[LuverMb20@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 16:01:52 -0400 From: Courtney M Gordon Subject: no jewel content, but important Dear Angels, Over the summer, I feel in love with a guy named Chris. Tuesday, a drunk driver hit his car as he was driving his little sister home from school. The drunk guy hit Chris's car so hard that an empty kleenex box on the dashboard flew into the back seat, hitting his sister's face, and she now needs 7 stitches. Other than that, she is okay. A couple scrapes and bruises, but she's okay. On the other hand, Chris died on impact. His head went through the windsheild, and his car is completely totaled. The drunk driver walked away fine. No stitches, no cuts, nothing. Chris was the greatest guy you could ever meet. He was smart, funny, gorgeous (which doesn't matter, but still, you couldn't help but notice), intelligent, respectful, everything. He was the most awesome person i've ever had the honor of knowing. But now he's gone, and there isn't anything i can do about it. He will never know how deeply i felt for him, and i'll never get the chance to tell him. (Even if i could, there aren't exact words for it anyway.) He had a major impact on my life in the short 9 1/2 months i'd known him. Bad things should never happen to people such as Chris. But now he's dead. So if anyone that reads this is planning on going to a party and getting drunk, **please** give someone else your keys beforehand, for the sake of the others that are driving. Pass this on to your loved ones. love and luck always Courtney ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 16:44:13 -0500 (EST) From: Jennie Anderson Subject: My Jewel Trading Page hey all! i just thought i'd post and let you know that i created a page that lists all of the jewel audio stuff that i own and am willing to trade. if you are new to the list and are looking for some angelfood, or if you just want to see if i have something you don't already have, please check it out! if you find something you want, you can email me and we'll work out a trade. i've included all of the set lists to everything i own, as well. note that the audio collections listed are just the ones that i have good quality versions of. i have other things, but got crappy quality dubbingss (i wasn't too happy about that, either...), so i promise this is good stuff! enjoy! jennie http://expert.cc.purdue.edu/~jenniea/jeweltrade.html ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "That's alright, that's ok Had no business giving myself to you anyway." -Jewel, "Carnivore" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 22:46:17 +0100 (GMT) From: Ian Conroy Subject: Re: MrBB:HGH Tickets for EDAs!/More Jewel Updates & UK Information Just a few additions to the UK-related information > The other new info is that Jewel is taping an interview > with BBC Radio 2 for future broadcast today. UK EDAs may want > to research air-date & post it. interviews like this are most likely to be aired saturday evenings or weekday late evenings. My flat-mate usually gets one of the tv listings magazines so I should be able to find this out a few days in advance. I don't think Radio 2 broadcasts on the Internet unfortunately. They have had documentary-style programmes featuring Jewel before though. >She's also doing an extensive > interview with London's Sunday Express Newspaper. I would > guess this will be published soon to coincide with the UK Tour. The Sunday Express is actually a top national newspaper, not just a London one, so people living at least in the rest of Europe may be able to get hold of this a few days after it appears over here. > I forget if I told you the release date on the UK "Down So Long" > single. That will be released May 24th. This is the version with > "Fat Boy" & "Amen" as the live bonus tracks. These two songs > were part of the encore recorded on the final night of her > last 1997 Europe tour in London. This version of "Amen" is > truly remarkable. > > 04/29 Ozone TV Interview, London, UK I'm not sure if this is the recording or airing date, but OZone normally airs on Monday or Tuesday, showing interviews pretty close to an artist's single release > 04/29 Videotech TV Show, London, UK I think MrBB mentioned in a previous Email that this would include 3 songs. If so it must just be the recording date for one of their occasional hour-long live performance specials, which are recorded for transmission at a later date, as the only Videotech programme to be shown on 4/29 is the half-hour feature/interview programme which only airs in the London region > 04/30 BBC Breakfast, London, UK Very strange if this is BBC Breakfast, as i've never seen them do much music-related. If it was Big Breakfast on Channel 4, that would make more sense as they have quite a lot of well-known bands on. There's a little article about the album on page 63: Jewel Pieces of You ATLANTIC, FEBRUARY 1995 This barely retouched debut contains the songs responsible for the mighty Jewel dynasty. "Who Will Save Your Soul" is a coffeehouse sing-along on which her voice gorgeously liquefies and scats at the drop of a hat; "You Were Meant for Me," the melodic marvel she wrote with Steve Poltz, lets loose her spiritualized romanticism in the pop-culture mainstream---alongside movies and toothpaste. But Jewel's extraordinary "Foolish Games" clinches it: the heart, the soul, the all-American Edith Piaf strivings, the irresistible feeling of a pop hit as literary lingerire. The HGH Benefit Sunday night is at the Henry Fonda Theater (not Henry Ford). Thanks Sinjin who I look forward to seeing again! He got his tickets. :-) Here's the instructions again, just in case. There's still tickets left. Seeya, MrBB This is about the HGH Benefit Sunday night at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. This is an intimate private performance with proceeds funding HGH projects. I have good news for you on this! Here's what's going on. This HGH benefit is being put on by Vogue Magazine, so we had little control on who was invited & making tickets available to you. However approximately 100 tickets were made available to Jewel. Jewel decided that she would like to make all these tickets available to EDAs that would like to attend. Consider this post your personal invitation. :-) Before I give you the instructions, please understand that if you repost this information all over the Internet, then you are basically screwing this up for other EDAs. Scalpers will buy these up immediately if they learn about it, so PLEASE DO NOT repost this info elsewhere. When the tickets are gone they are gone. I cannot do anything & will not reply to any inquiries about this once this is posted. Please just follow the instructions & pass this info on only to friends who will appreciate it. Here's what to do. Call this special ticketmaster #: 213-480-3232. Ask to purchase tickets to the VOGUE HGH BENEFIT in LA on Sunday night. DO NOT ask for the Jewel Concert or they will not know what youre asking for. There is no listing for this other than the VOGUE HGH BENEFIT. (This is also in an effort to avert scalping & allow YOU to get tickets.) If the line is busy, keep trying. All tickets to this intimate HGH benefit are $60 plus service charges. That's it. If you can't afford it & live in LA, she'll be back in LA for a tour stop soon so don't be too upset. You'll also be happy to know that Bibi, West & film crew will be proffessionally filming this concert & I'll be audio recording it for use in Jewel's forthcoming home video project. So you'll all be able to experience some of this concert when the home video is released in several months. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 22:13:34 EDT From: LuverMb20@aol.com Subject: I'm seeing Jewel! Hello! Omg, I am so excited! I'm seeing Jewel at the HGH Benefit. Thank you so much Alan for posting that information! I dont think I've been this excited, I was screaming and crying through the house, lol. The seats I got are upper mezzanine. I've never been to the theater before, so i dont know if its good or bad, but I dont care. I'm seeing her the following night at Leno too. This is too much Jewel for one week. I do have one question. I was browsing around ticketmaster and their site for venue information, but I couldnt tell if the theater allows for camaras. Alan, would you happen to know if camaras will be allowed? Ami anyone else excited, and going? write me=) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V4 #210 ***************************
