They were talking about JFK Jr. and all the great stuff he did in his life etc, etc, and then as they were about to go to a commercial, they played part of Jewel singing Life Uncommon! Needless to say I was excited. :-) It went so well with the stuff about JFK Jr. too. Here is what was played...it was short but still... "...a life uncommon. I've heard your anguish" See, very short, but it was Jewel, and it was Life Uncommon so that made me very happy. :-) I'm surprised this wasn't posted before I got the chance but then again I get the digest and at least I haven't seen it yet on there. Well, I'm done now. ;-) Amber Reed ICQ# : 7806740 "Maybe if we are surrounded in beauty, someday we will become what we see." Well, though I understand the reasons, and realize it is for the best, I cannot help but feel sadness at the thought of Alan not being an everyday part of the EveryDay Angels... He has always been a very important part of this list.. Besides Jewel info, He has offered insight to us all when we've been confused about what was taking place in our little piece of Jewel's World.... It is sad indeed, though Bearsville is a perfect time to draw it to a close I guess... But it does not have to end.... Mr BB himself stated that with the website going, that he is not needed.. Well, Please all hackers on the list email me.... We'll just take down that wonderful little site, and we'll have Alan !!! =Þ Yes, I know that is not quite practical, but, hey, it could work.. (just kidding folks) Thanks for the years of putting up with our whining, and for all the help over the years!!!! Alas, We'll miss ye Alan!!! take care Rowdius ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Jul 1999 00:49:01 +0000 From: JH Subject: * NJC: Bearsville '99 my story The weekend started with me waking Able up at 11am on thursday to tell him that we were leaving a day early (I sent him an e-mail, but it seems like Able's computer crashes for every gathering). Abel go to my place at about 6:30, and we were off to Bearsville (by the way just so you all know I figured out that the part that fell off my car was a hub cap). It was fun talking with Able on the way we almost missed or exit we were talking so much. We got to steve's only to find out the he had given our usuall spot away and ripped and planted new trees all over the place so I was lost thank god Rob helped me figure everything out. Thanks to Kim and Travis (I hope I got your name right), for helping me set up my tent. I then started drinking. After hanging around the fire and drinking for a few hours it was off to bed. Next moring up early watched the invisable chipmunk steal a bag of hot dog buns. Sat around and read cosmo (my god that magazine is sick). Then off to tubing. I had fun tubing even though I had to leave my glasses in the car therefore could'ntsee, therefore got stuck on every $#%$@# rock on the $##!#$$#@ river. Then back to camp to see who had shown up. Met all the new people, found Eric already drinking, would have started drinking but I felt really sick for some reason. Started drinking sometime later. than sat around the fire waiting for late comers. People showed up at around 2am and I helped everyone find spaces for there tents. Then walked Kelly and Erica to the bathroom and we stoped on the way back to visit the people on our normal camp sight they were cool, although the HUGE knife stuck in the picnic table made me a bit un comfortable. then off to bed to get a few hours sleep before the HGH thing. I wont say much about the HGH thing parts of it seemed really cool some of it seemed slightly off. I think once they iron out the details it will be great. What I will say though is Fran and Shane are great people. I spent alot of time hanging out with Shane outside of the theater and in woodstock. If you ever meet Shane ask him about the polar bears. Once again back to the campground. I was to tired to go swiming so I just hung out around the fire. Then it started raining, first rule of camping zip up the windows of your tent when you leave. I spent 5 minutes runing around taking care of tents whose owners did'nt know the first rule of camping. We did the tape bag, and I drank, and than I sat down and watched the south park movie. Then snipe hunting, hehe nothing like hunting snipes with a Harris. Then for some reason at 4am my tent became reaally popular and I had to move all my stuff to fit 2 more people in. It was'nt a problem though cause I bought an 8 man tent cause I knew stuff like that would happen. Then we got up the next day. I skiped tubing this time, me, the 2 Kellys, Tom, Mike, and Steve stuck around the campsite and talked and hung out. Then everyone got back from tubing and we divieded up all the stuff that the Cambells forgot, what happend to you guys, you could have at least waved as you drove off :). Then off to eat. Then I left and I was on my way home end off story... Not so fast, getting on the NYS Thruway I see a broken down car as I begin to drive past the car I see that it's EDA's we stop and have Bearsville part on the side of the road. By the Tom and Kelly sorry I could'nt take you guys but I was right it took me 5 hours to get home and the way the belt parkway looked it would have been another hour or 2 to your place. Ok that's it I've rambled on long enough. Hehe and I had to leave out some of the best parts. Anyways, I got the soundtrack (which i dont think is that great overall due to a lot of regular orchestral pieces) and wanted to find out about the singer. It turns out he is sadly deceased (at 38) but his name was Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and he was quite famous for his Hawaiian style songs. Interestingly, he was a very large Hawaiian man (800 pounds!) who played such a tiny instrument. From what I read he was a wonderful guy. Anyways - for those of you who are into different kinds of music- do a goto.com search or whatever and check him out- i bet JK would love his music.
