Today's Subjects: ----------------- ***Houston EDA Gathering update!*** ["Karacostas, Derrick W." ] MrBB-NBC Later- Thursday Night [ABershaw@aol.com] Goo Goo Dolls (Jewel content) ["Everything Breaks" ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 12 May 1999 17:39:36 -0500 From: "Karacostas, Derrick W." Subject: ***Houston EDA Gathering update!*** - ----------------------------------- Hey folks -- It's been a mere 4 days since the Jewel tickets went on sale for the July 10 show at the Woodlands and already we have over 10 EDA's that are for sure going (already have tickets). These are just the ones I know about too. I think we'll easily get 20 or so to come to this gathering. I'll include a list so anyone that's not on it, and know's they are going, can write me and let me know so I can add you to the list. Also if any info is incorrect (or missing) for the ones already on the list, let me know. I've already had to make 3 or 4 changes to it. Now, here comes the *really* cool part. This wasn't my idea, so I can't take credit for it. It was Luna's. But how about trying to get Steve Poltz to come to this gathering??? I mean, after the show of course. Hey, it's worth a shot. And who knows, maybe he'll extend the invitation to Jewel as well. We're going to come up with some ideas on how to go about getting this invitation to him. Already have a few in mind. Hopefully this will be a very cool gathering. Right now there aren't many definite plans, since it's rather early for that, but I think some kind of pre-concert dinner/get together would be good for starters (thanks Mike!). This is mainly for those of you who won't be able to hang out after the show, and stay out late (all night?), etc. Times/places will be announced later on. That way we'll get to know one another still, meet everyone, and no one will feel left out. Sometimes at the show, things are sort of difficult to organize, with all the other people there, and with everyone sitting in different places, for the most part. Then after the show, we'll get together somewhere else...still not sure yet. If anyone has a place somewhat close to the Pavillion (preferably within 15-20 minutes driving time), let me and/or Luna Taylor know. We may need to use your place that night. :-) If it's ok of course. We need some place to gather where if needed, people can stay over. And we can have a BBQ, grill shish kabobs, listen to Luna play her guitar, and rope plywood cows (Luna's idea!)....ha ha. Oh, and get drunk. Well, maybe not *all* of us. You get the idea. As the concert gets closer, I'll have more details, and will post them. In the meantime, just let me know if you're going...and maybe once a week I'll post an updated list of EDA's to the Jewel list so everyone will know whose attending (and have their e-mail addresses) for possible car pools, etc. Hopefully this will be a very successful and FUN gathering!!!! I always heard the song as partially a criticism of people woman who LIKE cowboys, and sexy men to the exclusion of other things, like brains. An interesting criticism considering jewel is a big fan of cowboys herself, IE GARTH BROOKS, etc. In a way it's the old you point a finger at one person there is always three fingers pointing back at yourself! ehhehe - -----Original Message----- From: Greg Butler Subject: Do You... >Did anyone else get the impression that when they first heard "Do You" that >it was about her ex-boyfriend (that ex-soap star) cuz she was talking about >the cowboy being *not so bright*. So I got Easons to order it for me. And The Craft wasn't in any of the music shops I visited. So I got Teah Andreone's CD instead. And I booked my plane tickets to San Diego for Lilith and NJ for Jewel. Anyone else going to that one? Please don't let me miss out on tickets! What's the situation?
