Well if you know the answer please tell me! It's a beautiful song and to be able to put a person with the song would be really be cool! Thanks! I just wanted to inform all the edas from the philippines that the cd "Legacy a tribute to fleetwood mac" is now available at Tower records in Makati. I got mine last friday. Jewel did a cover of the song "You make loving fun" on that cd. Tower also has in stock the Steve Poltz cd "one left shoe" well...thats about it I guess....enjoy the rest of the day everyone! love ya all! Ian ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Oct 1999 04:47:54 -0700 (PDT) From: Christian Lobenstein Subject: * Warning. Some might think it is offensive (but it's not) Hi everone, how are you? This monday something unbelieveable happened. I was driving to a meeting with my car and they played Jewel (FYI: it was SWR 3). I never before heard Jewel played on the radio (not in Germany at least) and before you get too excited, they just played Foolish Games. Which doesn't mean I dislike it, it's just 'outdated'. I also got my 'Bits and Baubles' now, very nice, but I'll have to comment something on it later. I also got a copy of 'Reader's Digest' (hey, it takes some time for such stuff to get over here to Germany), the article is fine, not spectacular, but nice to read. Some EDA mentioned that Pro Sieben will air 'the Concert' on 31th Dec. '99. Did you mean Netaid? Drop me a line please. Now to the above mentioned comment on 'Bits and Baubles' (actually on a comment by Jewel from Rockin the Rockies). We all know, that Jewel likes to tell stories and sometimes she 'changes' them a bit (How often has she performed 'new' songs?). Don't get me wrong, I like her telling stories and I don't mind changing them a bit. But I'm 100% sure, that the german journalist she mentions before Innocence Maintained did not ask her in that way about 'Hitler loving boys'. She might have been asked about the line, but for sure not that primitive (it's all a matter of context). We are no bunch of wannabe Nazis who glorify the past. We are aware of the history and all its terrible details, probably more then anyone else. We saw the concentration camps, we visited them in school. I think you gotta stop with such stuff one day. Paula Cole has a song called 'Hitlers Brothers', actually a very nice song. But I really dislike her using a sample of a Hitler speech in it. I wonder if she act! ually know s, what he is talking Ok, to avoid misunderstandings. I don't mind the songs, I don't mind Jewel telling stories. But I do mind to picture Germans that way. This is over 50 years ago (I'm 22 years old and had absolutly nothing to do with it), shouldn't we all get over it? I don't mean forget it, but to look forward instead of back. Thank you for reading, any comments are welcome. Christian. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Oct 1999 15:08:47 EDT From: CaitAdaire@aol.com Subject: * 2000, and netaid Well, im a tad bit confused. Prefereably ones > that are familiar with Alaska, or that live there! Well, I don't live in Alaska, but I visited there last year and let me just say that even if you don't find any natives to hook up with, I wouldn't worry about getting lost, as Anchorage is the SMALLEST "big" city I've ever been to! Let's put it this way......when I took a bus tour of the city, there was so little to see that the driver pointed out his OWN house!! Ooh, fascinating! LOL! And, for the record, I absolutely agree that you should NOT attempt to drive to Anchorage (unless you live in Homer or Seward or somewhere close)! Definitely fly!! - ------ Fiona inquired: > > Does ANYONE have some eda tshirts made up yet? i'm still waiting on them > and i'd love to have them. > > ~the impatient angel~ Well, since you asked, here's a partial copy of a post made recently..... The newest EveryDay Angels t-shirt, produced by The EveryDay Angels Foundation, has been very popular! We are already out of small and XXL sizes, and have only 15 medium and XL shirts left. (We still have a good supply of large shirts, but you may want to email us at EDAFinfo@aol.com first to verify that we have any in your specific size...) This shirt is a natural cream color "textured" 100% cotton shirt with four color printing on the front and two colors on the back. The front has the colorful EDAF logo on it, and the back says "EVERYDAY ANGELS" in blue to green graduated colors. Images of the front and back designs can be seen online at: http://www.edaf.org/edashirt.html On the same page is also posted a picture of several EDAs wearing the shirts at this past summer's HGH/Bearsville workshop. It's the only known picture that has both Woody the Plywood Cow AND Jewel's brother Shane in it! ;-) These shirts are NOT for sale, but The EveryDay Angels Foundation is giving one as a "thank you gift" to angels making a minimum donation of $15 to the Foundation! Send your check or money order donations payable to "EDAF" to: EDA Shirts c/o Dennis Harris PO Box 305 East Taunton, MA 02718 Shirts are available immediately, and will be sent out as soon as your donation is received. You will also receive a receipt for your charitable donation. ORDERS OUTSIDE THE U.S. WILL REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, so please email us at EDAFinfo@aol.com for instructions BEFORE sending your donation! :-) Amy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Oct 1999 14:12:22 CDT From: "Brian H" Subject: * Netaid Times?!?! Ok, I've heard a lot of different things about the time when Jewel is supposed to play on Netaid and it's confusing me. I think Alan said something about it being on at 5pm, but is that Central or eastern time, and then I hear a lot of completley different things! I'm just really confused. And JMerch was really great about it. I called and asked them what to do because I didn't want to give up my autographed one. The guy I talked to said he would talk to his boss. I didn't hear anything back from them, but a couple weeks later a brand new tour book showed up in my mail, completley free of charge, and I hadn't even asked for it(not that I'm complaining.) So, if you've got a problem just give them a call, and I promise they'll be really nice. Their number is 1-877-295-3935(you even get to talk to a real person).
