My friend works at a music store and he met with a rep who told him that Jewel would be nat the Meadows Music Amphitheater in Hartford, CT on July 31st. Just some FYI. I am guessing she will be doing other shows in Mass and NY around the same time. But it really DOES sum up what I have to ask for! If any angels can help me out with the following I'd appreciate it: - -Can anyone make for me copies of their JewelStock tapes? I would trade, but I have nothing TO trade - -Anyone know any sites with completed tabs/chords from PoY AND Spirit? - -Since lyrics.ch is down, I have no source for songs off of angelfood, so if you know of any good sites, could you send me them? - --Jessica, the mischevious, tomboyish, in love angel that likes to "clumsly strum" her guitar :) ************************************************************ * Jessica ICQ: 3872338 * AOL/AIM: skizopyro * webpage: http://surf.to/dbjess ************************************************************ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Feb 1999 22:56:47 -0500 From: J K Subject: atlantic records spews jewel....cool! hey peeps and peepettes! just got this here infomate from something atlantic records spews forth once in a bit. i know the main speil is oldtime news, howeverbut all the rebroadcast times are noted. tobanya! john p.s. gigathanks to all who replied to my vid plea! . .|. .||. .|.|. .|. |. .|___|. t l a n t i c R e c o r d s .|'''|''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' .|. |.|. .|. |.||. .|. |.| |. |.| |. i g i t a l S p e w |.| |'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' |.| |. |.| |. ||. |. ****** * | | * * * * ------- * * ------- * * | | * * * ***** +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Digital Spew #71 02/26/99 +++++++++++++++++++++++++ *JEWEL ROCKS THE ROCKIES ON VH1 IN MARCH* Everything in Colorado is extreme. The jumps are higher, the cliffs are steeper, the beer has more bubbles, hell, even breathing is more difficult. Jewel's recent concert in Aspen, which commemorated the launch of her non-profit foundation "Higher Ground For Humanity," was no different, and if you won't take our word for it, you can see, and hear, for yourself. Check out the extreme passion, the extreme poignancy, and the extreme positivity, as Jewel gives stirring renditions of songs from her smash album "SPIRIT," as well as some old favorites and new surprises, when VH1 airs "Jewel Rockin' the Rockies" (below are air dates and times)!!! I just joined the list, and is from South Africa, 16, and I'm nuts about Jewel & Savage Garden (two totally differnt styles of music, I know...). Anyway, I've seen a few postings from people asking for live recordings, videos, etc. I'd love to have some of it too. Here in South Africa you just don't find anything good, and I highly doubt Jewel will risk her life to perform here:-). I'd really like to have a video of some show of hers or something (I've never seen a live show or recording of a live show of any artists on TV here), and I'll be happy to mail whoever has or will have a good video of one of her shows a video tape...there's only one little problem : the video format we use in South Africa is different from the format they use in the US. I'm not sure what the format is called (PAL?), but whatever the case, it's different from the US's. Any other countries where the tape format isn't the same as the US's? Oh, and (excuse my stupidity) what does EDA stand for, and what is it? Thanks! Koos ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Feb 1999 00:14:47 EST From: Harrisbros@aol.com Subject: NJC: Moo Moo Buckaroo, or Splinters in My Saddle... Okay guys, rally time! Now's the time to reach out and help a very dear friend of ours. A guy who may desperately need us -- Alan Bershaw. What has me alarmed most are recent posts he has made for the Jewel-Team as MrBB, specifically the one where he announced his new-found passion for roping plywood animals! FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS ROPE PLYWOOD ANIMALS. I've watched this "Dr. Bershaw and Mr. BB" transformation for three years now, and I can't remain silent any longer. Someone has got to put their foot down. Now. *thud* With apologies to "Mr. Donkey" Letterman, I offer the Ten Top signs that you have lost it in JewelLand: #10: You have more than three Jewel pictures visible on your walls at home. #9: You have more than a dozen cassettes with unreleased Jewel music. (Alright, Alan is her sound archivist, I guess ;-) #8: You change your name to "angel something or other" -- or simply use initials (ie, MrBB) #7: You spend more than seven days a year in southern California. #6: You choose to vacation in Homer, Alaska instead of Hawaii in hopes of seeing the Kilcher Homestead. #5: You routinely find missing compilation videotapes of Jewel television appearances in your kitchen cupboards. #4: You discuss ways -- and excuses -- to wear Jewel's name or likeness. #3: You can explain the subtle differences in all known existing recordings of "Deep Water." #2: You can follow the logic of this "top ten" list. Bonus men's sign: You show way too enthusiasm announcing the availability of Italian sterling silver angel jewelry via the web. Bonus women's sign: You actually care if Jewel is gay, bi, straight, crooked or slightly off-center. And the #1 sign that you have lost it in JewelLand: YOU ROPE PLYWOOD ANIMALS IN YOUR BASEMENT. (Of course, openly admitting it is the first step to recovery.) While I have no proof Alan has ever been to Homer, I see a distinct and disturbing pattern here. Personally, I fear the worst and feel that intervention is clearly called for. I am establishing a fund for Alan's benefit, and hope I can count on everyone's support. Our first project will be a tee shirt design contest. And for obvious reasons -- please, NO cows!!! See the URL at: www.toomuchtime.com/members/angelwithoutaclue/jewelshrinepage.html Follow the java-enabled multimedia links and, with a lot of patience and a reliable non-AOL ISDN-or-better connection attempted between 3 and 5 AM weekdays, you may get there! And for everyone's sake, please keep this in mind: JUST SAY "NO" TO ROPING PLYWOOD COWS. "YEE-HAW" indeed, Alan...
