fans of Jewel's music first and for most, what does it matter if she puts on 5 pounds or looses 5 pounds? Give it up! I'm not saying that you can't have your say but does it always have to become an issue, especially if it's something so stupid (lollypop issue to be another)? Does everything that Jewel does have to be analysed? I'd much rather see post about how her music reflects on ourselves and how it makes us feel, and I'm sure that's what is intended with her music, not how she was dressed for the performance, how much mack-up she had, was her voice up to scratch. Be thankful that you get to see a beautiful person sing such beautiful songs. Why do you have to squeeze every last drop of blood out of every performance that she does? This is not in 'my opinion' what this mailing list is for (critisizing that is). I joined this list so I could be in touch with fellow eda's who feel the same as I do about Jewel's music. Don't ruin it by posting petty comments about her weight. Let's not shadow every step in her life by useless comments, I understand that she is a public figure but cut her some slack, she is only a human being. Not everyones perfect. She has given so much to us that we owe it her to give her a bit more respect. Don't be so insensitive, how would you like it if the same things were said about you? think about that... Nuff Said. It follows the David Letterman show, and is on at 1:35am and is an hour long. This show is different than Leno & Letterman as Craig actually gives musical guests some decent "couch time", so I'd expect a lot more than the "Jewel's new Christmas CD comes out next month" that Jay & Dave usually squeeze in.
