I know that there have been many books over the last couple of years that have surfaced as ones that have "fed" Jewel. I can remember the Anais Nin and Henry Miller notations, but does anyone recall any other authors/books Jewel has been inspired by? Also, what is everyone else's favorite book, specifically, favorite love story? I try to get confirmation of that info. And for the (very few, if any) Belgian EDAs, Kanaal 2 will broadcast Woodstock99 soon and should feature Jewel set (I couldn't a confirmation on this either, but that's the answer I got). That's it! (and sorry if this has been covered by someone else. I was on holydays.) Hey everybody... some of you might remember me as the annoying Angel who posts really long inane posts. Indeed. Anyway, i already asked this question, but i need to ask again, because i am also the annoying angel with a very bad memory: Who went to the August 21st show in Raleigh to see Jewel? More importantly, who got a recording of it, whether it be audio or video?? If you did, please contact me, i NEED it; i've got the material and stuff, so i'll handle that end. I hope you all got a chance to check out some of the bands i mentioned (here they are again, haha, shameless i am: Mineral, Joshua and Jimmy Eat World). I would also like to mention another one i negelected to mention earlier: Sense Field. Another EDA asked me about them, so thanks for reminding me - they're another brilliant band, and they helped me through a kinda tough time in my life. Check them out if you can, and any EDAs who are into different sorts of music (i.e. indie, underground, you get the picture), give me your recommendations; gotta love new music. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 5 Sep 1999 22:45:11 EDT From: RowdiusEDA@aol.com Subject: * Re: Jewel's duet with Merle Hi EDAS, Well if my addled brain remembers right "thats thw way love goes" is an older song, and several artists have covered it...if I am thinking of the right song... anyway, take care rowdy ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 5 Sep 1999 22:47:29 EDT From: BKHIBISCUS@aol.com Subject: * Re: Jewel Sessions Age Question Hi everyone. Just curious, If the minimum age was 16, why did so many people under 16 get picked?? Did anyone over 25 get picked? My husband and I are HUGE Jewel fans (since the beginning) and in our early 30s. We live 30 mins from NYC and replied early but didn't get picked and are trying to find out why. We've never been to any EDA events yet. Just wondering if anyone had more details on who got picked and how many people didn't. Have a GREAT time for those of you who did get selected! If a song/artist gets enough publicity and backing, then there is a good chance of becoming "popular". Of course, the quality of the song and the public's reception of it has some effect, but the Industry promotion is what seems to be essential.
