Okay so WOW Sydney rocked and I'm soooooooooooo glad I went!!!!!!!!! Okay I'll talk about Steve first coz I just LOVE him!! Okay so this was Tuesday. I patiently waited ALL day for Jewel and the gang to come for their soundcheck coz it was their first show that night. So it gets to 4:05 and i see a Tarago (the cars they drive around in) pull up. Steve was in the front seat and this blonde was in the back with sunnies on. Just me and this one other guy were waiting for Jewel and Steve. They get out and the guy realizes it's not Jewel (he was bummed) but I was excited coz I was gonna see Steve!!! Anyways he sees me and breaks into a huge grin. He goes "Hey you were in Melbourne!! It was Louise wasn't it?" I go "yep" then the drummer guy goes "yeah that's the girl you kissed in Melbourne" Steve says "yep so how are you?" L: Good thanx you? S: I'm great. S: So how was the kiss? L: It was awesome. S: *grins* L: I bought your album it is sooo cool!! S: That is sooo nice. Thank you. Steve leans forwards and gives me a peck on the lips Then he hugged me and goes "you're just so sweet!!" S: So how did you get here? L: I flew up. S: Who did you come with? L: My mom and dad. S: That might be hard. Do you reckon they'll let you out? L: Why? S: We should have an affair while you're here. L: I just won't tell them. S: *grins* Oh good. L: I'll just wait til we're married. He walked about 3 steps away and this blonde girl wanted a photo with him and it reminded me I had a camera!!! So I quickly grabbed it out of my bag then he got up from that photo and i go Steve can I get a photo? He smiles and walks over. "Definitely" He gave my camera to Brady the drummer and I stood next to him with my bag on my back and Steve goes "no take off your bag" then he got behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my cheek and goes "This is like the prom!! You're sooo cute!!" Then he got the little kangaroo and held it out in front and grabbed one of my arms and held it in the air. He is soooooooo adorable!!!!! Okay so then he went in and goes "I'll be back later" Okay half an hour later Jewel arrives. She gets out of the car, almost running to get past the gate, this guy next to me just thrusts his POY cover into her body shes like "ehh" like it's a really big deal signing one person's thing. Then she was gonna just walk in and not sign my poetry book but I go "can u sign this Jewel?" she hurriedly signed it I go "have a good show tonight" she did say thank you so that was kinda nice. Okay an hour goes by I'm still waiting there for them to come back out. Out comes Jewel, there were 4 people waiting now. Lots of can you sign this Jewel? cries. "She goes well hurry up, c'mon I don't have all day, u haven't even got your pen out, c'mon!!" Just being really mean i thought. I got an aweomse photo of her though while she was signing someone else's things. Then she signed mine and i go "when did you get so nasty Jewel? You used to be so nice to your fans." She got all catty and goes "can't u take a joke? when did you lose your sense of humour?" "I'd think u were nice if u took a photo with me, i came from Melbourne to see you"...she's like so?? I can now see how Entertainment Weekly got their nasty article about her. But I did find out later she was only joking, that's just how she is. Okay so she signed some more and NO photos were allowed this nasty lady kept standing in front of Jewel batting away our cameras, saying no photos no photos. Jewel jogged to the car and yells out "don't lose your sense of humour darling!!" I was really upset coz I thought she was being a total b**ch to me but now i can see she was being funny. Okay so after the concert I waited at the stage door for her. (Steve got me up on stage again and gave me wine and kissed me on both cheeks, after the show he signed the glass and told me where they were going drinking, hugged me twice and i saw his answering machine cd on stage when i was up there, he had it on his little table and I asked him if i could have one, he goes yep I'll get you up on stage tomorrow and give u one) Then he went back in and came out about 10 minutes later with Jewel!!! She signed my shirt and let people take photos and she was really nice and happy, smiling and everything. "I got my sense of humour back." I was standing so close to her our shoulders were brushing for about 10 minutes while she stood there signing stuff. She looked at me and turns to Steve (who was standing next to her) and goes "I was being really b**chy this afternoon and this girl here (points to me) then goes (she said it in her the cattiest tone it was hilarious!!) when did u get so mean Jewel, you used to be so nice to your fans. I was only kidding around. Being cheeky. I'm very (DAMN I can't remember what she said) it was a really long word starting with C which explained why she was that way. "I was ahhh ok" Then a little bit later I go "when are you gonna sing Buttercup for me Jewel?" I've requested it at every concert!! She goes "I can't even remember the words to it. I wrote it for Poltzie ages ago." So then they left and went out a different exit. Okay so there's my Tuesday experience with Jewel and Steve I think I'll post about my Wednesday one in another post coz this is soooooo long