For anyone who hasn't seen it it's kind of silly actually.... It's a cartoon and they have a few celebrities on in "real-life" and they talk for a few minutes. kind of a non important question but I thought what the heck..... Ok..i think everybody is out of control...last time I'm sure we get invited to anything that Jewel does...people...people...aparentely we all have our different opinions on what the Sessions show was, or wasn't for you....I think everybody has the right to their own opinion about the whole thing, here's mine....I think she looked great..her make up was perfect, it wasn't too much or too little...it was perfect (compared to what I saw on her last show , no make up)...all we girls look great with a little touch up..ask your man.....she didn't sign anything , so what??? I dragged a 5 lb camera through the streets of New York hoping to get a cool picture, and didn't..still I have a mental picture that I could never erase and yes it would have been very nice to get something signed, but personally for me material things like that don't matter any more...after I saw ther person I care the most died and I saw all that she cared in the world taken and scattered to anyone , all I kept was the memories and that's enough for me...I rather have that than any piece of cloth or writing from her..the same principle goes for this..I have an awesome memory from this and that's enough....I think that after rehearsing all day and then singing 2 hours live she's entitled to get the hell out of there and rest or do whatever she felt like doing, remember this is her Job...I sure don't want to hang around work and talk to my clients after a whole day or working..sometimes maybe..if I feel like it...guys she has a life and she's a person just like you and I...admire her music and her talent, feel it in your soul and hope it makes you a better person just like it has helped me...I had never recycled or done anything for the causes that I cared about...now I find myself doing both cause I have paid attention to what her message is, not to mention also helping me control my bad temper and bitchy attitude . Yes ,I was lucky to get a good seat and for real I was in the position to actually , if I wanted to, talk to her and whatever, but I chose not to, I was actually enjoying this moment to the fullest and that's enough for me...I even told my friends there" when she finishes let's ask he if she would let me take a picture" but when I saw that she was kind of in a hurry to get out of there I didn't even bother to get my camera out , I respected what she did and that was it...good for her. Guys...we are brought together in this virtual community by her music , don't let us fall apart by our differences and we will be fine...if you don't like something, say it or better yet...IGNORE IT. And one last thing..we make our own experiences , if you choose to have a bad one, is your choice, not the circumstances surrounding them. can't we all ...just...get along??? We should get the >focus back onto the >reason that there is this list: who else, but Jewel? I will grant that we all started out here just because we liked Jewel (or for some , worshipped her) but for most it has grown beyond that.. our bonds with other EDAs are much more important that jewel sometimes.. examples... Mike, the list-owner, just about lives for the list now. He spends more time on the EDA community than anything else I would guess.. Over the years of reading EVERY post, and arguing with Sean, me and several others about our posts being shot down, and the numerous EDA get togethers, he has surely made a bond with other EDAs, and will (or might =Þ ) support me on this... True, it might have become a love-hate relationship sometimes, but still a bond =Þ Dennis Harris: This man has more EDA miles on him than a parking lot of Fed-ex trucks... The last time I saw him he had just flown from the east coast to cali, and from cali to Austin, tx and from there to Dallas (250 miles) from Dallas to Houston (300 miles) from houston to new orealns (I dunno, a long way, prolly about 700 miles) and from there ended up in Bearsville, NY to bond with even more EDAs..... He has been doing this and many other crazy things for years now.. he has had to form a bond, and scared many people along the way =Þ Amy N. (AKA Dennis' Keeper sometimes) She can often be found with Dennis, acting as a voice of reason... She too has donated time to the EDAs and EDAF, not just for jewel, but out of personal intrest and caring for others... Luna... okay, she fed and housed two EDAs in austin for half a week, and they bonded, and hung out.. (yes I am told they watched jewel stuff for a couple of hours, but the non-jewel time meanr far much more.. there has to be a non-jewel bond there somewhere..... Sean Hooks.... He always offers a... refreshing.... look into things... We often want to strangle him, and spend hours writing emails that border on flame to him, but without him we would be lonely... We secretly crave to debate and argue, and that too is a bond (perhaps a twisted one, but still..) So, nay, Most of us are here for more that Jewel now... we have grown from email-list to village, to a full scale town... honestly.. there are more EDAs on the list than people in the town where I live (yes, I do live in a VERY small town =Þ ) anyway, that is my $1.50 on this, and I am sure there is more to come.. take care, and as always feel free to email me... rowdy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Sep 1999 10:37:30 -0500 From: "bad choreography" Subject: * New album? I'm getting bombarded here with questions about Jewel's New Years Eve concert (in Anchorage, Alaska) ticket details. I don't keep track of ticketing details information. It's always best to research these things locally. However, I can help a little, thanks to a friend who called last night from Anchorage & said the local papers have been advertising Jewel's New Years Eve show all week. According to the local papers, tickets go on sale at the Sullivan Theater box office on October 9th. I do know the theater holds 8000 people & Jewel's band will perform with her. All the other questions I'm getting, such as: Can I buy tickets online? Are ticket agencies carrying this show? What ticket agencies are carrying this show? Can I only buy tickets in Alaska? Where can I buy tickets locally here in Iowa? How can Europeans buy tickets? Can I phone charge tickets? What about Y2K in Alaska? j/k ;-) One simply answer: I don't know. For all the folks with these questions, I have a suggestion. Surely some of you technologically savvy EDAs can find the phone number & call the Sullivan Theater box office in Anchorage & ask them. Simply do this & then post the info for others. This could actually work. I know it sounds frightening, but I have confidence in you! ;-) Alan ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Sep 1999 18:22:07 +0200 From: "michiel - Jewelfan- van gorkum" Subject: * EDA's help for concert in Alaska hello Eda's in America, Is there any eda in Alaska or near Alaska who can give the phone details of the concert of Jewel in Alaska?? What's up?? Well, I just wanted to comment on some stuff... First off this radio station in Philly/Trenton (WPST 97.5) made an important annoucement a few days ago. (NetAid seems to be a big thing here) The annoucement was that Jewel has JUST (oh really...lol) been added to the NetAid lineup. However, she won't actually be at Giants Stadium, but doing a via satelitte proformence from San Diego. Now Sessions... You people need to stop complaining! I would have LOOOVED to seen Jewel! Even if it was just her leg! I mean, if you go to a concert round here at the ECenter and you got a lawn seat, you be LUCKY to see her leg! And the make up thing... Ok, I'm glad to hear people don't like Jewel all made up. I mean, it feels good to hear that (espically from guys) girls don't need to wear all that crap on their faces. I personally hate make-up, and I think they put too much stuff on Jewel. I know in Jupiter, her eyes looked like they were weighed down from all that stuff! So I was a lil upset that some guy sed that Jewel wasn't overdone...He'd prolly be shocked to see Jewel in the morning with nothing on...might even scare him... Oh and one more thing... Jewel's horoscope sign is Genimi right? Now if I remember correctly, that's the one with the twins right? And the twins represent to personality traits, like split personality stuff. And I think that would make sense. I mean, didn't Jewel say in one interview that a lot of people presume her as naive, and by her angelfood song lyrics we know that's NOT the case. Plus most of the time Jewel's a sweetheart, but sometimes she's, well, she's a bitch. And I think that her horoscope sign just might play a part in it.
