Hey everyone in Jewel~land :) I posted a couple months ago regarding some close-up pictures of Jewel and Steve that I took when I went to Vh1 Storytellers. So this is just another offer since I made a lot of copies of these already.... I also have great concert pics from the Camden show (8/4) and the PNC show (7/23) So if anyone wants copies just e-mail me: Kcoppens@williampennhouse.com Hope ya all enjoyed Storytellers!! Did ya see me? I was in the front with the red tank top (I was sooo excited to see myself even though they DID cut my question with Jewel from the show--- GRRRR) Bye 4 now :-) - - Kelli *the city angel* ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 17:22:34 -0400 From: "Kelli Coppens" Subject: * Camden show review by me :) Well, I have to say that one of the highlights of last Wednesday night for me was that I met so many EDA's before and after the show! Hi to you all :-) Amy: thanks again! Let me know how your pics come out!!! The crowds were SO wild that a FIGHT broke out at the end of the show!! Can ya believe, a fight at a Jewel show!! Well, thats Camden for ya. The security was WAY overprotective but Amy got my camara in for me (yeah)!!! Cant wait to see those pics since I was in 8th row!! When I saw Jewel at Jonesbeach, NY she seemed sooo into it. She danced more and told stories, etc. The crowd was nice there too so that might have something to do with it too. But at Camden, she told NO stories and just kinda stood there and sung. Guess all the touring is getting to her. Dont get me wrong! She sounded GREAT! And she even sung Carnivore!! She also sung this brand new song called "Happy Times" = REALLY nice! I had the MOST fun when people were being pulled up to the edge of the stage! This was 2 songs before her encore. I was RIGHT in front of her! But then I realized I left my purse at my seat! OOOPSS! So after one song, I went back to get it and tried to make my way back to where I was in the crowd but wasn't that lucky (oh well) Figures, my luck, cause this was when she bent down to grab peoples hands (I would've been right there)!! Then, she took someones copy of ANWA and read a 2 second long poem. Afterwards, I make my way back to my seat to find my friends wondering where my camara bag is (I just figured they grabbed it for me). AAGH! So after we all stood there trying to breathe after ten LONG minutes a security guard hands it to us. WHew! Well, of course it was fun but NOTHING compares so far to Jonesbeach and Storytellers!!! luv to all :-) - - Kelli *the city angel* ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 15:56:36 -0600 (MDT) From: Laurel Crump Subject: * Poetry in Concerts Hey!! It looks like we started a trend in Colorado! Some guy was yelling and trying to hand the book to Jewel and she walks over and takes it and says "Okay....this is the first time I've done this on tour..." And she read the poem that has something about "my prince".... Also...SHE did NOT yodel at this concert, and I've noticed that she IS at new ones....does anyone know why... Maybe she only yodels for audiences she likes? BUt she did tell us "Thank you..you've been one of my best audences.." but then AGAIN...we were only the 6th show in the US... I'm proud of myself): Remember Live Aid? Well, get ready to log onto Net Aid on October 9. Artists such as Lauren Hill, U2 and Jewel are unofficially scheduled to participate in this benefit concert to raise awareness of world poverty. Parts of the concert will be broadcast live on TV and on the web from Giants Stadium, New Jersey; Wembley Stadium, London; and the Grand Theater, Geneva, Switzerland. During the period when the three time zones overlap, the artists will perform a song simultaneously. Visit www.netaid.com for concert info. So we should keep a watch on that. On another note, I really think we should keep at voting for Jewel on TRL. I mean, one, LFO made it on the countdown. I mean, hello, that stands for Light Funky Ones. I believe I have nearly killed myself making fun of that name already today, so I won't strain myself this time. I will simply repeat it: Light Funky Ones. OK, I have made my point. My second reason is: Silverchair's "Ana's Song" is at number 8 today. Now, I must make it clear- that is my FAVORITE song. It means more to me than any Jewel song does, and I'd actually rather see it than Jupiter any day, because it is so close to my heart, but what do I vote for? "Ana's Song"? Noooooo. Jupiter. Everyday. Follow me in my quest, and we shall prevail. If ME, "Ana's Song"'s biggest fan (I mean, I'm even ordering the special single from Australia!), votes everyday, not for my favorite song, but for Jewel, of whom I am a devoted, devoted, devoted, devoted, devoted fan, then everybody here should. And this ends my TRL pep talk. Ok, I am done with my ramblings. I just wanted to say that the show in Camden, NJ, was really great. I, of course, expected it to be good, but she really blew me away. Her charisma permeated throughout the crowd. I was so pleased to see everyone STANDING up, singing and dancing! After the show, a lot of people left, so I ran and jumped into about the 5th row. She asked if anyone had her book and once she had it, she asked him to request a poem. I was disappointed that "The Thing You Fear" because I wanted her to read something laonger, but its great that he got his wish. I was just wondering if anyone had a copy of the Camden show, or any one of her other Spirit shows for that matter, it was the first time i have heard her perform live, and would love to have a copy of anything live. Thanks a lot for reading and helping out. Take care, miranda === ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "I'd rather see the world from another angle. We are EveryDay Angels. It has every 1999 setlist (including Steve Poltz & Rusted Root setlists) complete through Columbia, MD. After that, I'm still working on it, but almost all of Jewel's setlists through last week are already up. I'll fill in the missing Poltz & Rusted Root ones as I can. The link is below the calendar window on the high end version of the site (www.jeweljk.com). We'll likely soon relocate this feature to the new "On Tour" section. Hope you are enjoying & participating in that. If you send a review to the list, consider sending it to Wendy at Jewel's website too. We want to include your reviews & show experiences. Theres a form to easily do this right there for your convenience. It's also not too late to enter the current contest. Just visit the site, fill out the form & you'll be entered to win a limited edition signed & numbered lithograph of Jewel's artwork. Details & info just a click off the main navigation page. Its simple & theres no obligation needed to enter. The winner will be randomly chosen at the end of this month. To those who voted on the t-shirt design last month, you should be receiving your free stickers from JMerch anytime now. And if you're soon going to a Jewel concert, please remember to bring canned goods & non perishible food items for the "Rock & Wrap It Up" Food Drive!
