Personally, while I did play Pieces ... like a million times before, since I got Spirit I've probably only played it maybe 3 or 4 times. Spirit is the result of Jewels musical evolution and ppl shouldn't seem to be so dissappointed 'cause it wasn't the same as Pieces ... .God if you want many albums of the same music get backstreet boys or spice girls (ugh) or something!lol. Anyway, each to their own I guess, but personally I anticipate Jewels next album hoping for a new fresh slant on her music, and again for the one after that. I'm in New Zealand and went to her concert here in March or something, and although then ignorant of some of the critisisms (eg lack of spontanity of her shows) I had one of the best nights in my life! Old songs, current songs, new songs etc, you ppl out there are lucky that you have the opportunity to go see her concerts more than once - I can only hope she returns on her next tour. so anyway, thats just my two cents worth as a newbie, peace ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Jul 1999 19:38:53 EDT From: Jenn92884@aol.com Subject: * Poem Song Tab Does anyone know the tab to "Poem Song"? Any idea of the chords? I think it is Jewel's most passionate song and would love to learn it. Please and Thank u > * AnGeL eYeS > It's not that Jewel has become egotistical with the power of money. We just don't know Jewel! I remember an interview she did awhile back, she had said that she didn't want her fans to become obsessed with her and her music and that she didn't want to get caught up in the music industry. Because of how TV/ news portrays people she wouldn't be shown right and she also said that people don't see the real Jewel. She's not what you think, as she said! Consider this challenge. Hi Everyone, It is my firm belief that if you've spent so much time analyzing someone else's life with such detail that you can feel righteous about how they truly disappoint you, then you've not spent enough time reflecting on your own life and taken steps to correct your own shortcomings. My challenge to everyone is this: Before you make a negative post ripping on Jewel for ANY REASON, stop and make sure you've been doing everything to live the example you don't see in someone else. You may find if you do that first, there's no time to analyze someone else's life and feel disappointed. You'll be too busy enjoying life and making a difference. It is our choice to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Given a choice between being the doer who learns to understand themselves and live life, or the watcher who simply sits on the sidelines throwing peanut shells, which would you rather be? Think about it. Albert "Know who you are, where you are going, and what you want. So at first I arrive at Sloppy Joes and there is no one there. I visit the Barnes and Noble for a good half an hour or so and return to Sloppy Joes at 11:45am and walk past Joe. I walk in to see no one and walk back out to see Joe's guitar case with the Jewel sticker. I then ask him if he's an EDA and he replies, "Yes, but there's no one here yet," so we just chat for a bit, share some stuff we brought for Jewel to sign (in case we meet her). Then a weird guy, which we find out later is Rizoule walks and and greets us. The gathering was awesome...I met people I have only been hearing about and I was very scared before because I went alone and didn't know what it was going to be like but I then found out that there was nothing to be afraid of. Joe and I totally clicked and got along, met all of you (Maddy, Season, Mark, Mikael, Alex, Jason, Sonja and Rizoule.) So many talents among the EDAs. So Joe and I decide to leave and we go to the Ampitheatre about 3 hours before the concert actually starts and we hear the sound check inside. We tried soooo hard to sneak in but failed. Then 7:00 rolled around pretty quick and we went in as I managed to sneak in a camera...hehe...We were right outside where the backstage area was while we saw Jewel pass by a few times and we screamed "We love you Jewel!!" etc...but was totally ignored by her. Well, Steve Poltz came out to sign our books, CDs, etc and he KEPT MY PEN!! STEVE POLTZ has my pen!! A very nice silver one her liked. We also saw a camera guy from the home video crew...we were on it so there is a one in a million chance they'll use us!! They need some freaks in the video! So you know how the concert went. Jewel...damn, you kicked ass! She was so awesome at the concert and I tried to run to the front but failed also but I still had fun in the back...dancing, singing along...ahh....great memories...great memories...I will never forget the experience. Hello Angels...I'm new to this and I would love to meet Angels in the South Fl Area. I'm going to the Aug 28th concert in West Palm and I was wondering if there will be an EDA gathering there and how I would go about meeting EDA"S there. I 'm very picky about artists, really I've never been a "fan" of anyone on this earth and I have to say that Jewel truly amazes me with her lyrics, voice, poems and the way she is using her popularity to actually do something to higher your spirit, unlike the hundreds of talented people out there who make you feel good when they entertain you for a while, but don't bother using their fame and money to help mankind . So ...I would love to meet EDA's over this list in the MIA and South FL areas.
