I had a truly magical time. I guess the only thing that would've made it perfect was if she'd played "Innocence Maintained" but I'm not complaining. Since hearing "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone" Live it is really becoming one of my favorites. I'd love a copy of the lyrics if anybody has them? Can anyone tell me more about it? Is it recorded anywhere, a new song, etc.? I'm sure I missed something about this song while me e-mail was down a while back. That's all for now......peace. According to the official site, Jewel's Christmas album will be entitled "Joy - - A Holiday Collection".. That's all it says.. So now we've got the title and the tracklist! As much as I'm happy about that CD, I'm more excited about the fourth album they're recording/recorded at the same time as "Joy".. Didn't somebody say something like that a while ago? I'm just going to consider this a "mini-album," since I really hate the idea of a Christmas album, even though I'm still wired about the Face Of Love recording.. I think it'll be a duet with Nedra, since Nedra did backup singing on the CD somewhere.. I'm betting it's on this song.. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Aug 1999 15:49:31 -0800 From: An Everyday Angel Subject: * 4th Album Hello All! Jwlfan112@aol.com said something about Jewel working on her 4th album while finishing her Christmas one, and I was just wondering is that's true. Many are asking me these two questions: Q#1) Will Jewel perform regardless of the weather in West Palm Beach? A#1) I hear hurricane reports just like you, in which case I doubt the show will go on. Can't control the weather... Will she do a makeup date if its cancelled? I don't know... Lets wait & see what happens first. Q#2) Why isn't the Labor Day Jerry Lewis Telethon on Jewel's website calendar? A#2) The reason is because contrary to list & media rumors, Jewel is definitely NOT performing at this. I added more setlists to Jewel's website today. All shows listed & complete through St. Paul now (a new rocker with the band surfaced there). I saw the setlists posted to the list & most had a few mistakes. These are 100% accurate for all you tape traders & those simply interested in this minutia, like me. (The setlist link is below the "high end version" calender screen for any first time visitors.) I also put up the Christmas album title & more movie updates last night in headline news & the calendar. Also, drummer extraordinaire Brady Blade answers many EDA questions this week at our "On The Road" department. Next week bassist Tony takes the plunge. Keep sending in your concert reviews & tour experiences. Wendy has added many more of your reviews to Jewel's site & wants EDA reviews for all the current shows. Keep em coming! If I'm not too jetlagged, I'll see a bunch of you at Jason & Sonja's Living Room Concert in the San Diego area saturday night. First off, I seem to remember a while back someone looking for copies of sheet music? I recently purchased the sheet music for YWMFM as well as for Spirit, so if you're still interested, let me know! Also, and I know I'm a little slow on this, I was wondering if anyone had a recording of Storytellers. Again, I'd pay for everything. My VCR is very old and doesn't record. Thanks! Since this is the first time that I have actually seen Jewel Live and in person with no tv in the way(usually caught her on TV as compared to an actual venue). Have tried for the past 3-4 years just always going in the other direction when she comes near. But to get on with it. First off I missed Rusted Roots entire set, didn't actually get to the venue until halfway trhu Steve's set. Missed a wonderful show from what I understand. Though some in the audience didn't really get Steve. Crowd made up mainly of collegiate couples and high school groups. When I showed up finally, Steve had just gotten to The ABC's(missed his performance of his Star Wars song, dang it!). Caught 3-4 songs of his, as well as a duet rendition of Prince's Little Red Corvette with Liz Berlin of Rusted Root. She had a nice little glass of wine while steve had a bottle(it is of course so like him from what I have heard). Went looking for the Food Drive Barrels(had some food to give away), but no! sign of em as far as I could tell. Chastain doesn't seem to be a real good venue for it anyways. Now on to Jewels set! Chastain was a beautiful setting for Jewel without a band. With a band it sorta loses it's focus. The outdoor setting with most every seat in the house outside in the wide open sky is awesome. Sounds on the other had don't work the best there. My seat was not in the greatest area, off to the right and way back, back up there. Was able to get a relatively good set list(missed acouple due to not memorizing all of her songs and getting to caught in the moment). But to start off. The stage was cleared after Steve finished up, though as he ended, Jewel ran across the stage riding a horse by the name of Doug. Seemed like she was havin just to much fun. The stage hands then setup the stage. As they did this, the backstage pass owners(I guess) were led out