I was starting to get a little upset with those Brits for having swiped Jewel's plectrum! ;-) Speaking of plectrums, the Everyday Angels Foundation still has a few EDA PLECTRUMS left for those of you who want to swipe ours! :-) If you want to snag a few of these EDA guitar picks and support the Foundation, send a #10, business sized self addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with cash, check, or money order made payable to "EDAF" to: EDAF Picks c/o Dennis Harris PO Box 305 East Taunton, MA 02718 For every $2 donation to the EDAF, we'll send you a free thank-you gift of three (3) EveryDay Angel guitar picks. It is just over an hour and a half long. It hasn't got every single one of Jewel's appearances in Australia -- I missed one completely and only got part of another -- but there are about a dozen interviews in Australia and New Zealand and one live performance of DSL. As a bonus there is an interview with Steve Poltz after he came back to Australia by himself after the tour. This includes a live performance of his Star Wars song and his Silver Lining video clip. I am happy to make copies of the video for anyone who would like one -- but the video is in PAL format, not NTSC. Just contact me privately and we can make the arrangements. Thanks go to Craig, Adam and Jody and Kelly in Australia and Kim and Nick in New Zealand for providing the original clips. And thanks to Jewel for her patience and forbearance and unfailing good humour with the same old questions and some poorly prepared interviewers. But there are some really good responses from Jewel too, and some good questions, particularly from a group of young fans in New Zealand. (and a Woodstock99 EDA Tent City question) Hi angels :) Yesterday I finally got to see Jewel on Leno (it just now got here to Israel...) I have to say- I didn't like it. I also have to say I wasn't surprised. When Jewel came on Leno first and did "hands" I hated it. the way she played with her voice... It was un-natural and un-Jewelish to do, but I thought- "Hey, she's nervous..." Well, apparently she wasn't. It seems to be a pattern with her, to be like that on TV. I don't know WHY she does it- I personally don't like it. I love Jewel for her naturality, and her charisma, and I used to love the way she'd talk to her audience and ask them things and kaugh with them. I like it because it was HER. It was natural and fun. She wasn't trying to impress anyone- she was simply doing what she loved and wanted to do. I don't know if she loves what she's doing now. I hope she does, and that she is happy- cuz that's what's really important, but I'm not sure I like this new habbit at all. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same... p.s. If anyone is going to Woodstock as well and can update me on the tent city, cuz I'm comming (YAY!) with a friend, and we want to join! === "If music be the food of love-play on!" ~~ABBY~~ The Rare angel * * {\o/} * * * /_\ * "A time for peace, I swear it's not too late" (The byrds) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 04:36:54 EDT From: JewelBlues@aol.com Subject: Re: jewel-digest V4 #260 Hello-to all in ENGLAND and EUROPE_-please send me a direct email if you have any JEWEL video on tape from england or europe for TRADE--I have many items--for trade..thank you--JEWELBLUES@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 10:20:56 EDT From: Monkey000@aol.com Subject: Ticket Info for Jewel's Mass.
