Right now, I have 2 extras. Last time I went to Target, there were at least 2 dozen cds left. So, if you need Bits&Baubles, let me know. It was on sale for $6.99 plus tax ...and you'd have to pay shipping too. If you really want to do this, and have the time and knowledge, please email me: edajellydoughnut@hotmail.com Please be sure that you are willing to do this though. We will need to make a website, and set everything up. I figure we could make an email address with a common password or something to host it. I'm not the most familiar with managing a mailing list, so I figure we can all help eachother out. So, I won't get to into details, because it isn't worth it. It would also really really help if we could all communicate in some form other then email. Like ICQ, AOL, or AIM. That would be really nice. So if you have any of those, please email me. You also obvious have to consider yourself a Younger EDA, I haven't decided what a good age would be, but we'll figure something out. Ok, I'm going to finish soon. Please contact me if you are intrested. Email: halaasb@hotmail.com (not the address I am writting you from now) ICQ: 40694569 AIM: brianh5036 (if you have AOL, you can contact me through that also, just incase you didn't know) I hope this goes through. My first time seeing Jewel live...It won't be my last! The new "guy lyrics" to YWMFM were hilarious. I was surprised by the lack of stories between songs. Not that that was bad, but I was just expecting it. Still, the story of how Jewel & Steve met was funny (Not to mention how Jewel said stalking someone is the best way to get to know them, or something like that!) Steve Poltz's set was great too! The Star Wars song made my day. For those who want it, I was able to copy the show but it sounds like my grandfather's weezing (no offense intended!). There's also lot's of talking. If anyone has a better copy, please tell me. I'm not interested in coping it yet for others. I'd like to hear the whole tape. Later! Subject: * NJC: Astroworld/Houston EDA gathering (update) Attention all Houston, TX (and surrounding areas) EDAs! Plans are continuing onward to have another gathering towards the end of the summer for those who couldn't make it to the last gathering at Jewel's Woodlands concert, and/or would like to meet and reunite with fellow EDA's. :-) EVERYONE is invited to this...whether you've been to an EDA gathering in the past or not. Here are the UPDATED plans... - ----------------------------------------------- After speaking with several local EDA's, it has been agreed to that we'll have this gathering on Saturday, September 11, 1999 (the weekend after Labor Day). And it will be held at Six Flags Astroworld Amusement park in Houston, TX. The park's hours of operation that day are from 10:00am-8:00pm. So this will give us time to do something afterwards too for those who like. We will meet up in front of the main entrance to Astroworld between 9:30 and 9:45am. There is a big globe/ball/water fountain type of thing there, so you can't miss it. And places to sit all around it. For those who I've never met before, let me know the day before what you'll be wearing that day so it'll be easier to spot you. GETTING TICKETS - ---------------------------- The normal cost for a one-day ticket is $36.00. If you wish to pay at the gate, this is what you'll be paying. However, I can get the tickets for $22 from where I work. They have a program set up where employees get discounts. And there isn't a limit on how many tickets I can buy at that price. So for those of you who would like to save $14, you can mail me the money, and I'll purchase all the tickets at one time at the reduced cost. Then I will distribute them at the time we all meet up at the entrance to Astroworld that morning. The cut-off date for sending me the money is Wednesday, September 1, 1999. Please don't mail me anything after that day...because there's a chance it may not make it here in time with the upcoming holiday weekend. Also, I'd like to get the tickets at least a few days before. You can send the money however soon you wish, I will just hold it until the day I purchase all the tickets at once. Those who don't mail me the money will be responsible for getting their own tickets. And those who have season passes already don't have to worry about getting tickets of course. There is approximately 3 weeks between now and then, so if you plan on going, and want tickets at a reduced cost, don't wait too long before mailing out the money. For safety reasons, it might be better to send a money order than cash. Those are less than $1 to get. So for anyone interested in this, please e-mail me privately and I will send you my mailing address. If you want to meet many new EDA's for the first time, and hang out with fellow Jewel fans while having a blast at Astroworld, then you should go! We're 4 for 4 on having successful TX gatherings now, so let's make this one the best of them all to close out the summer! Anyone is invited! All ages, whether or not you've been on the list for 4 years or 4 days...doesn't matter...you're welcome to join us! :-) I'll keep everyone posted. Here are the names of those who have told me they're interested in going. -------------------- Derrick (me) dkaracos@utmb.edu Luna thessalia@juno.com Amber Amber@pernet.net Mindi Mindi@pernet.net Amias (need e-mail addy) Rowdy RowdiusEDA@aol.com Lindsey Lindes15@juno.com Tempest (and sister) stormy_jade@hotmail.com Heather (and cousin) jewelh383@aol.com Kim (and sister) kkosatka@aol.com Tien tdang2@bayou.uh.edu Bebe838 (I need your name!) Bebe838@aol.com Tessa? littlgrrl@hotmail.com (Come on Tessa! You can ride with Amias and Luna! :-) - ------------------- Suggestion: Rowdy, Lindsey, and Bebe are all from the Dallas area...so it would be a good idea to carpool with one another. So you guys might want to start writing one another about getting this organized...it'll save alot on gas and is a good way to get to know one another before you even get to Astroworld. And as I said before, another good carpool would be Luna, Tessa, and Amias...you guys I'm sure won't have any trouble working this out. If you want to come and are from the Austin area...then e-mail Luna about riding together. If you're from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and want come then e-mail either Rowdy or Bebe about riding with the Dallas group. Thanks, Derrick * Anyone that wants to help out with the planning of this, feel free to volunteer. :) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V4 #471 ***************************
