Tammy and Rob have previously held wildly successful events such as the aforementioned Great EDAdventure, our first EDAF food bank all-volunteer weekend and of course, hosted a stop on the 1997 Living Room Tour series. Each event found at least two dozen EDAs from a half dozen states spending the weekend as part of the family. TOO COOL FOR WORDS. If you are able to reach New Jersey that weekend, you're foolish not to do it! (Tammy's going to post details soon, and I have something I saw in a cartoon that I'd like to try out that weekend...) >> Gee, this doesn't even mention the pre-Jewel show gathering we had when she played the PNC, or the pre-Poltz show gathering turned weekend and EDA birthday celebration last April :-) Are we nuts or just EDA addicts - you decide ;-) OK, folks! Here is just a little info for you......... We are probably less than 20 minutes (depending on traffic as you New Jersey-ites know all too well...) from South Amboy, so we're in a good location for hosting wayward EDA's in our home once again :-) Many of you are familiar with our locale, but for those of you who are not, we are in Central Jersey in a town called Old Bridge - if you want to look at a map, we are just south of New Brunswick and East Brunswick and North of Freehold - if Old Bridge isn't on your map, just look for where routes 9 and 18 meet and we are just a mile or two north of that - but don't quote me on that :-) Specific directions etc... will be sent out to individuals planning to attend along with our phone # in case you need to contact us..... For those of you who have never attended a gathering, don't worry, we aren't too scary :-) Just a few things to keep in mind - be sure to have money to pitch in on food, whether we order in, take over a local eatery (I still have my IHOP coaster autographed by Harris from the Great EDAdventure weekend - lol), or have a good ol' Campbell BBQ, we just can't feed the masses (especially since we go to Vegas the following weekend - jealous? hehe). We will also be doing something fun that you'll need some money for - I'm leaning toward the goofy golf arcade outing since it's close and should have something fun for everyone :-) I plan on people arriving starting Friday afternoon and staying until whenever the h*ll they want on Sunday :-) If you need other arrangements, let me know. As soon as I start hearing from people, I'll send a list of attendees out and where they are coming from so people may arrange to share rides if needed..... If you plan on taking a train in or something, let us know and we can try to arrange a pickup. Oh, almost forgot - plan to bring a sleeping bag or blankets and a pillow for floor crashing! OK, most of you know what to do now, right? E-mail me and let me know if you plan to attend! Please include where you will be coming from and if you can offer rides or need a ride and if it's ok to list your e-mail addy so you may contact each other for rides...... oh, and please include your age! That's all I can think of for now, but feel free to e-mail me with any questions - but please put beach cleanup in the subject line so I don't miss it! Hope to hear from a bunch of you!!! Huggles!!!! Tammy :-) who you will all be sick of hearing from by the end of the summer...... heh ------------------------------ Date: 08 Apr 99 17:05:41 +0100 From: Remko van der Vossen Subject: re: Jewel on cover of Seventeen > I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but today I got my new issue > of Seventeen (May 1999) and Jewel is on the cover. Like Courtney, I myself have been lurking in the shadows for awhile. However, I decided to comment on your color theory, Courtney. I don't think that Jewel would be blue if she were a color because in "Painters" she makes the comment about how blue prints were too sad so she made them yellow. So I would pick yellow over blue even though i am partial to blue. Also, I think that it is not how the person looks that is important, but what a person is all about. Jewel is a vibrant and original person like yellow. You can "pick" your causes, and but here's a cause that gets you picks! :-) Last fall, the EveryDay Angels Foundation designed and produced an EveryDay Angels guitar pick. Jewel was given several hundred to use and the rest set aside as promotional items. We are now offering them as an incentive to generous supporters. Printed on one side is "www. EveryDay Angels .org". The words EVERYDAY ANGELS are very bold and stand out. The flip side has the EDAF logo. The purpose of these picks is to promote the EDAF by advertising our web site, and exposing folks to the phrase and concept of "EveryDay Angels" as often as possible! A graphic showing the designs on both sides is online at: www.edaf.org/edapicks.gif The D'Addario picks are yellow .73mm medium guage with black epoxy ink, which makes the printing EXTREMELY durable. I have been using one for months, and it still looks new. This is the pick size/guage Jewel uses, and a good bet for those who actually play guitar... If you want to snag a few of these EDA picks and support the Foundation, here's how it works: Send a #10, business sized self addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with cash, check, or money order made payable to "EDAF" to: EDAF Picks c/o Dennis Harris PO Box 305 East Taunton, MA 02718 For every $2 donation to the EDAF, we'll send you a free thank-you gift of three (3) EveryDay Angel guitar picks. (The more you donate, the more picks we'll send you!) You'll also receive a receipt for your charitable donation. Please note that any order made with a check may take additional time to process. Cash and money order requests will be sent out within 48 hours. (International orders may require special handling. Email us for details.) For those of you who have donated over the past week, we hope you enjoy the picks, and thanks for the support!
