I had posted a while back asking if any were interested in having a gathering before or after the show. I had some people respond, but I'm asking the question again since I just found out tickets go on sale this saturday (June 19th at 10:00 AM). For a few weeks each spring, this very special spatial vortex (called the Renaissance Faire in the vernacular) is open to people of all ages. Yes, we were trapped in the vortex for most of Saturday, mesmerized by shiny objects and horrendously expensive velvet dresses (but it's so versatile....). No, my pager does not work at Ontario Mills mall. The mall is obviously located in its own Twilight Zone. (However, my pager did work at the faire...hmm....) Yes, the longer we stayed and looked at the shiny objects, the more sunburned and fatigued we got (one of the side effects of the vortex, no doubt). No, we did not count the number of times the chopped version of "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan played at the Ontario Mills Mall while we were window shopping. Forget sunscreen! This summer, those who are a la mode will be wearing their skin a deep crimson. Starting this trend are Jamie, Sonja, and myself. We think the "cherub cheeks" look will also be very popular this season. Now, if only the three of us could walk or talk or move any part of our body without screaming in pain.... Oh, and I'd like to dispel the rumors before they run rampant. Yes, I was dressed (a la Star Trek) in the appropriate apparel of the day for the voyage into the Renaissance. Yes, there was a garland involved and yes, I did wear the costume (however briefly) into Ontario Mills mall and outside of the Edwards Theatre where we convened before leaving for the Faire. No, I do not have an accurate count of the "what the heck is she wearing" looks that I received that day. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who showed up to the gathering. :-) You guys are so cool! Hope to see you all at the EDA Concerts at the end of June.
