I have a bunch of angelfood and stuff to trade. I can't be the only one on the list who taped it, can I? Thank you so much in advance. Thanks, Kyle P.S. Does anyone know where there's a copy of EDA symbol of the blue angel playing the guitar (the one that's on the shirts)? I'm making a web page for my angelfood, even though I have no idea how to, and I'd like to put that on it. I just got B&B and it didn't come with a booklet. =( I dunno if it was even supposed to but...I dunno, nevermind. Anyway, it's great! Thats one off my list, I'm still looking for DSL and Jupiter when it comes out. I'm pretty sure it won't come out here in my city that's why I'm asking for it! Oh I almost forgot! When I was at target, they had these magazines with Jewel on the cover for FREE!! I took the last one, yippy!!! I wonder if they'll get more! Anyway, just wanted to share! I just got back from her concert last night here in Michigan. She wasn't as talkative as she usually is, but she was still lighthearted and having fun. Woodstock must've tired her out a little bit. :) I got most of the songs, but there were a few that I couldn't recognize. Maybe somebody could help me out with those. Anywayz, the set list goes like this: 1. Near you Always 2. Deep Water 3. What's simple is true 4. Hands 5. Jupiter Break- talked about how she and Steve met when she was a waitress and how stalking is a good way to meet people. :) 6. YWMFM 7. I don't know that name of this one, but it started out with the line "Take my hand, don't fall behind." And the chorus went something like "I'll follow you down, down, down" 8. Don't 9. Too Darn Hot 10. Barcelona 11. Life Uncommon 12. Follish Games 13. Down So Long 14. Another song that I didn't recognize, but the chorus went something like "I'll take you there, I'll take you there, I'll take you down" Geez, how many of her songs have the word "down" in it???? 15. Love me Just Leave me Alone 16. WWSYS Encore 17. Abscence of Fear 18. She read Sauna from her poetry book that someone handed to her from the audience 19. Chime Bells- really different from what I've heard before; no guitar and with a slower tempo. I didn't recognize it at first, but the yodeling and the chorus gave it away. I miss seeing her in smaller venues, but she still puts on a great show. The band she played with finally seems to have caught up to how great she is. The drummer in particular just kicked ass!!! Anybody know who he is? He was just on fire during all the through the set. Him and Steve just rocked. All in all, I enjoyed it, especially since I got third row this time. :-) Later all, I got work in 4 hours. Good night. Hey Everyone, I still have a couple of B&B CD's and quite a few Target magazines so if you would like me to send them to you, I'd be happy to! The cost for the CD only is $10.00 (8.50 cost of CD incl tax, plus 1.50 postage). If you want the magazine also, the cost would be $12.00 (8.50 + 3.50 postage). We were on Row 3. I took some pictures from my seat, and some when I was standing at the stage. :) Go look at them here! Oh, and if you want to trade them, just e-mail me! Thanks & Take Care.. - - Heather - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 09 Aug 1999 05:53:53 PDT From: "Jennifer Caputo" Subject: * Jewel in Detroit 8/8/99 Oh My.... so last night I went to see Jewel and Steve at Pine Knob in Detroit. I took 3 friends with me who have never heard of Steve or bothered to buy Spirit. Let me just say - by noon today they will own both Spirit and One Left Shoe and plan on coming over to my place later on so I can copy some Angelfood for them! OK, So she opened with Near You Always as usual, followed by Deep Water, What's Simple is True, Jupiter, YWMFM etc pretty much the same setlist as always. For her solo acoustic section she played (this was sooooo exciting!!!!!): Does Anybody Believe in Love (i think that's what is' called) and TOO DARN HOT!!!!! Oh wow, those songs were so awesome. After the band came back out she sang the rest of the usual setlist Barcelona, Life Uncommon, Down So Long, Down, LMJLMA, WWSYS and then came back out for an encore. First she sang Absence of Fear and then she borrowed someone's ANWA book to read "sauna" to us. She finished off an amazing night by singing Chime Bells a capella. I'd never heard it sound so great!!!! Jewel was in a great mood the whole night. I had never heard any of those songs sound as beuatiful as they did last night - this was by far the best jewel performance i've ever been to or heard and I have heard a lot.... Every song was sang with an emotion that nobody else out there can duplicate. She didnt' sing Carnivore even though there was an EDA up front holding up a sign that said "Play Carnivore". I was in row SS but had my friends scream for it anyway......don't think she heard us, but hey, we tried :) She didn't tell the whole drug bust story but did tell how steve thought the "smiley face" lyric was a "chic" lyric so he sang his "stab the yolk..." lyric instead. Steve sang (not in order): Kiss Your Ass Silver Lining The Chair Song ABC's of Love (w/take off your shirt) Gold's Gym Guy Little Red Corvette (w. Liz from Rusted Root) Star Wars Song Dog Doo Blues Everything About You I love you, I adore you, what can i do for an encore - ok so you know how he brings up a girl for this part....I was so bummed, he brought up Anya!!!! He didn't announce that she was his girlfriend but they shared about a 5 minute kiss! I wanted to go up there :-( Well....every girl there wanted to go up there. Anyway, I didn't get home from the concert until 1:30am but I could't sleep cause I just kept thinking about the way she absolutely nailed every single song beautifully. My favorite was in LMJLMA when she screamed "WHY COULDN'T YOU DO THE SAME???????" WOW!!!! goosebumps! Needless to say I would do just about anything if anyone out there got a good recording of this show. I have tons of New Spirit stuff and tons more of old stuff to trade so please let me know!!!! Ok...I'm so tired! Jen :) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Aug 1999 10:58:39 EDT From: Num1JwlFan@aol.com Subject: * Fans Onstage?! I went to the Detroit show last night. They did such great ads for all the other artists they've sponsored, so when I finally saw the ad in Talk magazine, I felt kind of jipped :-) Not only was it just one picture, it's an OLD one.. It's a photo taken during her performance of ASB at the MTV Music(?) Awards.. It is a good picture, but still.. They had three new pics for the Britney Spears campaign.. Maybe they'll have a shoot and come up with a new ad.. I’m not sure what people are going to think, but I sense some flames coming on. Has an additional mailing list ever been talked about as something like a Younger EveryDay Angels. Because I think it would be really neat to have a place where like 14 and under EDAs (or some age) can talk by themselves. Now, I’m not saying that I am going to do this. I’m just saying that I’ve thought about it, and am curious if people would join, or even if you think it’s a bad idea. There are some negatives, like people would out-grow the mailing list, and that doesn’t make sense. So, I would like to hear peoples opinions. Thanks! Hey! We could even call it YEDA! lol!
