Are we defeatists? hey. well im new to this list and but i always luved jewel. sooo this jewelstock thing would totally rock. im kinda w/ sean on this one. its soo not impossible to have another jewelstock. itll be hard but defintily not impossible. im sure some one can find a way to make it happen. but if u just totally blow off the idea from ur mind before u try and figure a way how to make it happen then its worse then giving up cos none of us didnt even try. whats the worst that can happen? no jewelstock.....but hey at least we tried instead of sayin "oh it wont happen its impossible" i totally respect the opinions of others and most of u probably know more bout this then me but......isnt there ne room in here for some hope? like sean said "there the larger number of EDAs is a help as well as a nuisance. Although more people creates more logistical problems, it is also a much greater pool of people who can be used to help make a 2nd Jewelstock a reality." i think that if we all contribute something this wouldnt be such a hard task. well think about it.....luvoxoxoxoxo, amy:) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1999 11:28:01 -0500 From: Jaime Wheeler Subject: * NJC: birmingham show (8/24) has anyone made any plans to gather before or after the show? jaime ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1999 09:18:56 PDT From: "Sherry Peters" Subject: * Jewel Shirts At Target!!! In my Target, they were in the teen girls section near the women's clothes. They are all fitted shirts (kinda like t-shirts, but guys wouldn't wanna wear them). Threr are like four different shirts (a beige one, a white one with the same pic as her journal, a purple one and a I think the other one is green). I can't remember exactly what each one looked at because I just looked at them in a hurry. Well, I hope that this helps you guys, email me if you have any more questions!!! Here's an official statement to those who thankfully took the time to write to us and/or to those simply wondering about this. All the best, Alan _______________________________________________ Dear EDAs, We want to thank those expressing concern over recent information about the business practices of several corporations that the Jewel organization does business with. Jewel and the people in her company were unaware of the situation and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. You are correct in your assumption that Jewel cares deeply about issues that impact humanity, not just in the US, but around the world. The issues behind these types of situations can often be complex and require diligent research and thorough investigation. Jewel has asked us to better understand the situation so that she has more complete information before formulating a response. Again, thank you for contacting us your concerns highlight the importance of our fans and how valuable your input is to us. Impossible? Are we defeatists? EDAS, Did I walk into a alternate, twisted Jewel list today? I gave my two cents about jewelstock II, and though my general reponse was negitve, I have to change that right now..... The Reason? The list is in some type of alternate reality right now!!!! Amy posted a fairly negitve post, and Sean posted in a positvie light!!!! Going through all my old mail, I have only seen this happen once or twice before.... I think what has changed sean was going to Bearsville. Being with so many EDAs had to be a good thing. Which makes me feel good, as that I donated to the "Send Sean to Camp fund"... Anyway, if our dear cynical Sean can see it positvie, then it must be possible!!! Sign me up! "There is a new army coming, and we're armed with Sean" (sorry, Sean, had to..) Plus, it there were to be a jewelStock II I could at last meet Sean, and either we would strangle each other, or get along great..... anyway, I guess he is right, we are kinda "forgetting to dream" I still think it is unlikely, but still no reason not to hope... Ummm, just my thoguhts, but as a somewhat long time list member, threads about another JewelStock are some of the only ones I read. Mainly because I like to see how far it goes until someone shuts the whole discussion down. (I know ... but what can I say... I am sick, I need help!) Well that and I take a lot of comfort in the fact that I was there and most of you weren't! It seems that Jewel, being the kind person she is, has said she would like to do another one -- someday. While I imagine this is her way of dodging the question while saving our combined little EDA hopes and dreams, the possibility is real -- someday. Is someday going to be today or tomorrow? Hardly! But I could see as her popularity wanes, which is only now slightly beginning, and the true "die-hard fans" reemerge out of the rubble, she grace us with another effort. (Keeping in mind that the really only reason why we got JewelStock was that Jewel needed some live recordings for her new CD with a good-responsive audience.) In the meantime, take Amy's advice and go see her live today ... it may not be JewelStock, but it's still damn good. -- Rob p.s. I don't know if anyone else agrees, but being at the Storytellers taping was as darn close to Jewelstock in many ways as any other Jewel show I've attended. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1999 20:30:14 +0200 From: "Roel Cobben" Subject: * Jupiter Single ... Rob wrote: > (Keeping in mind that the really only reason why we got JewelStock was that >Jewel needed some live recordings for her new CD with a good-responsive >audience.) Actually, that's not true. Originally there were no plans having the show recorded for the CD by Atlantic Records or anyone. The original plans were for Alan Bershaw (before he became a member of the J-team) to set up his equipment and record the show for the subsequent tape-tree on this list. After a few weeks into the organizing efforts of the event it was then decided by Atlantic (or someone) to record the show for possible inclusion of some live tracks on what was then going to be her second CD. For those that are new here and do not know, ONE performance from JewelStock DID make it onto the Spirit CD, the "hidden" 14th track, "This Little Bird". Jewel's mother Lenedra sang the song solo on the first night of JewelStock, and her track from that night was blended with tracks Jewel sung last summer and the subsequent "duet" is now on Spirit :-) Mike (member of the Jewelstock organizing crew) * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand, * or have a burning question about Jewel and/or the list, * The Jewel/EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.quackquack.net/jewel * Many basic/common Jewel and list questions can be answered there :-) * * Need some Angelfood? Why would you want to nip this kind of thread in the bud? By doing that there is NO chance of one. When you see Jewel you fail to see all the people behind her... agents, managers, advisors etc... Regardless of how much I would LOVE to have another Jewelstock, it is almost impossible... Once word gets out that she is doing it, the press will be all over the place...
