I've discovered today the the MTV received in South Africa is the European MTV, not the US MTV I thought. Are the two MTV different, or do only their times differ? If only the times differ, could anyone tell me by how much? And if they're two different channels, is there anyone who knows when they will have shows with Jewel in it on European MTV? I'd really be grateful. Thanks in advance. - -- Koos van Zyl >>>>>>> The Savage Angel <<<<<<< "Don't you know the pain To want the one thing That you haven't got." - Mine ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Mar 1999 14:05:55 -0200 From: Sue Harrison Subject: RE: Biorhythm Hey EDA's, Sorry for the delayed reaction here, but I just finally got to watch Biorhythm. I've got to say I have a newfound respect for Jewel. She struggled so much and never gave up. I don't think the average person could endure what she did. I sure couldn't! I'm much happier for her now too. She's finally getting what she worked so hard for. Wow, I have never seen a musician who even compares to Jewel. She didn't enter the music scene with a cocky attitude..say, like Madonna did in the early 80's, saying "I want to rule the world!" . All she wanted to do was buy her own food and have a place to live. I have a feeling she is going to be in the spotlight for many years to come. GO JEWEL!!!! It's under a section called "wouldn't be caught dead in that" or something around those lines. The picture is of the same outfit/hairdo she had on for the last Letterman performance. It says something about her hair being ugly, and her outfit being very hideous (see, i wasn't the only one who thought she looked horrible!). ~lee Dear Lee, What was she wearing? I'm curious. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Mar 1999 19:33:41 -0600 From: Amias Maldonado Subject: NJC - CALLING ALL TEXAS EDAS Hey Texas EDAs, I was thinking that it would be REAL kewl if we got kinda organized as to how many of us there are, where we live, etc. so we can think about going to the Texas shows on the "Spirit" tour together. I don't know about everyone, but I plan on trying to go to all the Texas shows on the tour, if there are more than one. I remember last time dragging my friends to Lilith Fair to see Jewel, and it just isn't the same w/o people there to share it with, ya know? PLUS, the more of us, the more likely we'll be noticed and invited backstage....:) So if everyone could e-me their name and city, that would be great. I'd like to get this list ready now so we won't be scrambling when the dates are actually announced. PLEASE respond! - -Amias The reinspired angel "It's f-ing hot!" Hey all, I've always wanted to do one of these surveys, but never really thought of a good enough question. Well, now I've got TWO questions! LOL :) So, if you just want to respond to one or both, it's kewl. But please, RESPOND! It doesn't take that long. What else are you going to do? Go off and do something productive? #1 - If you could pick 12 angelfoods songs and put them on a new Jewel CD for major label release, which ones would they be? #2 - One thing everyone didn't seem to like on Spirit was that it was overproduced. BUT, what song that isn't on STL, PBBAB, PoY, or Spirit do you think could benefit most from getting the studio treatment? - -Amias The reinspired angel "Please answer my survey!" -Me ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Mar 1999 19:29:21 -0600 From: Amias Maldonado Subject: DSL/Misc. Hey everyone, Thought I'd weigh in on "DSL" even though I'm a day late.... I was not impressed..I expected a WHOLE lot more. Other EDAs have said that it looked a lot like "YWMFM", and it did. But, I thought it looked a lot more like the Counting Crows' "A Long December," which is another video Lawrence Carrol did. Just with the trees, and snowflakes, and the overall atmosphere. It started off good, and it ended good, but the middle was just a whole lot of Jewel standing there singing and doing her squirming/dancing thing (which I LOVE, but not for the majority of the video, like it was here). I dunno...Aside from the artistry of the video though, I thought Jewel looked great. Probably tied with "Foolish Games" for my third fav. video. Behind WWSYS and YMFM. I also have a few quick questions... In "Jessica", who is the close friend that she wrote the song for? What other songs did Steve and Jewel co-write besides YWMFM? Thanx for reading! - -Amias The reinspired angel "I will go in this way, and find my own way out.." There's only a few more pictures inside, including one with her mother, and the short article is basic stuff.
