Hi, all. I was just watching "Jupiter" on VH1, and a thought came to me. Does anyone know if the old movie footage of the couple kissing in "Jupiter" was also used in the original Sean Penn-directed version of "YWMFM?" I've only seen the Sean Penn version once in its entirety, so I don't remember it very well. I do remember there was an old movie Jewel was watching in the video, and it was romance-related. It was a romance gone sour, but then I think another couple might've gotten together at the end. Does anyone who is more familiar with the original YWMFM video know if it's the same movie footage in part? The official list of performers participating in Net Aid so far includes Jewel, Bono, Eurythmics, George Michael, Pete Townshend, Bush, Counting Crows, Wyclef Jean, Michael Kamen & Orchestra, Jimmy Page, and Robbie Williams. The three shows will take place Oct. 9 at New Jersey's Giants Stadium, at Wembley Stadium in London, and the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. In other Jewel news, the acclaimed singer/songwriter is at the mid-point of her tenure as VH1's Artist of the Month, but you still have plenty of time left to see her breathtaking "Storytellers" performance. The unbelievable set, which saw the acclaimed singer/songwriter shedding light on such hits "Who Will Save Your Soul?" from her smash debut "PIECES OF YOU," as well as "Hands" and "Down So Long" from her current multi-platinum album "SPIRIT" will air several more times (see below). A definite highlight of the performance is the stirring version of "Jupiter," the third single from "SPIRIT." Once you've learned what the story is behind "Jupiter" the song on "Storytellers," you can find out what the story is behind the "Jupiter" video. I went to the Columbus show on August 11 at the Polaris Ampitheater with my fiance. We had third row center seats. We also saw Jewel previously in Cincinnati and Indiana so I knew that she asked for A Night Without Armor during the encore. SInce our seats were so close I brought my book with me. Towards the end of the show they let us move up towards the stage so I was in the front of the crowd. When she came out for the encore she sange Absence of Fear. As soon as the song was over I held up my book before she had a chance to ask for one. She came over to me and said "Can I borrow that?" So she read a poem from my book (Lost on page 94, which was requested by some people in the audience). My fiance had a pen, which I attached to the book so after she read from it she signed her name on that page! Everyone tried to stick there books up there after that, but she wouldn't take anymore because she moved on to sing Chime Bells! By the way, the Columbus show rocked! She was in a "frisky" mood that night. However, the show was shorter than the others (1 1/2 hours). Howdy, Does anyone have a tape of the 8/11 Polaris show? It was a great concert. Steve made up a song about one of the photographers who was taking pictures in front of the stage, and he asked him up on stage to pour him a glass of Guinness. It was pretty funny. Jewel also sounded great. She played some new song that she said she just wrote. I don't remember any lyrics, but the first three chords or so were the same as those in Near You Always. The song was beautiful though. Steve played Little Red Corvette, a duet he sang with the female singer from Rusted Root. It was really cool. If anyone taped this show, I'd love a tape! I'll pay for all the expences. Also, after the show, I talked with Steve, (I had given him one of my cds months back when he was playing in a bar in Cleveland) and he said he listened to it and thought it was great! Anyway, please let me know about the tape. Thanks so much!!!!
