Ok, so it's only for a Twin Cities radio channel. But still! Jewel's on it! Ok, well, 104.1 The Point (I seem to talk about this station a lot, well, they are very pro=jewel) has this tv commercial, and they show little pieces of music videos and stuff. Well, I saw it and recognized it because I've seen it before, but THEN! JEWEL COMES ON! She said: "I like retro" LOL! It was pretty cheesy. (the radio station is alternative and retro music) and then they show some other stuff, and then JEWEL AGAIN! and this time she says: "I get the point" And that was it. She was just standing there, nothing special. She was wearing the same thing she wore to the St. Paul concert, so you would think it was that day. Well obviously, I don't think she would fly into Minneapolis to do a commerical. Well, at least a commercial for this. Ok, I'm blabbing, on to the next thing.... I have a live recording of WWSYS!! There is this show on Sunday nights on(guess the radio station) the point called Todays Women. It's really wierd because it sounds like a name of a magazine or something, but it's all about Todays Female artists, and they always play cool stuff. Anywho. I heard them say that coming up next was going to be live jewel. So I found a tape really quick, and taped it. It ended up being Who Will Save Your Soul, and they said it was from a concert from the European tour. Obviously not the spirit tour, becuase it was accoustic. So, I have a tape of it. I'm just excited. Maybe if I wait and collect stuff like that long enough I will have a full tape of songs to trade for Angelfood!!!!! Ok, I'll shuttup. Just so you know, the reason I'm blabbing is so I don't have to go to bed. =) Sorry to take it out on all of you. Anyways just a stupid story i thoght i wouls share. love always~jamie *the twinkling angel* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 03:57:03 PDT From: "Catherine Bonzol" Subject: * Jupiter finally in Australia! I don't know if anyone has posted this all ready so this is just in case. My friends and I went shopping in Newcastle today and we went into HMV to look around. We'd pretty much given up on begging our local CD shop to get the single, he kept saying he'd never heard of it. So imagine our surprise when we were browsing through the new release singles and we found it. We nearly wet ourselves but we had to hold it in (our excitement not our pee) because we were in the prensence of our friend who hates Jewel and starts hacking into her anytime we mention her (grrrr). The shelves were full, so it must have only been released a short time ago (or no one else wanted to buy it but that can't be). When we looked around some more we found it in Sanity aswell. The radio edit of Jupiter sounds so different to the one on Spirit, it's really good though. Hopefully those of us who don't have pay TV can see the video clip soon. Okay so if any Aussies are after the single get to your nearest HMV or Sanity and get it, yeah. bye guys from me ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 03:56:50 PDT From: "Catherine Bonzol" Subject: * Jupiter finally in Australia! I'm sure there are plenty of EDAs here who also like Lisa Loeb besides me. :) I heard about a Lisa Loeb list, I subscribed to it, but it was horrible. Within two weeks, I said my farewells and that was that. Well, I got an e-mail from another member of that list, and he asked me to send something to all the EDAs. So here it is (I have more stuff to say at the bottom, so don't think this is it for me!!): Dear Everyday Angels, Hi, right now I wish to remain anonymous. But, I am on one of many official Lisa Loeb lists. This one just happens to be Lisa Loeb Discuss. I don't know if any of you are aware of what it is, it was supposed to be somewhat like this Jewel e-mail list, but there was a kink in the system. People were on the list who had no reason to. They just started arguing about the silliest topics. Anything from religion to abortion, it was covered. What sucked was that there was no person running the list like Mr. Connell (spelling? Liz mentioned it before, but I forgot how to spell it), just a machine. Thus, anything and everything could be posted. Everyone would argue, argue, argue, then bi**h about how the list lacked in Lisa content, which would result in another argument. I went to the EDA homepage, and when Mike described you as a community, I was pissed that Lisa didn't have that special bond. One girl wanted to unsubscribe, but had so much trouble with the website, she posted to the list, writing about 900 times "GET ME OFF!!!!". I'm sure everyone knew what she meant, but some perverts took it the other way. So she was thrown into the center of controversy, getting hate mail, even death threats!! It ended when her mom got rid of the internet in the house. She described the list in one word: "hypocrytes". I think she was right. So, I am writing to Liz to this list because I want you all to know you have something to be proud of. You have grown together as a community, and to me, it's a wonderful accomplishment. Some day, perhaps I'll become an EDA. That's it! I agree with him. The list was horrible. Anywho, if we can get this much respect from one guy, then why are we bickering? We should be proud to be EDAs, and proud that our position gains respect! :) Also, I'm trying to do last call for ribbons, the store I got angel pins from is running out, and I have to go soon and stock up before they are all gone! :) ~Lizbo ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 13:13:39 -0700 (PDT) From: Tyler cusick Subject: * angelfood and collectables My lifes quest is to collect every bit of jewel merch and every taped preformance, then to bio her with intimate interviews, please help me begin angelfood collection. Read Below Portland Z100 radio station's out-of-print (OOP) 1997 CD titled "The Morning Zoo Bootleg". Called a bootleg but this was an officially released CD for charity. Contains the special version of Bruce Springsteen's "Secret Garden" - The Z100 Jerry Maguire Mix which the station created with permission from Columbia. This version of the song contains dialogue from the movie. CD also includes two live tracks recorded at the station's 13th Birthday Bash on March 30th, 1997 - Jewel singing "You Were Meant for Me" -and- Sheryl Crow performing "If It Makes You Happy". This CD is the only place that you can find these live versions of the two songs! If anybody knows where i can find a tape or CD of this, besides the ebay auction, please let me know, EDA, George Snowden PS: Always looking for more 1999 tour tapes ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 18:37:13 EDT From: MrchngAngl@aol.com Subject: * Ok That Fine..... I my self awhile ago, when i first joined got into a completely useless argument about something on the list. And you know what?? it was so sill i can't even remember what it was about. But i do know one think. I will do anything possible for me to end this "squabble." I know that i can't but i'm going to say what's on my mind cause i've been watching this for too long. I don't have the oppurtunity to check my mail everyday, meaning when i do i have almost 200 emails. Well why be a part of this list you ask?? Because i love jewels work. And i enjoy the connection that we all have. But things aren't looking up for it. We are too involved in ourselves. Many of you are complaining/ arguing about sessoins. No i can't say many of you cause most of us didn't go. Don't you realize how lucky you are to have been able to go?? dont' you realize that there are over 1500 and i'm 16, and in Ohio. There is no way i could have went. But if i could i would have made every effort to go and even if i didn't get to, i'd go to them and try to get in anyway. It's not about what we think of her: makeup, hair, twang, teeth, song version, mood she is in. It all about what it does for you inside. She doesn't do this so we can fight about it. It's not for us to say how she is doing, what she thinks, what she should do, why what she is doing is wrong or right. Our only right as her fans is to support her when she needs it but not overwhelm her when she doesn't. That and take what she does/performs/writes and make it a positive thing for ou lives, inside. and if you can't.. wait for the next time. She doesn't owe anything to us. In fact i owe everything to her, so we should take our noses out of the air and be glad that we get what we get. <3peace=) Mel ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 22:28:58 EDT From: NikosSong@aol.com Subject: * CMA Jewel rocked! Ok, I LOVE that song. That is the first time I have heard it, because I don't have enough money to go out and buy the CD. The only thing that bothered me is that she went in and out of her "baby" voice. You all know which one I am talking about. The one that she usually gets when she is nervous, and it gets very high pitched and squeaky? She usually does her joke songs in that voice. Oh well, I still loved that song and I still love her!
