The show plays any videos that were most requested so lets all vote for her on thre web site for Monday and see if we can make something happen... I mean I know that I love Jewel's music and think that she should be up there don't you... Also, try to get other poeple you know to request it too. Mannn oh mannn anyone who missed the Dallas concert missed alot! It was awesome! The band was kickin and I was sitting two rows off the floor on the left which weren't that bad! I got some groovy picture and exchanged phone numbers with five brutally hot guys! My boring date went off in search of the beer stands when I got the digits. haha. Anyways Steve was great really a funny guy, I love the star wars song! when Jewel came on the whole arena went crazy and she looked amazing! I have a dress almost exactly like the one she was wearing. Mine's tommy which I think hers was too! She was beautiful and so was the background pictures they were flashing. She called Grey Matter new again, why does she keep doing that? I have no clue what the setlist was, there was only one song I didn't know but she said it was Brand New. Anyone know the name of it? I didn't see any EDA's wearing there shirts though I'm sure some of you people were there! Man Jewel can REALLY rock on that guitar of hers. When her and the band started rockin to DSL the whole floor including people in the balcony areas started rushing to the stage! I thought they were going to knock her down or something! I never thought DSL, Down and Barcelona could be moshing songs but some people there thought so! I did record some of the concert on my trusty little tape recorder, my uncles going to take it into his studio and clean it up for me so if it ends up sounding good I'll make a couple copies. Alright I'm done rambling now! Ciao babies! Howdy folks :-) Sorry it's been so long since I posted, but life has been hectic for the Campbell Clan :-) As I'm sure most of you who plan to attend know, there is a web page set up by Mike for the gathering that should give you any info you may need - if there is any additional info you need, let me know asap :-) Send any replies to me at BRSVL99@aol.com. A little new info for you all - Steve's has apparently raised their price from previous years, but don't fret, it's only another dollar per day - making the campsite $6 per day/person now. Also on Mike's page is the list of items you may wish to bring camping. Don't forget the annual tape grab bag - for anyone not familiar with it - all it entails is making a compilation of your favorite artists that you'd like to introduce to fellow EDA's :-) Also, as I believe was already mentioned by the infamous Dennis Harris, there will also be a Jewel Song parody contest, so don't forget that :-) Directions etc... can also be found on the gathering page. Please refer to Mike's page for this and all other info before emailing me with questions, not that I mind, but time is very limited right now :-) Hope to see lots of new faces :-) Bearsville '99 web page found at http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup/bv/bv99.htm Tammy :-) The Edamommy :-) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jul 1999 12:31:54 EDT From: GiggleLily@aol.com Subject: * NJC: Any Indiana EDA's Hey, Angels! Anyways, I was sitting her reading the back up of digests I have (I was on vacation) and I realized something that sort of bothers me. At the Irvine Show that I was at, a woman was standing up, people behind her couldn't see, and Jewel told the woman to sit down. (I'm sure ya'll have heard this already) Well, here comes the irony. Later, she tells everyone to rush to the stage. (You all know that too). If Jewel was so adamant about people being able to see, she wouldnt have done that. Being a short person myself, once peole came forward from the back, I could barely see. I'm not upset about this really...I mean, the Jewel concert was my favorite concert EVER. But, I just though it was a little ironic. I didn't have an answer, until I just found this new information on the www.woodstock.com web site. (text below) The event is safe and sound. Mike :-) Just a silly rumor - Woodstock 99 is in no danger. Erroneous reports of possible cancellation are just plain wrong. By Woodstock.com There have been erroneous, though widespread reports alleging that the Woodstock festival is in danger of being called off because "we have not met certain county deadlines" . It's definitely not true, so don't worry about it. Here's a statement by Producer Michael Lang: "The reality of planning an event as large as Woodstock 99 is that there innumerable details and conditions that must be attended to and addressed at each step of the festival planning process. Nonetheless, our entire staff has consistently worked diligently to meet each and every condition required of them either in advance, on time or as close to the proposed deadline as possible - without jeopardizing the safety, quality, or integrity of the event." "The county has in no way, shape or form threatened the cancellation of the Woodstock 99 festival and any unresolved issues are currently being addressed. We continue to work with Oneida County officials to meet every condition and deadline required of us," Lang concluded. And the county concurs. Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. said in an official statement, "We have been talking with Woodstock officials. We expect to resolve all permit issues quickly. We are looking forward to a safe and successful event." ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jul 1999 10:01:29 PDT From: "Jennifer Corley" Subject: * recording of Dallas concert Did anyone record Jewe's Dallas concert? How can somebody try to explain why this is possible in the USA and not in Europe. Is it correct that only press, and other persons from radio or tv get those passes or do you normal fans of Jewel - eda's in the us - also get this passes. It's just something i want to know....so any reply is welcome. Will Jewel's concert at Woodstock 99 also be screened on international tv broadcasters????? And are there any american eda's who have been taping concerts lately , who want to trade with me? I am still offering the first dutch eda tapes, so everybody is free to ask for these Jewel tapes. Hi to all EDAs that are planning (or considering) attending this years Bearsville Reunion next weekend, I have what I hope will be some exciting news for you! We've been wanting to do an HGH/EDA discussion event on the East Coast & we've decided to do it in Woodstock next weekend so Bearsville Reunionites can easily attend. :-) As many of you know, Nedra (Jewel's mom/manager) stopped by the SoCal EDA Gathering on June 26th & spoke to the EDAs about Higher Ground For Humanity. We would have enjoyed expanding that into a discussion with the EDAs, but didn't because we promised not to interfere with all the wonderful performers already scheduled that day. This time we'd like to do a similar thing but devote the time to direct discussion with the EDAs. So....here's the plan: Next Saturday afternoon , July 17th, we will be holding an HGH workshop/picnic during the Bearsville Reunion. Nedra, Shane (Jewel's older brother) & I are trying to secure The Bearsville Theater lobby (or outside if its nice) to conduct an HGH workshop & picnic that you are invited to attend. Nedra will talk about HGH & then we'll have a discussion with the EDAs on how you can "Be the difference that makes a difference" in your own lives. We have many questions for you, probably far more than you have of us, believe it or not! We'd love for this Bearsville Reunion 99 to be the beginning of that ongoing exchange. We'll supply a bunch of food & we'll make a nice afternoon of it. We'd certainly enjoy having all Bearsville Reunion attendees join us. I'd also like to invite any others who'd like to attend to simply come down for that afternoon, even if you were'nt planning on going to the reunion. Everyone is welcome! We thought doing this next weekend at the original Jewelstock site was too good to pass up, since so many EDAs would already be in the area. So....here's what I'd like you to do if you'd like to attend. Please contact Tammy, who is already co-ordinating the folks attending next weeks reunion, if you'd like to join us. Write to: BRSVL99@aol.com Please let Tammy know if you'd like to attend the Bearsville Reunion, the HGH workshop or both. That will help us determine how much food to buy for the picnic & how many to expect. If you need more information about the reunion, directions, etc, please go to Mike's BEARSVILLE REUNION 99 website at: http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup/bv/bv99.htm We still have not secured the Bearsville Theater, but if worse comes to worse, we'll do it somewhere nearby. I'll certainly keep you all informed as the week progresses. We'll determine exact time & location in the next day or two. We'd love to have you join us & this will be a great opportunity to learn more about HGH, The EDAFoundation & how you can participate. Nedra, Shane, The EDAF Board, AmyJo & I look forward to spending a nice afternoon with you in Bearsville/Woodstock! Updates will be posted periodically this week. Seeya there!