to their seats on the side of the stage(awesome seats for them, right up next to Steve and ON THE STAGE). Stage was darkened to the cheers and whoops and hollers of the crowd. Took about 5 minutes for everyone to quiet d! own and then you hear the beautiful voice of herself break into song with NYA. Spotlight slowly opens up and you see Jewel in a dark gray halter top with a black half skirt(for those who are following her apparel). Nice back lighting, started out purple and shifted along a range of colors. All thru out the performance, you heard, at least according to her, several distinctly southern yelling(YEEHAW!!) as compared to the californian DUDE!!. Once during her acoustic set she actually asked for everyone to quiet down an quit talking. It worked after everyone got it out of their system. After Deep Water we had a bunch of people, guys and gals, yell out We Love you Jewel! Her Response was as normal, Why thank you, or I love you. To which the entire crowd actually started to respond as well by saying We love you Jewel. She responded, Outa your system yet? That got everyone going for another five minutes, but then they quieted down and she broke into Simple is True. When she! brought the band out for Hands, she went into the her feelin fris beginning lines to Hands. After Jupiter she did her story of the drug bust down in Mexico as a lead in for You Were Meant For Me. Nice to actually finally hear it from her. After this she went acoustic with no accompianement. I liked this. I could actually hear her words as compared to when the band was playin. She sang Morning Song and Angel Standing by with ASB countryfied(or at least her story led into it). The band then came back out and they totally started to rock out. At this point she also called for everyone to stand up. Everyone did and we had a whole mess of people dancin all through out the seats. Didn't matter where you were, everyone was dancin. Loved it all. Didn't like not being able to understand what she was singing though. All throughout this part of the set she was either dancin and singing without a guitar or strummin along playin her heart out. She went thru Life uncommon, Foolish Games, Down So long, one I wasn't sure about the title for, Ca! rnivore, Barcelona and WWSYS. She was with one of her acoustic gitars for WWSYS and that was pretty good. After WWSYS she started scattin around with Doug. Spent around 5 minutes just duelling voice to guitar and then launched Scat Cat(my name for it, not sure of actual title). She had an interesting dance here where she leaned way back and faced the audience backwards and ... oh nevermind. Let me just say it set me up to well, from a guys perspective that is. After her scat session she brok into one more song, but I had been knocked for a loop and was so taken with the moment that I heard the music but wasnt able to catch what she was singing. And that ended the set. Cheerin and clappin didn't end though the venue was definitely emptying out. Jewel came back out after about 2 or 3 minutes of Cheering and brought everyone down. Was nice to actually be able to look at her and tell whar her facial feature were. She sang another song, got lost in the moment again and m! issed it as well. She then launched into Chime Bells. Everyone o was stupid and yelled Chime Bells right after the first line. jewel looked like she was just enjying the moment, either that or she was just wondering "Who in the Hell are these People?"(hehe) Once done with Chime Bells she said a few words of thanks and left. As I said before, the sound at Chastain was not the greatest, sound setup didn't allow Jewels voice to be heard over her instruments and band. Was talkin to some of the sound engineers and they agreed. They hated the setup. But they had to work with it. All part of the game, As I was wearing an Everyday Angels Shirt(one of the original shirts made by larry), I had a few weird stares throughout the concert but it allowed some of us to actually tell who I was. A young lady by the name of Robin came up and introduced herself during Chime Bells, good to finally meet someone from down here. As i was walking back to my car, I heard someone yell "hey Everyday Angel!". Turned around and there were these two young ladies, Stephanie and Jennifer, about to run me over in there car(not really but had you goin there for a minute). Had a quick intro and conversation before they had to move out and I had to get back to my car. Hello everyone, This is my first post here after joining a couple of days ago. . . I'm a little disoriented as I am still unsure how everything works here. I did have a few questions for those of you who know the ropes. Is everyone who subscribes to this list considered an EDA? Or is there some specific way to be one? What are Angelfood tapes? How can I obtain one? I have seen lots of mentions of trading these tapes. . . I guess my question is -- how do you get one if you don't have anything to trade? Those are my biggest questions for now! Thanks so much and I hope that's not a bother to anyone! I look forward to getting to know all of you soon. . .