already!!! Okay, first of all I thought most Canadian EDA's would be interested to know that MuchMoreMusic is planning to spin Down So Long into "Heavy" video rotation starting March 17th. I've already seen DSL at www.jeweljk.com and well, I didn't mind it, it was typical pop video stuff. It kinda reminded me of sheryl crows "favorite mistake". I just would love any info on why no EDA ideas were picked. I read a few that my friends were submitting, I thought they were marvelous. I just don't understand, there was quite a bit of hustle and bustle on this list for a week or so, so we could get this done for the J-TEAM and then... well.... they decided to "go another way on this one" (which by the way is exactly what my agent says when I didn't make an audition ;) ) so anyhow yeah. I know I sound bitter but I'm really not, I'm just curious as to what happened. My best guess is that Jewel simply didn't have enough time to do anything fancy. Hiya Angels, You're probably sick of all my posts but I'm gonna keep writing them, at least some of u get excited about me meeting Jewel, my friends don't...lol Okay so Wednesday concert I waited for them to come for the soundcheck but they never did!! But Steve came at about 8pm and i gave a him a single red rose he goes "you're so sweet" hugged me. "I go have you got my cd?" He's like what?? "The answering machine one" "Oh yep I've got one for you. I'l give it to you later." "Hey Steve I want a song dedicated to me tonight!!" He was like "okay" So he's up on stage. And on his table was my kangaroo!!!!!!!! I was like awwwwww he's soooo sweet!!! After he'd sung a song I scream out "yeah Steve!!" He goes "what?" L: Hi!! S: Hi!! S: How are you? L: Good S: I can't see you what's your name? L: Louise S: I met this girl a couple of weeks ago she flew up from Melbourne and this is her last concert. She's a huge Jewel fan. Come up here and drink some wine with me. I promised her a cd and some wine and to prove they weren't all lies come up here. I went up got the cd, some kisses, a chat, some beer and wine. Okay so then Jewel comes on singing Don't and she was wearing a cowboy hat!!!!!!! She looked adorable!! I loved Don't coz the other 4 concerts she sang Near You Always so it was a nice change. She taken her hat off at this point. I waited for a quiet bit and after she sung Morning Song and I scream out "Hey Jewel!!!" J: "Hey what?!" L: "Can I have your hat?" J: "HELL no!! L: "C'mon!!" J: "Sheesh..." It was sooooo funny!!!! Anyways she totally rocked that night, then she sung Down So Long. J: Could you turn the house lights up a little bit? How are you guys doing? Are you alright? How are you up there? You're okay, glad to hear it. Could you guys stand up for me? (at this point I knew what was coming so I quickly walked down to about the third row, I had an aisle seat anyways) That'd be great. You guys aren't allowed to stand, unfortunately I got in trouble last night because the architecture doesn't have a permit for you guys standing. So stay sitting. You stand and come forward. Very good. (I quickly ran to the front of the stage. I was the only one there the crowd was kinda slow getting up.) Jewel spotted me and smiled and goes "hello darling how are you? Am I nice enough today?" I go "yes you are" Jewel goes "glad to hear it, thank you darling" I AM STILL SMILING!!!!! So I'd like everybody to fill the aisle. Like leave your seatage. There's probably gonna be some room down here if u guys on the balconies wanna come downstairs and stand. Or if you want. Feel free. Or your could stay sitting you f**kers. She then went on to rock out her new song 'Down' then Love Me Just Leave Me Alone then another awesome version of WWSYS in which she spit on me!!! She really gets into that song I LOVE it!! And she was standing within arms length and she kept looking down and smiling at me. And when I looked at Steve he was grinning at me and laughing. She ran off stage then came back and sang Summertime?? I'm pretty sure it's not her song, it was really bluesy, jazzy kinda...but it rocked. She went off again then came back and sung Angel Standing By. She actually looked at her watch while she was singing Summertime...not a good sign so I was kinda bummed when she didn't yodel :( Then I practically ran outside to the side entrance to get her autograph and I was sure she'd say something to me, definitely!! But I waited an hour, Steve came out signed the cd he'd given me and the picture of him and me I'd taken the day before. I'll be framing that one!! And putting my 3 wine glasses in a display case. But Jewel never came out!!! I just wanted to see her one last time!! I was sooooo disapointed but at least she knows who I am now. I wrote Stve a note and put it with his flower and I sorta said I loved him and that he'd made a friend and fan for life in me. I gave him my phone no. and address and asked him to write me. And he's soooooooo damn sweet he probably will!! And after the concert when he was walking away after signing my stuff he said thank you for the note and smiled. So he read it!!! YAYS :)) My Jewel experience was definitely worth all the money I spent and it was a LOT, and I'm totally jealous of all you guys who get to see Jewel and Steve perform in their upcoming concerts.
