Greetings, I just wanted to say that I am overjoyed to see such a devoted group of Jewel fans on the Net. I have enjoyed Jewel's music for years, but only in the last 6 months (a very formative period of my life) has it become central. Many others have said better than I what an inspiration she is. I know she did a song for the surfrider foundation... I am an avid surfer--I just got back from Sebastian inlet in Florida where two manatees swam by me about 3 feet away. I was startled at first (shark?) until one of them stuck it's fuzzy snout out of the water. Anyway, surfing is a great thing. Try it if you can sometime. I started out surfing about 11-12 years ago on LAKE MICHIGAN! We called it "storm surfing" because it was nearly always stormy when the waves were big. Anyway, any help you can give would be appreciated. So maybe 2021 is a little too long to wait...how about a 5th anniversary or 10th? :) I also wanted to tell everyone that the article on Jewel in Reader's Digest is very well done in my opinion! It isn't tons of new information or anything, but it was well done! It's not that long, but is fairly nice sized (around 3 pages front and back I believe). Because if you have, I'd be EXTREMELY surprised. She is much more touching in a small venue with a crowd that is respecting of her performance. I saw her many times starting back in early '96 and as soon as she hit the big amphitheatres, my appreciation for her performances plummetted. There are ALWAYS lots of teeny-boppers screaming DURING her performance and it just ruins the feeling of her songs. It's fine to scream and hollar and worship between songs, but there are just way too many disturbers nowadays; exactly as Sean Hooks predicted. - - On to everyone else on this topic.. I still think it's a bit much to ASK for another JewelStock. Fine.. don't give up hope.. whatever, but if Jewel thinks it's a good idea to do it again, they will bring it up. She obviously truly enjoyed playing for us back at JewelStock, but it's quite rude to keep asking for another one. She did it as a favor and out of appreciation for her fans that were helping her make it. She's made it and attained at least part of what she had been striving for.
