I was in Target the other day, and I picked up this Dawson's Creek book to cure my boredom (I've been reading constantly...dodododododododo). Here's an excerpt from it: (to place the scene, Dawson, Joey, Jen, and Pacey are all at this ski resort thang. A girl Pacey likes is up on stage...) "She led into Jewel's 'I Was Meant For You,' singing so sweetly that when Dawson closed his eyes he thought it was Jewel herself." Just thought I'd let everyone know that a one Mr. Dawson Leery wants Jewel ;-) Jamie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Feb 1999 22:49:58 -0600 From: David Nesting Subject: Re: EDA idea On Fri, Feb 05, 1999 at 03:11:08PM +0000, Nat wrote: > > I think you need a website to host it from, but www.zzn.com gives everyone > personalised email, so you get for example, > angelname@everydayangels.zzn.com Everyone gets the @everydayangels.zzn.com > bit. But > someone who has a Jewel site could host it :) It is free btw There are a few > other things like this, but some take weeks to set up. After going back and forth with Karyn a bit, I came up with a few more ideas: A www.everydayangels.org web site -- Not sure exactly what we would put on it just yet, except the generic EDA list information and links to sites. I build web sites for a living so this wouldn't be much of a major undertaking. It's also pretty minor next to the rest of the things we'd be using the domain for: A yourname@everydayangels.org e-mail address -- I'm thinking this could just simply be a forward to your real address, but there's no reason why we couldn't (in the future) turn it into a web-based e-mail system (a la Hotmail) as an option instead of just forwarding. A http://everydayangels.org/yourname web site redirector -- Points the person to your home page (or Jewel page, whatever). This would be pretty easy for me to do. It would work sorta like the http://come.to/yourname redirectors that are already popping up. I've sent some inquiries to the web provider I'm using for all of my stuff to see how we could best do the e-mail stuff. I have the programming and database knowledge to do everything outlined above and have it set up within the next couple of weeks. I just need to know if there are many people who'd be interested in using it. It'll be free for all EDA's of course. No pop-ups or banner ads needed. If any of this sounds worth pursuing to anybody, please let me know. I'm not going to do it if there isn't any interest, but if there is, it won't be too much work. Well, there you go. Oh also, I had no Idea that Kiss The Flame was an old song and does anyone know where I can get a hold of it. Thanks! {\O/} /_\ Diana an EDA FOREVER!! I am so happy for her that she met Jewel and that she was invited in the studio to listen to her do some music parts of her album Spirit. It's amazing to see how voluntary Jewel signed all her books that Rachel had brought with her. i hope to experience the same one day in my life too. when will she come to holland to do some promotional work and give concerts in this country as well greetings. michiel ps was there anybody who taped any of the jewel radiostation appereances in the uk ?? michiel van gorkum ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Feb 1999 09:53:45 EST From: EPhili2568@aol.com Subject: Hey EDA's i have a question about Jewel Tabulature... David ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Feb 1999 11:51:13 PST From: "Steve Garner" Subject: engagement ring?? hi fellow EDAs, A few days ago, someone made a post mentioning that they saw Jewel with a ring on, and that it could possibly be an engagement ring. I'm assuming Jewel is still with her boyfriend (the soap opera guy, I forget his name). IF the engagement thing IS true, does it seem odd to anyone else that they are getting engaged so soon? To my knowledge, they've only been together for 5 or 6 months. Well anyway, as soon as anyone hears any accurate info on the subject, I know it will be posted to the list. I know that there are a lot of people who are going to be curious about this whole thing. On the other hand, if it's true that they are engaged, it would probably be a good idea if I never found out. My heart would be broken into a million pieces. That sounds pathetic, I know, but I'm an unhappy guy who spends his days pining away for Jewel, so give me a break here. She's beautiful and I adore her. Just my 2 cents :) Steve ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Feb 1999 10:42:55 PST From: "Jessica Maki" Subject: NJC: Re: EDA mail >I think you need a website to host it from, but www.zzn.com gives everyone >personalised email, so you get for example, >angelname@everydayangels.zzn.com Everyone gets the @everydayangels.zzn.com Before this thread started I made an eda.zzn.com email address for all of you to use (if you wanted to do so). Yesterday(Thurs.) Jewel(supposedly) recorded interviews with BBC radio Scotland, Scot FM and Fourth FM. Scot FM and Radio Scotland will probably be broadcasting them when she releases 'down so long' or when she plays at Glasgow but Forth FM will be brodcasting the interview tonight between 11 and 2am. They will be repeating it though, I'm not sure when. Did they just get all the names together, and pick seventy names out of a hat, so to speak. Or was it a contest? Also, how many people have written to Jewel via e-mail and have gotten a response from her? What are the odds on getting one(I know that they're probably pretty slim). These are all excellent questions I've received over the past few weeks from various EDAs: What is the mission of Higher Ground For Humanity? How will HGH pursue it's mission? What is unique about HGH? What does HGH support? How does HGH support? What are some of the HGH programs? New HGH information & ANSWERS TO ALL THESE QUESTIONS are now up on Jewel's website on the HGH pages. (See the black area below "A Note Form Nedra" for links to various HGH areas you'd like to explore.) We invite the EDAs to be some of the first people on the planet to become more educated about HGH. We'll soon feature new HGH multimedia content for you as well. Explore & educate yourself at the HGH pages at www.jeweljk.com.
