The TXEDAs need another get together. i would offer the place, but I have not the room, and abilene is way out of everyone's way. While I can aprecciate the fan bases placement in the musical scheme the executives have to have a close proximity so as to judge societys upcoming affections toward the preformance. Perhaps it is the subconsous desire because of the recent disrespect inflicted that makes them do this. more likely they don't think you can behave yourselves in front of a camera. I can't disagree, for in my experience the EDAs have become as devoted to themselves as the have Jewel lately. It really is a rock and roll cliche' I simply hope the depth of the music can be re-realised.Remember the EDA orgin is "I'M sensitive" let's keep it that way or learn it within ourselves ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Sep 1999 16:06:09 EDT From: JeWeLzKeWL@aol.com Subject: * NJC: EDA Shirts Hey.. I need some more then what I have. I am interested in any of the Spirit Tour tapes... practically anything I guess. I don't really have much to trade. I have the St. Paul concert, except I got it from someone else, so I don't really see the point of you getting it from me and not from him. (Ok, I know that was a confusing sentance but don't worry about it, hehe) The only thing that I have that I taped myself was a 5 minute phone interview on the radio. So, if someone wants to be nice and work something out with me, please email me! Oh yeah, I got the JewelStock tapes, but I lost the 2nd tape. =( I know it sucks. I think I left it in a hotel room sometime or something, but if anyone is willing to work something out with that, email me also! Thanks!! Although i wasnt there, I still feel as if i need to let everyone know that this is sooooo ridiculous. And to those of you who are adding to and changing the story, I have to tell you that all you're doing is spreading more rumors throughout the entire jewel mailing list community. So what i figure is that you should all just stop it, put an end to it, make a truce, whatever you need to do to end it all. I'm trying not to sound mean and i'm not being mean either, that's the only way i can put it though. So you all have a nice day, and please just end it, i've gotten way too many e-mails about it, so buh bye. ~Melanie, the angel without a name ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Sep 1999 17:39:58 EDT From: AnGel33886@aol.com Subject: * sessions hi guys well i dont get to get online much and by the time i do i dont get all of my mail. i was wondering what "sessions" are. Specially when we were all in dark clothes with the sun on our faces..counting the minutes...(2 hours to Jewel...whoohoo!) until we got seated it seamed like forever, and then that blond little woman coordinator with the headset was trying to lead us to nowhere we wanted to seat, but we stuck to where we had to be seated, we told her that we were waiting for so long and she finally gave up and left us...(ha!) , right there in Jewel's face. like right there ..bam!. so we were sooo happy..we couldn't believe it....she came out , shock..there's she is...I see noone has talked about the fashion...she was wearing a black sleeveless shirt with brown vinyl or plastic flare pants with brown high heeled boots , she had like 3 beaded bracelets , pink and blue (yes we were that close) . So she sang..it was incredible to actually hear her so close, to my opinion she is one of the best voices if not the best out there right now...it was great to see her messing up a couple of songs and doing them all over again..Life Uncommon is my favorite song and she sand it 3 times...Mic feedback once and then they wanted to make a copy for a single that will be sold to help on her clear water project for HGH, (awesome way to help out 3rd world countries drinking water problems, a lot of children die from this every year). She acknowledge our presence a couple of times...whe she had to do Little Town of Bethlehem all over again (like the 3rd time) I started clapping like yeah you did it and she went " you are clapping cause I got it right this time right? " and I went "oh yeah..." , also in one of the tape changes the girl next to me said "tell us a story Jewel" and she looked at her and went ,"a story?" and the the make up guy came and she went " once there was this evil make up guy.." and we all laughed...Then also when she announced that she was going to do Life Uncommon again, me and my girls to the right started clapping and going yeah yeah ..and she looked at us like "!!??" and we said to her "we love that song..are you kidding'? " We also got to see her really close when she went up to the harp musician, she was like,"wao this is pretty cool" and started playing with the strings and the musician told her to seat down with the harp, it was almost like we were hanging with her (the harp was 2 feet from us) . when she went acoustic we were like "yeah acoustic, yeah!" and she looked at us and said "acoustic right! and put the power fists up.. The "you guys are retarded incident" was pretty cool..we laughed so hard..but noone has said that after she said that she went " but I love you all like that"..so she was having fun...Nedra somehow forgot to paint her toe nails and wore pantyhose with her sandals...Jewel pointed that out ot everyone and Nedra was like all red and probably thinking" I'll get you for this" Also once when the music conductor was giving credits to Jewel and to the musicians Jewel sat on her mom's lap for a little bit applauding him ,that was cool...she really has a great relationship with her mom and Nedra just has this soo proud look on her face,,it's amazing..she kinda glows from it... Well...back in my 90 degree Miami weather..(aahhg) and flat no buildings city. But beautiful ocean and tropical breeze.. So yes....it pays to sacrifice a little and stand in line for 3 hours and take a trip, catch a train catch a plane....and a bus and a cab and I walked...But I got to see my very best friend in New York, visit that amazing and historic city again , see Jewel like noone that was sitting close to me can imagine, eat Papaya King hot dogs....see those awesome looking New York guys!!...so for anything nice in life there's a little sacrifice that pays big in the end. I want to thank Hochie for inviting me first and foremost, she gave me the best holiday in my life (yet) . I want to also thank Alan for thinking of us and giving us all the chance to participate in this...you are the man!! we love ya!! last , but not least the Eda girls to my left and right (bad bad bad with names) for sharing my enjoyment and making the whole experience super better with your comments, enthusiasm and smiles... see ya in the next and please y'all put a little music in your hearts...everything is a lot better when you do.... She then performed a brand new orchestrated gospel flavored version of "Life Uncommon" independant of the previously mentioned medley. Due to a technical problem, everyone was treated to this a second time. The "official taping" concluded with second takes of "Gloria" & "Joy To The World". The musicians & chorus then exited to a heartfelt ovation. Does this mean that there will be a charity CD for HGH??? That was my interpretation. I might be wrong :~) Whatcha think?
