Conan showed a picture of Jewel and said something like, "Jewel's album sales sore and sell millions!" Then Conan says, something like, "Scientific studies show that men like breasts." I thought that was hilarious. If anyone recorded it, let's to a trade. And about the EDA pleading people to call radio stations for Jewel's sake... She's a multimillionaire and is the last person that needs you all to promote her. Try helping out someone that needs and deserves it like Steve Poltz or other unknown artists! I especially like the fact that she did "Down" which I haven't heard in so long, and "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone" which is one of my favorite tunes. And like someone else said at in a review of another gig she did Who Will Save Your Soul (great scat section at the end where she started singing and one of the guitarists would mimic her voice on his guitar. She also started singing "When the kitty is hungry, it goes meow, meow, meow." Funny.) She also sang Grey Matter !! which I haven't heard for ages too ! One thing I have to say though is I was sitting on the 4th row up on the left hand side of the stage (so cool, i was so near Jewel it was silly !, and could see someone filming with a video camera on the opposite of the stage, So does Mr BB know about this ??? is it for a live video or something?? Oh and before I forget Steve Poltz was pretty good too, and was pretty funny with his Star Wars song and stuff. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 May 1999 21:24:36 EDT From: StarSky26@aol.com Subject: Have another ? I read on one of the web pages that sometimes the angles that have AOL join in a private room called "everyday angels." I would really like the time and days so I can meet a few there. Thanks! My name is Alice, and I too succumbed to the lure of the plywood cow. I apologize for not posting earlier but, you know...things happen. Anyway, I must say that I truly enjoyed my day in Boston. This was my first gathering in about two years. (My first and only other being the Sam Goody/Tara Mac Lean/NYC gig) I had actually planned to walk in the walk-a-thon with a group from my school, but when I heard that I could get credited for the twenty miles by volunteering AND hang out with some EDAs I decided to put my walking shoes back into the closet. It took me a while to find everyone, I stood outside of Laura's building for a while. Then I peeked my head in but couldn't manage to ask them if they were who I was looking for. Then I went in a second time, and then I heard them saying that they should hold up a sign saying, "where's Alice" so they I said, hmmm Alice-That's me! Helping with the walk was great, even if it was tiring just standing there, greeting, and herding. But the true physical challenge was yet to come.... After lunch we headed to the commons, Dennis set up the plywood cow, and then, after some hesitation, I began to learn to rope. At first I just wasn't getting the hang of the whole rope-twirling thing. But then I realized that I needed to get my whole body into it, and "feel the flow." Soon, my hips were swiveling as I circled the rope around my head. This "new technique" was tentatively dubbed the "Alice Wiggle." The bottom line is that I had a great time, can't wait to practice roping again, and I've learned a sure-fire way to draw a crowd. Alice *An Angel who's been on the list since April '96, but is just now getting into the swing of things* P.S. Quick Note to all who were there: Ya know my pen, that wouldn't work...I just took it out of my bag and it is writing just fine now, I swear. I think Dennis jinxed it somehow. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 May 1999 20:52:32 -0700 From: "Rhino" Subject: Innovation Station is now open! Hey EDAs!
